Yeah, definitely "detached", then. You are as detached from the suffering, pain, and fear of sentient humanoids as a wolf is from the bleatings of sheep. You are a higher predator, though - a thinking predator. The "evil" part of NE ensures that the suffering you cause doesn't draw out remorse or pity from you.

Ooh, nice. I think I can work with that.

While detached works well, if you're looking for more options you could go for Unremarkable. This focuses on the Personal Presence aspect of Charisma, you aren't unlikable or surly you just fade into the background. You're the guy standing at the bar, unable to get served while dozens of people come and go and come again.
I find this works well with casters because you're ignored all through the social stuff and then combat/exploration happens and you explode on to center stage.

All I could think of after reading that first paragraph was this .
But that is definitely an option as well. The way I've been imagining this character leans a bit more towards detached, but this still seems viable at this point, since I haven't fleshed this character out completely yet.

Eisur, I have no idea how you view the Charisma ability, and have no stake in whatever position you take. Now, however, might be a good time to qualify what, if anything, the numerical value attached to your Charisma means to you.
PC, Zhayne, at the risk of sounding paranoid, I would say that we should focus on what the original poster wanted and avoid a sequel to the earlier thread (for whose conclusion I'm as guilty as anyone else). If I'm misreading your posts, you have my apologies. :)

I used to only see it as something that determined physical attractiveness. Over time I learned that that is not necessarily what it means, many of the people I play with agree that is does deal with it, but that's definitely not all it is. I kind of see it as a guideline these days, a guideline to things like behavior and such. Which seems to be the way I've seen it discussed in the other thread I saw earlier.

I tend to need more than just the low Charisma score to go on.
I've got a character with good INT/WIS and low Charisma. Very smart and even eloquent, the crappy CHA comes across in mannerisms. He'll pick his nose or scratch at himself during conversation. He is entirely too blunt and oblivious to things like social pecking order. Finally, while he knows a crap ton of words and always uses them correctly, he will occasionally pronounce a word wrong. The idea being that although he has read the word more than enough to know how to use it, he has not interacted with others enough to know how to properly say it
"Yes, yes, I know. I was being facet-us"
"What?"
"Facet-us. As in many facets. I was being flippant. Like joke."
"Facetious?"
**long pause** "THATS WHAT I SAID!"

I don't think it necessarily needs to effect your RPing, you could act and behave like a nice caring person and even good looking. But you won't be precived that way.
But if you want to RP a low charisma, it helps the others at the table to understand that you're not playing a charismatic character. Just make sure you do it without being a douche. I just hate the "but my character" card defence for justify being dumb.
