I'm running a table of the Blakros connection as part of the regular PbP's that I do. Karrion, if you want I have a spot for you, so you can have a go at it as well. It's a Blakros scenario, after all.
Also, I think I can start either 709 (Blakros Connection) or 710 (Consortium Compact) soon as well, if you guys are up for it (708 should finish soon, one way or the other).
For 709, I believe only Elindriel is in a game, so if Pedwiddle has a different character available, we can go with that one. Otherwise, 710 is intended for more or less fresh characters.

I've loaded up my characters on the spreadsheet and ready to roll with whichever is up :)
I have played Compact, but it is an evergreen.

I've set up a thread for 7-09 (see the link above). If you guys are ready to start, we'll start.
@Pedwiddle: I have no preference, just bring whoever you think is fun to play.
| DM Kludde |
I like how you guys keep ending up in the high tier with as low an APL as possible.
You weighed in at 4.67 and 4.83 in To Judge a Soul (3-7), 8.83 in Ironbound (7-11), and now 7.00 for The Blakros Connection (5-9). It's a nice break from the usual ROLFstomping that seems to happen nowadays (though 7-04 isn't giving you all that much of a hard time so far).
| DM Kludde |
Yeah, I'm sorry if it's all drawn out. All my tables seem to take much longer these days - I haven't had a table complete in under five weeks since September.
Not really sure where it comes from. I've been less pushy about timing out players (please let me know if that is a good or a bad thing), and a bit less pushy altogether, but I do get the impression that the season 6 scenario shortness was a bit of a fluke.
7-08... it is giving you a hard time. That confusion could have been a bloodbath if it hadn't been for Mogall.
| Shifty |
That said, the tables I have run have taken a fair but longer than I'd have expected too - I think the Holidays slows things down a lot...
7-08 was just a chore - having high end casters and low end players was just nasty, but the scenario seems to favour long and drawn out over snappy and on point. I haven't dug 706 and 708 all that much, I'm putting them on the 'meh' pile with Beacon Below.
I think the writer had a good idea, but they have tried to pack what could be an interesting module into two scenarios, but then haven't done a good job of editing and pacing.
To be honest I think S6 was fine, but we aren't posting as quickly of late.
What slows things down is if you end up waiting on Face players to come do their thing, I have a few games where Mr Charisma posts at the speed of a continental drift and then gets shirty if you get bored waiting for them and post away.

I certainly have my share of responsibilities from September to Christmas, as I've pointed out earlier, and I'm really sorry about that. However, I'm now fully back in the games and very dedicated.
From my point of view, scenario length can come from undecisiveness (is that a word?) from the players, and could be solved by having the GM push a little more or take slight shortcuts (such as chaining events if the game runs late). Alternatively, if more players decide to make an effort to push the game forward, that'll help tremendously. I know that the scenarios I don't actively push forward are usually when I don't understand/remember the plot, and what we have to do (usually because the scenario stretches long).

To keep the momentum going, I've opened the gameplay thread for 7-10!
Go ahead an sign in, and don't forget to fill out the orange table on the handout (and do all the icon uploading and init modifying and such).

In other news: yaay! Five stars!

Does it have to be a caster/familiar relationship? Just wondering. You could catch a ride on Henri's shoulder/head...more like a pirate's parrot than a wizard's raven =)
I didn't think you all wanted to wait on me to roll up a new character, so I submitted Henri, who is a senior 2nd-level character. Happy to let Henri get the credit though =)
| DM Kludde |
That familiar concept sounds like a lot of fun, I like the sound of that.
If you are mostly creating new character, you might also consider the oft-overlooked teamwork feats. For obvious reasons, they are rarely used in PbP, but in your case they might make sense.
I've updated the chronicles for 708 to note the right amounts of the gold...
| Lithrac |
Fox Shape requires BAB +3. Is there another way to make your fox tiny (familiar size)?
You're right - the plan will have to wait until level 5. While I get there, I'll take the Realistic Likeness feat to allow me to pass for someone specific - quite strong in conjunction to a good bluff skill.

Pedwiddle and Karrion, when do you think you have something ready for The Consortium Compact?
| Rhanloi Ehlyss |
I am heading out on vacation starting Thursday. Will have a laptop and wifi and will make an effort to check-in each day, but if I'm late please autobot my character to help keep the games moving! (Shifty - we've been playing together for quite a while and you seem to know how I think, so please fill in for me if required. Thanks!!)
| DM Kludde |
We're almost done with 704. Can you all make sure that you roll day job and enter them in the orange table on the handout?
Once we're done with 7-04, I'll move on to 7-11 as quickly as possible...
| DM Kludde |
I've also put up the link for Ancient's Anguish - feel free to dot in!
| DM Kludde |
Thanks a lot for playing! You certainly owned the fights on this one...
Shandor "The Beast"
|
Thanks DMK, though the amount of gold for Shandor's day job appears to be missing. I rolled it in the Gameplay thread, just like Elindriel.
Shandor "The Beast"
|
By the way, I meant to ask whether what we found at the end of the scenario would qualify as an artifact (for the Dark Archive faction card goal)?
| DM Kludde |
Fixed now!
It's easier for me if everything is in one place, that's why I ask you to put the stuff in the table. It's not so important for you guys, but if I run a table with not so regular players, the table is very handy as a centralized place to have pfs numbers, level (tiers), and names in a single table
Shandor "The Beast"
|
I will absolutely keep that in mind. I used to fill it in with the roll (1d20+7, for example) at the start of the scenario, then completely forget about it.
How about that artifact, by the way?
| DM Kludde |
The staff is a regular magic item (it's the staff on the chronicle sheet, Edasseril's Scorn). I don't think the opaque ball counts as a 'recovered' artefact (if it is an artefact at all - more of a building?)
Shandor "The Beast"
|
Alright, thanks! I'll tick another objective then (namely the "Possess a number of ranks in (Spellcraft and UMD both qualify) equal to your character level.")

One of my more benign mental problems is that phrases and word combinations immediately trigger songs in my head, just because of a little lyric or an association (I think this is why I like to play bards so much). I cannot help hearing 'the rainbow connection' every time I open the gameplay thread for 7-09.
Also, 'Taldan nursery rhyme' gives me an immediate association with 'nursery cryme', so excuse while I rock out to Genesis' musical box for the next ten minutes.
| DM Kludde |
Karrion, Tiaburn, Pedwiddle: Do you know who is going to do Ancient's Anguish, respectively what character you will bring?
| DM Kludde |
Karrion: 7-11 is all yours to join, but please make haste...
| DM Kludde |
Some of my posts from yesterday got eaten, and I was unable to access the paizo site later in the day. You might all want to check if the post that you though you made is actually there.
It seems to be that time of year again...
