Of course he was a good guy. All he and his mentor were trying to do was to bring order and peace to the galaxy. If only the entire galaxy were united under one ruler, war would be a thing of the past. If all were to have the same status (servant of the empire), classism would be but a memory. Once the galaxy was united under the rule of the empire, courtes corruption and crime like the hu Hutt syndicates could be stepped out, improving the safety of all. Without the bureaucracy and red tape of a Senate, the empire would be free to become the most efficient and unregulated example of the free-market system ever, it would truly be a glorious time to be alive.
