Hi folks. I'm new to Pathfinder, and just wondering if someone could suggest a great 3rd party or official published intro adventure for 1st level characters? I'd be looking for something that is standard "high-fantasy, D&D-style".
Also, what are some of the best 3rd party campaign settings out there? Again, looking for fairly standard high fantasy, but don't mind some twists and originality.
Cheers!

Golarion has any type of setting you are looking for, ranging from devil controlled French opera divas, to halfing founding fathers of America. A good high fantasy adventure that I enjoy, if you want a nice campaign start, is the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. It's pretty standard with some nice haunted house and ogre slaying parts, and the entire goal is to stop the evil mage from rising out of his demiplane and taking over the world. Lots of giants, dragons, evil cultists, ghouls, murder mystery, and it's topped of by themes of HP Lovecraft at the

While Rise of the Runelords is a fantastic place to start, I also heartily recommend The Dragon's Demand. It's a great starter campaign and introduction to Golarion and goes from levels 1-7 I believe. And if you really enjoy it there are a few other published modules that take place in the local area for levels 8-10ish and make for a good continuation if your players enjoy the PCs they roll up.
EDIT: Almost forgot - since you're new to Pathfinder, I heartily recommend making use of the Pathfinder OGC. It has the latest information on just about... Everything in Pathfinder you need to play. Feats, spells, classes, equipment, monsters... Everything! The only thing it 'lacks' is in-world Golarion specific stuff, such as information on countries or deities, but you can utilize the Pathfinder Wiki for all of that. Hope this helps! :)

The only official campaign setting for Pathfinder RPG is the Pathfinder campaign setting, often just referred to as Golarion (the name of the planet).
Rise of the Runelords was the first Adevture Path (full campaign) put out for Pathfinder and it is an excellent campaign. It's also been updated and compiled into a single book, which makes it more accessible.
However, if you're new to RPGs or the GM seat, I'd advise against jumping head first into a full campaign (they can take a long time to complete). Instead, I'd advise getting a nice little starting adventure to play through until you and your players are a little more comfortable. Crypt of the Everflame was put out as an introductory adventure for the Pathfinder RPG and that might work well for you.

I played 3E D&D for many years, so am not new to RPGs or DMing. Just new to Pathfinder.
I have been checking out Rise of the Runelords and the other adventure paths, and they all seem great. But I thought that there would be campaign settings published by other companies as well, because of the whole open content thing? Or am I confused?

You're not confused, but if you're specifically looking for 3rd Party stuff, you'll probably have more luck in that section of the forum.

From my own personal experience; Rise of the Runelords.
It´s a great campaign that take your wee hand, helps you through your first baby steps to becoming an adventure, and then it hurdles you through some epic adventures, nasty experiences and grand happenings. I have been playing this campaign for almost two years now and I love it! We're halfway through book 6 and I have never, in my 10+ as a roleplayer, experienced anything THIS awesome.

Rise of the Runelords converted my DM who had been campaigning since '79 to Pathfinder. He said, and I quote, "This is the best game I've ever run.".
edit: oh and if you're over 35 and don't like video-game style RPGing, I'd stay away from Kingmaker, which will get a lot of good buzz when you ask what to do next. While obviously well made and ambitious, it can be a bit off putting if you are of the age where you want things more like the old D&D modules, just our groups opinion though. Reading through the forums marked "Pathfinder adventure path" can get you a good idea of what everything is like, including reading the reviews for the modules.

I will agree with the people saying Rise of the Runelords and Crypt of the Everflame, but here is an option you should definitely explore.....
Hollow's Last Hope. It is a FREE download of a Free RPG Day adventure that has 32 reviews on this site and 4.5 stars out of 5.
I thoroughly enjoyed the module and if you like it there are several other adventures set in the area that can be tacked on to create a mini-campaign, all of which are great modules. Crown of the Kobold King, Carnival of Tears, Hungry are the Dead....all modules that add onto the region of Falcon's Hollow (the main town in Hollow's Last Hope) and expand on the area and campaign. There is also the Guide to Darkmoon Vale that gives a ton of info on the region...64 pages of it!
But like I was saying....for a free, short adventure to test the waters you should absolutely check out Hollow's Last Hope. At worst it isn't what you want, at best you took a risk-free step into a campaign based around 4 adventure modules and a regional supplement book with a ton of details to flesh out your campaign.
Good luck and have fun.

Other campaign settings by third party publishers for the Pathfinder RPG include Razor Coast from Frog God Games, Way of the Wicked by Fire Mountain Games, The Midgard Campaign Setting by Kobold Press, or the upcoming Freeport, the City of Adventure from Green Ronin, or the ZEITGEIST Adventure Path setting by ENworld Publishing. All of these can be recommended.
