how does one make a GOOD first impression

im getting hired to run games for a group and have know clue what to run for the one-shot.

Well, how long are you being hired for? What kind of players are hiring you? Do they have lots of experience or none?

I would say the first thing is to run Season 5, number 8 "The Confirmation." Introduces them to Pathfinder (again, don't know if they've played it yet) and see if they like it to keep you on?

its 6 player mix of new & experienced all lv.1

The Confirmation is a great intro adventure, but, if your experienced players have played any PFS, chances are that they have played it. Its an extremely popular adventure.

You could take a look at the First Steps mods for PFS. Its a set of three adventures that takes characters to level 2 while introducing them to the game.

It was originally designed for newbies who were playing in their first convention.

This one is also one that "everyone has played". But, it's been retired from PFS for a few years now so it may be a better option.

There is also a brand new Intro PFS scenario called The Wounded Wisp that even experienced players likely haven't had a chance to play yet.

We Be Goblins is also a great one-shot, and the PDF is free.
