In the depths of the night, your party hears an odd and eerie chanting coming from your sleeping bag. Normally, in the inns, there are mumblings, but nothing that was ever this loud. The chanting, despite whether it's voluntary or if you're even aware of it, grows louder and louder until it can finally be understood to the rest of the party.
"Ground control to Major Tom
Ground control to Major Tom..."

Well, your power comes from the great beyond, the elder ones, and not from the silly gods of the scurrying ants around you. It can give someone a bit of a superiority complex! Also, you receive your power from creatures that have nothing even passingly close to an understanding of the mortals of this world, so you'd probably be at least a bit mad. Laughing at things that aren't jokes, occasionally forgetting basic facts like how to eat a chicken leg or why there are dogs.
So... disdain for everything around you, mutterings that the world will end with the coming of the true lords of the outer beyonds, and mad ramblings about how trees would be better if they were more like chickens (while describing a shoe, instead of a chicken). And laughing at inopportune times!
You could also play it as a harmless stereotypical paranoid schizophrenic who hears voices (real), thinks people are out to get him (some, but not as many as he thinks), and has some odd habits/focuses like skipping on every 47th step and always eating plums with his left hand while apologizing profusely.

Speech example: Well, i hereby declare my person afflicted with powers not within control.
This is my haunted tapestry oracle who has a thing with words and is an asylum escapee. Going crazier as revelations will progress. My idea was since she heard alien voices and people thinking her crazy, she was sent to an asylum for most of her childhood and teens, going crazy while there. Which lends as a good vessel for the madness of the tapestry, and it's fun to rp.
A nice power to start with is Gift of Madness, it causes confusion. "Share the madness in your head."

I'm not crazy, my DM had me tested!
Seriously though:
This mystery can represent a devotion to one ideal, prayers to deities that support the concept, or a natural calling to champion a cause.
So the question to you is this: what cause are you the champion of? What dark and twisted voices echo through your mind, giving you strange shadow/void/madness/shapeshifting powers? What do they tell you to do? You could even guess at why, but good frickin' luck with that one.
"I didn't choose to be this way! I don't worship them! But they're too big to care about that, they chose me! Now I have these horrible, horrible powers!"
Praise Lord Helix!

^ I did the same regarding the aberrant eldritch heritage, as well as cross-classing into vivisectionist/mindchemist. However, my Dark Tapestry Oracle? His name is "J'aal Behcarazah". I've designed him to be so Lovecraftian the only way he could be crazier is if my tabletop circle hadn't banned the Synthesist Summoner. He's so crazy, he's perfectly sane. He has no tics, no odd habits, not even so much as talking in his sleep.

I'm playing an Oracle with Haunted Curse and Dark Tapestry.
However the DM and I changed the semantics a little and decided I wasnt in touch with beings from beyond space, but with ghosts and other beings on the ethereal plane.
No changes to the way powers work, we just changed the visual effect of some of them and the spells I cast.
Touch of Void, for eg, isnt the cold between stars but the cold of the grave.
Due to my affliation with ghosts, I've played a little bit crazy but in calm, listening to the other side before doing anything way. Some of my actions have unsettled the other party members.
Wierd things are further fueled by my having picked up a magic eye that allows me to see things that are really there (truesight), including into the Near Ethereal (does Near Ethereal exist in PF? It was a Ravenloft thing) so I see the ghosts all the time. When I appear to be talking to myself I am just being polite and talking to the ghosts around us.
The Haunting Curse, I decided, was very specifically my twin brother, who was still born, but has grown up with me anyway. My DM went with this with gusto and it has created some interesting encounters.
