I suppose it would be possible to hit yourself with a ray, if you wanted to.

I mean for the purpose of death's embrace power of death domain - to damage opponent and heal yourself.

Grand Lodge

No.

You are changing a burst effect, into a ray.

Grand Lodge

I just realized that this makes channel usable with a Conductive ranged weapon.

Hello healing gun.

Mein gott!

This is actually pretty cool.

"EAT HOLY POWER/UNHOLY POWER UNDEAD FIEND/PUNY ADVERSARY!"

Combine with Quick Channel and you can do it twice.

Totally making a villain with this.

Danke, Herr Doktor!

We totally need a variant Channel that can make your teammates temporarily invincible after you heal enough in a day.

Scarab Sages

And if they heal too much they explode, just like on the Positive Material Plane.

Weapon Specialization, Point Blank Shot, Inspire Competence, and others could apply.

You could Sneak Attack, to heal.

True, but like all ranged sneak attacks, it's a pain to get it to work.

Going to disagree with this one. Sneak Attack is extra damage; if you aren't dealing damage in the first place, you can't deal extra damage.

You could, though, Sneak Attack some poor bastard for lodsedice of one of the least resistable energy types in the game.

Could be a cool trick in a Gestalt game. Ninja/Cleric.

Hmm, would it work with the Warpriest's Sacred Weapon, and Weapon Focus(Ray)?

Nope, Sacred weapon doesn't work on anything that is pure energy damage.

Throw in Channel Smite.

Is that specified?

Yes, per the PRD:

Warpriest wrote:
Sacred Weapon (Su): At 1st level, weapons wielded by a warpriest are charged with the power of his faith. In addition to the favored weapon of his deity, the warpriest can designate a weapon as a sacred weapon by selecting that weapon with the Weapon Focus feat; if he has multiple Weapon Focus feats, this ability applies to all of them. Whenever the warpriest hits with his sacred weapon, the weapon damage is based on his level and not the weapon type. The damage for Medium warpriests is listed on the table above; see the table below for Small and Large warpriests. The warpriest can decide to use the weapon's base damage instead of the sacred weapon damage—this must be declared before the attack roll is made. (If the weapon's base damage exceeds the sacred weapon damage, its damage is unchanged.) This increase in damage does not affect any other aspect of the weapon, and doesn't apply to alchemical items, bombs, or other weapons that only deal energy damage.

You know, I was just wondering whether channel energy turned into a ray counts as a weapon or spell, since you can take weapon focus for rays, and thus combined with Divine Favor, would it benefit from bonus damage as well? the spell says specifically it doesn't add damage to spells, only to weapons.
But if you can weapon focus on rays... does or does it not qualify?

Be a rogue/cleric of Sarenrae. Take Channel Ray. Sneak up behind people and give a whole new meaning to the phrase "shoot sunshine up someone's arse".
