Scarab Sages Modules Overlord

4 people marked this as a favorite.

The shadow warrior, follow up class to the shadow assassin, it coming soon. I talk about the delays that pushed this product back by 4 years, and tease the cover, at my blog.

I've had very good success with a Shadow Assassin as the party NPC in my Kingmaker game (really the only complaint I've found is that I wish there was twice/three times as much support material for it than there is), Owen, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have put together for this!

Love the cover art. If you can at all make the spiked chain (or similar) an awesome weapon again I'll be in for that alone...

When you get the chance, you might want to update the 'About Owen' section on your blog page.

Looking forward to the Shadow Warrior. The Shadow Assassin is one of my gaming group's favorite classes.

Hooray! I can't wait to get my hands on this.

I love the shadow assassin, so I would be very interested to see this. But you also need to complete the trio with the shadow MAGE, hopefully with new shadow spells. After having so much fun playing a wayang shadow witch, a 4 person party of all shadow classes has tremendous appeal to me.

I...OHMAHGAWD!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure I've made my Excitement over the Shadow Warrior known. But in case you've missed it I've been asking about this for about 2 years so YYYEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know...it's almost like you knew that I'm going to be playing a gestalt character...I'm hoping for some synergy between the two....*is trying to not have an excitement meltdown*

Oh yea....TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!

With two Shadow classes the chances of support, beyond the existing Bullet Point of shadow feats, rises.

Especially if shadow Warrior sells well. :)

I'm a big fan of it too!

Between exotic weapon mastery and offensive combat training, you can certainly make one effective. Other shadow talents can build from there.

I'm a big fan of adding Combat Patrol and/or Lunge, too, but you'd have to use a Bonus Feat for that.

Now I feel like I should write #1 with a Bullet Point: Spiked Chain feats...

The first files for GGT The Shadowmancer is in playtesting right now.

We should be able to do that starting tomorrow. :)

So, we've an urban campaign starting sometime this month. I was about to go and roll a Shadow Assassin, but you had to go and trip him up. After poring through the book, I'm going to go with the Shadow Warrior instead. This bloke will be garroting folks in no time. :D

Thanks for an awesome class.

I may have to give the Shadow Warrior a week or so to be less "new and shiny" and reconsider which route I'll take.

I'm all for more shadow supplements though. Bring 'em on.

Is it for sale here at Paizo yet?

I am so happy right now. :)

They're being worked on. :)

No, Liz hasn't gotten to it, and we just sent it to her at, like 4am. But soon.

Some folks bought it at DriveThruRPG already.

It's here!

IT'S BOUGHT!

Also, technically S/RGG has the shadow mage already, in the form of a Pale Path for the Death Mage.

True, but not the same as what I have planned.

The Deathstalker archetype for Shadow Warriors could be seen as a class to support death mages, for that matter. :)

Got mine! I'm diggin' it!

Glad to hear it!

Since a couple of people have asked me, yes the heading format error for this book has already been fixed. :)

Liberty's Edge

Is the shadowmancer a new class or a sorcerer/wizard archetype? If not, do you have any plans for say, a Genius Guide to Shadow Magic with class options? The shadow inquisition and shadow mystery for oracles have nice rings to them.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The shadowmancer is currently designed to be a 20-level shadow manipulating spellcasting class.

That said, the Genius Guide to Shadow Magic DOES have a nice ring to it. :)

Well I know another unit shifter is business sense, but perhaps in an expansion to Shadow Warrior...?

Will pick this up just based on spiked chain power!!!
