Alchemist Arc. Failure

Rules Questions

Does Alchemist have arcane spell failure chanse?

+

If I "cast" haste extract, does it's effect apply only on alchemist, or + my allies too?

Grand Lodge

1) No.

2) If you have the Infusion Discovery.

So, alchemist can fight in heavy armor? Intresting... :)

Thanks! And what about delievering touch spells with tumor familiar?
I want to use cure spells to cure my allies with rat familiar delievering touch spells. Can I?

Grand Lodge

That's not exactly how it works.

First, you need the Infusion Discovery to allow others to drink your extracts, and then, it's only the drinker who is effected.

So, for Cure Light Wounds, they would need to drink the extract, to get the effect.

Basically, you are not a spellcaster, and don't really count as one, except for a few exceptions.

Shadow Lodge

yep it sort of stinks at times, but eh i just wished they gave the alchemist more polymorph exttracts to go with the whole transformation deal lol, but alchemist can make great melee characters if you go the hyde route feral mutagen is awsome lol

So, share touch spells quality of familiar does not work?

Shadow Lodge

well you can give the familiar the extracts or help them drink them but you cant drink it and then pass the spell onto some one else, you got to take the infusion to pass out the extracts, but you can also give your familiar your mutagens too lol

And what about drinking it, when tumor familiar is the part of body of alchemist?

Drink an extract (familiar is a tumor) -> Familiar "disconects" -> Familiar goes to an ally -> Familiar shares touch spell :)

For all your extracts, it only affects the person who drank it.

And right, you can be in heavy armor if you want.

It sure does, the issue is that Alchemists don't cast spells. You have a spell from an actual casting class and it works fine.

Yup, only the one who drinks it gets the benefit.

I was never sure if for spells that gives extra targetes by level, if that meant if you had the infusion discovery you could take a sip and pass the drink around for people to drink...

In theory you could have your familiar take the botttle to someoen, and have them drink it. Or potentially have the familiar spend it's action to pour it down their throat.. maybe?

Shadow Lodge

actually graystone it does work, a alchemists tumor familiar can drink both the alchemists extracts and the mutagens :)
