icehawk333 wrote:N/a - it's the multiple options and variable charecters that make this fun.Oh, I definitely agree. Again, it's for a project I'm working on, gathering some data as a starting point for it. Do you want to just mention a few archetypes that stand out to you?
I suppose sandman bard, reincarnated Druid, and monk of the empty hand.

Barbarian - Urban Barbarian
Bard - Arcane Duelist
Cleric - Evangelist
Fighter - Lore Warden
Ranger - Skirmisher
Wizard - Spellslinger
Alchemist - Grenadier
Gunslinger- Musket Master
Inquisitor - Preacher
Brawler - Shield Champion
Warpriest - Sacred Fist
Unlisted classes either don't have an archetype I don't care about, or I don't care about the class in general.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Alchemist: Fire Bomber (places focus on other features)
Arcanist; Eldritch Font (changes gameplay considerably)
Barbarian: Urban Barbarian (changes build possibilities)
Bard: Archaeologist (changes party role)
Bloodrager: Steelblood (changes attribute priority)
Brawler: Snakebite Striker (changes party role)
Cavalier: Emissary (trades specialization for versatility)
Cleric: Crusader (changes party role)
Druid: Saurian Shaman (places focus on other Druid features)
Fighter: Lore Warden (places focus on other Fighter features)
Gunslinger: Mysterious Stranger (modifies build considerably)
Hunter: Feral Hunter (modifies playstyle considerably)
Inquisitor: Infiltrator (fits other playstyles)
Investigator: Sleuth (modifies party role)
Magus: Kensai (places focus on other Magus features)
Monk: Sensei (places focus on other Monk features, changes party role)
Oracle: I don't like any that much. Maybe Warsighted but it's gimmicky.
Paladin: Holy Tactician (changes party role)
Ranger: Trapper (honestly, this was the hardest. Guide is great, Skirmisher is interesting, Witchguard is one of my favorites, but Trapper is the biggest change in playstyle and party role a Ranger could have)
Rogue: Scout (the band-aid archetype, I'd seldom make a Rogue without it. Close call between it and Sczarni Swindler or Underground Chemist)
Shaman: Dunno
Skald: War Drummer (places focus elsewhere. Spell Warrior is a good candidate too)
Slayer: Vanguard (changes party role)
Sorcerer: Wildblooded (lots of new options)
Summoner: Synthesist (changes playstyle and build)
Swashbuckler: Flying Blade (changes playstyle)
Warpriest: Mantis Zealot (changes playstyle without stepping into another class's territory like the Sacred Fist)
Witch: White-Haired Witch (changes playstyle and party role considerably. Witch Doctor is a good choice too but a tad too strong in my opinion)
Wizard: No idea.

Barbarian: Invulnerable Rager-Really, it's just correct for the 'tank' image we're going for with this.
Bard: Arcane Duelist-Most other archetypes just kind of fall flat, but this one really has a solid focus.
Druid: Urban Druid-It does what an archetype should, gives another focused option that actually works well.
Fighter: Lore Warden (Martial Master)-These should be combined as one and made the new default fighter, full stop.
Monk: Master of Many Styles-Styles give so much versatility to Monks, it's almost hard to recommend anything else, and make them great for dipping.
Paladin: Sacred Servant-It's the only one that really jives with me, although I do like powerful things.
Ranger: Freebooter-Freebooter's Bane is so good and it's so universal and helpful to the party, I love it so much more than favored enemy.
Rogue: Scout-Reliable sneak attack, yay.
Wizard: Spellbinder-Changing out spells is always hype forever, so this seems like a good way to do it.
Alchemist: Grenadier-There's no way I can make a more clear opinion on this.
Cavalier: Beast Rider-I just like the flavor and the large change to how your cavalier works after this is applied.
Gun Slinger: Bolt Ace-It allows slingers in non gun games and it's also awesome, basically a perfect archetype.
Magus: Hex Crafter-A large difference in play style and increasing versatility and coolness.
Summoner: Synthesis-An unpopular call, but I like how different it is.
Investigator: Empiricist-The intelligence focus of this really speaks to the class, probably should have been the default.

Alchemist - Grenadier. I like bombs. If I want to go mutant, I'll play a mutation fighter.
Antipaladin - There only IS one. MORE ANTIPALADIN LOVE PLEASE, PAIZO!
Arcanist - don't know well enough to care
Barabarian - Invulnerable Rager is so good as to be the only thing one should ever take, unless you're taking an archetype that doesn't mix, and even then, IR is probably better...
Bard - Dawnflower Dervish! The only bard I'll ever play, usually.
Bloodrager - Untouchable Bloodrager almost is just a barbarian archetype, really, what with losing spells.
Brawler - Shield Champion. Cap'n 'murica!
Cavalier - Daring Champion!
Cleric - Vanilla, really. So, don't care?
Druid - Don't care. Almost always vanilla, personally.
Fighter - Mutation Fighter is pretty sweet, IMO.
Gunslinger - Musket Master is the only way to 1-gun it.
Hunter - Verminous Hunter seems cool.
Inquisitor - Don't care
Investigator - Don't know enough to care
Magus - Hexcrafter FTW!
Monk - Zen Archer
Ninja - No archetype specifically for this class, sadly
Oracle - Dual-Cursed, hands down
Paladin - Don't care
Ranger - Beastmaster
Rogue - Scout, scout, scout, scout, and SCOUT!
Samurai - There only is 1. Like AP, this needs more support (AP needs it more, though. A lot of Cavalier stuff translates well into samurai, but a lot of pally stuff doesn't)
Shaman - don't know enough to care
Skald - You mean this isn't a glorified bard archetype already?
Slayer - Don't Care
Sorcerer - Tattooed Sorcerer is my fave
Summoner - literally ANYTHING but synthesist and master summoner. I don't care, just add my vote to whatever has a chance to beat either of those
Swashbuckler - I really like vanilla, but I suppose inspired blade is interesting
Warpriest - Uh, duh, seriously? Will ANYONE choose anything but Sacred Fist?
Witch - Love me some Gravewalker flavor
Wizard - Exploiter fo sho
