Is there any way to shrink magic items

Rules Questions

I know that the Shrink Item spell doesn't work on magic items. Is there any other way to shrink magic items, and then later unshrink them?

A glove of storing.

The treasure stitching spell shrinks items along one dimension, flattening them.

Might depend on why you're shrinking them. I keep thinking 'handy haversack' but that's really a bag of holding.

I also keep imagining someone shrinking a Monk's Robe in the wash ...

Let me expound. I have a large magic item, about 3ft x 5ft and very heavy that I want to shrink. So I think maybe a Treasure Stitching spell would do the trick, then the cloth could just be rolled up for transport?

Also I just realized the treasure stitching spell technically won't work on artifacts. The item I need to shrink is an artifact. :( Any other ideas?

With artifacts you are probably out of luck. I'd put it in a portable hole at its normal size.

You might not be able to shrink it, but you could always permanently enchant a floating disk spell on a carpet or a disc to move it. Similar to the driftdiscs from Menzoberranezan that the drow nobles rode on in Drow of the Underdark.

Gisher, a portable hole works great, thank you!!

Give them to a smaller person...

Polymorph any object

You are welcome. You might need a levitate spell or block and tackle to get it in or out.

Portable hole works but takes time to access (also secure) but you can get a minion to carry it for you.

Animate dead, craft construct, or dominate monster combined with a heavy load belt and mule back cords works.

Animate a wagon and give is slotless versions of those items for about 31k. I can fly and carry 43 tons on a heavy load and 14 for a light load. Also hard to break into a animated wagon.

Doesn't polymorph only works on living creatures, not objects?

Polymorph Any Object works on (almost) any object. Sadly, it doesn't work on magic items so it's worthless for the purposes of this thread.
