I like the idea of doing a compilation. Keep in mind, most of our books have been set in a world where dieties abound...they compete for worshippers, as each one's power increases with more worshippers. That is why Orcus has become such a threat...
As followers grow in number and fanaticism, the power of the god increases. Destruction or conversion of another god's followers decreases their power and increases the power of the victor.
The sharing of this power with especially fervent followers is demonstrated by the use of spells, turning of the undead, and special abilities (like paladins have).
Steve--I think you just inspired me to write up a short work on this--perhaps a "Power Guide to Gods in the Lost Lands" or something...

While we're talking potentially new stuff, I wanted to pose a question to Bill.
With Mythic Adventures, any chance there will be some kind of Mythic conversions made up for RA or Tsar?
Both those Tomes scream for it, although I understand the time demands that would place on you guys even if it just was a conversion PDF for a handful of the "Boss" monsters.
Thoughts?

I actually love mythic, and would love to see support for it from Frog God Games. But that subject is really not part of this thread.

I think you'll see some Mythic in future products, to be honest. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, so to speak; but it does have fans. When we do use it, it'll be careful and deliberate. And it'll be isolated to places where it fits. For example, I think you should absolutely expect to see mythic stuff in the forthcoming line of short PDFs. That's a great place for a system like that - a small, self-contained, tightly focused product.
Something like RA, though? Aside from the sheer amount of work it would take to revise RA yet again, I don't think it's the sort of thing that really needs Mythic rules to be awesome. It's possible I could take a villain from RA (or RC or ST or...) and post a Mythic version on the blog as a thought experiment - oh, by the way, you'll start seeing activity popping up on my FGG blog - but I really don't foresee redesigning something of that scope.
Mythic rules are just another tool available to us during design - just like various templates, archetypes, non-core classes, and so forth. If it fits thematically, we'll use it. But we're not going to shoehorn it in just to say we used it.

Bill,
Mythic Adventures is a subset of rules for Pathfinder that are added on to the core rules.
This set of rules gives PCs additional abilities which makes them more resilient and able to take on greater challenges than they usually could at a certain level. In addition to gaining regular class levels, you gain "mythic tiers" by achieving certain milestones in a campaign.
------
Personally, I don't like the rules because it makes a complex ruleset even more complex, however since I'm no longer playing Pathfinder, having moved on to Blood & Treasure and S&W rulesets, I won't really have to deal with this.
The greater issue I have with FGG making adventures with mythic content is that S&W is about "Old school gaming is about the triumph of the little guy into an epic hero, not the development of an epic hero into a superhuman being."*
Since you usually plan for your adventures to come out in both rulesets, I'm worried that adventures with mythic content wouldn't translate so well to S&W rules and also wouldn't have the gritty feel that I've come to expect from FGG products

Never say never, but I wouldn't expect entire adventures - especially stuff the size of RA or Sword of Air, for example - to be designed with Mythic rules built into the base assumptions. Maybe you'd see mythic rules used on a specific encounter to make a monster or NPC more than the players expect. But you're right, tossing Mythic into something like Rappan Athuk from the ground up would change the entire "feel" of the adventure.
.
I think there's some interesting areas we can explore with Mythic rules. I don't think products like Rappan Athuk, Slumbering Tsar, Sword of Air, and so on are the places to do that exploration.

Even though he asked, you're wasting your typing with this explanation. I can tell you he probably glazed over in about the time you said it was a subset of rules.....lol :-)

What are rules?

Bill, good because I have some Egyptian figs and stuff that I have been collecting for quite awhile now waiting to use.
Greg--check out the Reaper minis for this--they have box sets of some other game system (I'll see if I can find out) that has minis just like the jackal guys from the Scorpion King movies; as well as sphinxes and other stuff--very cool models

Oh no--the Necropolis--and Khemit/Egyptian dieties in general, are VERY much part of the Lost Lands.
I have always had a strong theme on Egypt in my game. It was funny to read Anne Rice in later life--my vampires (for example) were almost always Egyptian. (e.g. Stygian from RE Howard). Wizards too.
Maybe it was Mesopotamia I was thinking of?

Both have been added to Dunes, updating any rules stuff (domains, etc) to Pathfinder as needed.
