Maybe it's just my GM tendency to whip off NPC's quickly, but I tend to just go straight for simple boosting items. I'd go with:
+2 armor (4000)
+2 cloak (4000)
+2 belt of strength (4000)
+2 headband of intelligence (4000)
+1 ring of protection (2000)
+1 amulet of natural armor (2000)
= 20000
That leaves you 3000 for consumables, extra spells for your spellbook, and miscellaneous equipment.

1. I pay a group of adventurers to retrieve an item that I can then sell to a special collector for 32,000 gold.
2. Then I invest that 32,000 gold into a mine to earn 50,000 gold.
3. Then I pay a group of adventurers that 50,000 gold for an item that I turn around and sell for 100,000 gold.
4. Next, I invest that 100,000 gold in a series of stores and wait while I earn 150,000 gold.
5. Then I pay a group of adventurers 150,000 gold for a number of items that I turn around and sell for 300,000 gold.
6. I repeat step 5, only this time turning 300,000 gold into 600,000.
7. Repeat step 5 to turn 600,000 gold into 1,200,000 gold.
I then buy my own kingdom.

Great list. However, Kensai can't wear armor, so get 4 Pearls of Power I instead. Other that that, grab a Wand of Mage Armor, a Wand of CLW (or Infernal Healing), and you're set.

Actually, Kensei can wear a mithril chain shirt with no penalties. Unless armor rules are different in pathfinder.

A kensai is not proficient with armor or shields and suffers normal arcane spell failure chance when casting magus spells while armored.
Mithril Chain Shirt still has 10% ASF, so if you don't mind some spells failing now and then, go for it. I still think the Wand of Mage Armor has a much better cost/benefit ratio. But hey, it's your character :)

Not sure what peoples thoughts are on using 3.5 and Pathfinder interchangeably.

TwilightNothing that I could find, no.

Depends on your DM. In these forums, people usually assume PF only.
Edit: If you want a cheap, permanent armor bonus, try a Haramaki/Silken Ceremonial Armor. A +2 Haramaki runs for 2180 gp, with 3 AC and no downside. Cheaper than Bracers of Armor, but those go up to 8 AC. I still maintain my suggestion for the Wand of Mage Armor :)

With those stats, I go to a magic shop with great intentions. However, the owner pulls out a fantastic gold (and fake) sword and promises me it is the greatest and most powerful in the land. It will cost me $20000gold. My character didn't invest in Sense Motive because who does that these days? He buys the flimsy sword and takes it back to show it to his friends who groan again 'look what he wasted his money on this time!'

Uh... he has a 12 WIS. And Appraise is an INT skill. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here, but it makes none of the sense.

you sir, are a merchant lord with a plan.

you did ask

The most fabulous pants you can find.
also, the boundblade thing is a magus archetype right? which means no problem for spells in effective light armor?
Mithril breastplate all the way.
maybe a +1 Mithril Breastplate of Spell Storing? (8500)
your lack of needing to buy a weapon is interesting...
after that it's just your usual mixed bag of loot.
