Sorry for such a dumb question

Pathfinder Society

I don't know where to look for creating a pathfinder society character. I went to The PFS create a character and got to the creating part. But, where is the link to how to make the character? Such as, restricted classes, point buy amount, restricted races, starting gear, and so on.

You're looking for the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organised Play, in particular the first couple of chapters.

And welcome!

Also check out this blog here so you aren't blind sided by the up coming restricted race changes.

There you go. And remember, there are no stupid questions, only stupid people...

Wait, did I get that right?

I think you just called me stupid. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Damnit, I can never remember how those things are supposed to go.

(Look at the character profile and you'll see it was all in character)

...and this blog here, to give you a head start on the new factions for season 6 (which starts in the next couple of weeks).

And the Additional Resources page will tell you what character options are legal or not for your character. Most stuff is, but double check when you use anything that's not in the Core Rulebook, just to be sure.

Being a jerk in character is still being a jerk.

My thought is the only stupid question is the one you don't ask....

And making an obvious joke in character is still making a joke, even if it's a bad one.

You can dance around this all day but you are still going to end up at the fact that you called a new player stupid for asking a question. The only way I can see you saving any face here would be to apologize and move on.

I'll just move on without the apology so that the thread doesn't get any more attention than it deserves.

HAHA, you both are stupid[.] (Facetious Punctuation)

Here is my character. I'm still working on it, but this should be right.

After reading the Guide to Organized Play, a good idea is to print out the core 1st level pre-gen PCs to get an idea. You can even start with one and play it for a couple scenarios then change anything on it to suit your style.

Meh,I've played since DnD 3. I have a pretty good idea. Most character's I make are just on a piece of loose-leaf. I just wanted to try and get into the society. Seems pretty neat. Is there a map, or something. I have had this character in the past. I know his backstory, I just don't know how it fits in the world. There is a lot to read, no problem, but to try and find out who might be warring against who; that would be 27 years ago, so how long is a season. Maybe a retired faction was in my backstory.

You'll be fine.

There's quite a few DnD 3Ed'ers in our group, and they adapt to PFS real fast from what I can see.

Welcome, and enjoy!

It's actually a great question and great website feedback.

After you go to that Pathfinder Society page, to get to the link to the guide, you need to first click on Player Resources on the right hand side or Products on the bottom right. Very easy to miss if you're brand new since you don't know what you're looking for, even though you're the target audience! And you did the most obvious thing to do by clicking the big bad "Join the Pathfinder Society and create a character now!" link.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Clicking on your character name to see the PC, the one thing that jumped out at me is that you're missing a point on your point buy. If you just want to keep your stats incredibly balanced, I'd recommend just throwing the extra point on constitution. That'll give you one more point that you can go negative before dying if you happen to get knocked unconscious.

As for warring nations from 27 years ago... ummm... good question. Since you want sandy areas, Osirion and Qadira are the obvious choices. Qadira and it's neighbor to the north, Taldor, are always in a state of cold war, even when they're not actively warring. I don't know exactly what the situation was 27 years ago in the game world.

Uh, his point buy is perfect if you assume he bought the 14s and used the human bonus to take a 10 to a 12. It's not the optimized way to do it, but with that point buy he's not optimizing anyway.

Scarab Sages

Nailed it, big daddy.

Fromper, that is perfect advice on the backstory.
