Best Capturer

Advice

Dear community,

I'm looking for a build which is based around the folowing concept:

Capturing everything alive, as fast as possible. Imprisoning/holding stuff instead of killing.

My aim is to subdue, restrain and capture everything instead of killing. This includes enemies that teleport.

What builds are best for this? The archetype bounty hunter? A grappling monk? What items should I use? What should I take in account?

This is for PFS and I'd like to pride myself by reaching lvl 12 without any bloodshed.

The Tetori Monk archetype is what you are looking for.

You will be able to grapple targets that are usually unable to grapple at higher levels. With access to most of the required feats.

Sovereign Court

Summoner with a huge grappling eidolon is your other option.

My lawyer cleric of Asmodeus always took the enemy alive, using blind and control spells. High dc controllers can do the same.

My monk sap master is also the bring em all back alive (via non lethal). As does my ninja gunslinger sap master. A merciful blade on any barbarian/paladin would be similar (but I like rogues)

Though these are good options...im looking for a build that can capture an imprison everything. Ghosts, teleporting creatures, creatures immune to nonlethal damage. How do i do that?

Dimensional shackles....ssubdual damage...grappling...spellcasting to hold or capture and imprison monsters.

How do i transport them?

Also...goood diplomacy is wanted due to convincing peoplele that peace is good...

Help?

Darn mobile phone keyboards....

To transport something, if you mix GM's approval+your fantasy+shrink item, i think it could work just fine with a cage XD!

Like was said above, Tetori. You can grapple Incorporeal creatures, ignore Freedom of Movement, and lock down teleporters as long as you're holding them.

Keeping those things subdued long term, however, is impractical. Perhaps a Ghost Touch rope plus Dimensional Shackles will probably get you as far as the nearest city, however, at which point it's their problem.

Of course all they're going to do is probaby kill the thing anyway, because nowhere in the world is equipped to imprison such creatures, so you've wasted your time and money.

I think talking with your GM is the most viable option, maybe proposing on creating some kind of magical object (a strange cage ghosterbusters-like maybe, or a magic jar that could contain creatures) sacrificing something in exchange(part of your soul, mental care, doing a pact with demons or devils...)

I have a PFS Character who is awesome at capturing creatures.

Take Greater Grapple.

Take 2 levels in Cavalier, Order of the Penitent. The Order Ability is called Expert Captor. Normally, you can only Tie Up an opponent you have Pinned, and you take a -10 on your check. With Expert Captor, you can Tie Up an opponent you only have Grappled, not necessarily Pinned, and you don't suffer the -10.

Greater Grapple, of course, lets you make a Maintain a Grapple Check as a Move Action, which allows you to make 2 checks/round. With both Expert Captor and Greater Grapple, you can Initiate a Grapple as a Standard Action, then Tie Up your opponent as a Move Action.

Then you need to find ways to pump up your Grapple Mod. My PFS level 9 character could plausibly get her GMB up to +50 in a pinch.

Grand Lodge

I had a martial arts instructor who specialized in capturing foes. He was also head instructor for the police academy of a major city when he wasn't working as a beat cop. He specialized, of course, in handcuffs. He currently holds a seventh degree black belt in one martial art, and several black belts in various other styles.

Fighting this guy was a gas! No matter what you tried, he would grapple you, take you to the ground, then start applying the cuffs. He would routinely and efficiently do this to third and fourth degree black belts. Only other elite specialized grapplers even had a chance. I fought him many dozens of times, over several years, and never stood against him for more than 5 seconds. When he didn't have actual cuffs he'd make the CLICK-CLICK sound of cuffs being applied, as he did the hand motions, then immobilize you with a wrist lock and/or arm bar.

I'd probably model this guy in Pathfinder as a Tetori monk, but only because I'm not familiar with the Cavalier version. Seems like this will work well against humanoid foes, but will completely fail against oozes, weretigers, demons, etc.

I have one PFS character who is a 'technical pacifist'. This PC has never personally killed anything. He's a gnome Oracle of Heavens who drops foes with super-powered Color Spray. Needless to say, most of those foes receive a coup de gras from someone else in the party, so he's under no illusions that he's actually any sort of pacifist.
