Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Just working through the last 2 chapters of CD 1-6, then off to Chuck for layout. Goal is to get this in physical print by June. Errata compiled, edits made, consistency checked, maps updated, etc.

Lot of work, but well worth it. If you have the individual pdfs, the final will be even sharper. If you didn't jump on this, please give it another look when we have the books ready!

I don't quite understand the conditions here. Is it 6 or 12 chapters? What's the difference between 12 and 24 months?

the way it was originally set up, we were going to do one new chapter every other month. so you could buy a 1 year subscription and get the first 6 issues, or a 2 year, and get all 12.

Well, we blew that.

So, now, we're at the point that the first 6 are being compiled into a hardback book, to complete year 1. We will release each new pdf as they are written, and chapters 7-12 will be compiled into a Year 2 book, just like the first one.

To be more clear, for the complete Cyclopean Deeps, you would need to buy the 24 month "subscription", which also gets you 2 hardback books (year 1, issues 1-6, and Year 2, issues 7-12)

Ah that explains it, thanks. 2 hardcovers it is, then.

Meh. No big deal - it's not like you guys disappeared or stopped answering questions about it.

It's been worth the wait, in my opinion. Looking forward to the rest of the series too.

Lots of tentacles too. I think you all will be happy.

Just so you guys have some idea of what's in store for you, this is an edited tidbit of a table:

*If the characters are not in a region of Dreaming Mist, treat dream ticks and dreamslangs as “no encounter.”
**Roll 1d6 for each fossil independently to determine type: 1–2: serpentine; 3: human-like; 4: trilobite (5 feet); 5: trilobite (10 feet); 6: five-legged sabre-tooth.
#The first result of 10 indicates that the worm hunt is entering an area of Dreaming Mist; subsequent results of 10 indicate more such boundaries. Each character has a 50% chance to enter the Dreaming Mist itself, or that character simply is vulnerable to attacks by creatures of the Dreaming Mist until the hunt reaches the edge of the cloud again

And don't let the dream ticks bite.

Yeah... my routine is going to be jam-packed with stuff to do for the foreseeable future.

Huzzah!

Any chance I could get this shipped with the Lost City of Barakus Kickstarter book to save on shipping (to Canada) if I were to subscribe now?

Or get this book as an add-on during the kickstarter?

Any idea right now of size or price for the books (he said, bracing himself, given the previous Brobdingnagian tomes in the company's line)?

Cool

Publisher, Frog God Games

Laric-I'll add a pile of add ones during the KS, yes

Awesome! Thanks!

Readerbreeder - There will be an announcement on the price of the books soon.

Chuck,

Any idea if the subscription price cheaper than the price after the books go to print?

I'm trying to decide whether it would be better for me to wait and buy it during the kickstarter or get on while the subscription is still available.

Publisher, Frog God Games

It won't go away--hold off a bit

Ok thanks!

Dark Archive

what about "Rappan Athuk Subscription"? will that be printed too?

Publisher, Frog God Games

Yes

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber

Looking forward to it, and would love to see it as an add-on for the new Kickstarter.

Publisher, Frog God Games

Wow--I just read 6--creepy stuff Matt writes...

Hmm, so if I bought the subscription I'm already signed on for this right? Do I need to do anything else or will it just ship to me.

or should I say LURKING there????

j/k, nothing more needed on your part, we may send out address verification, but that would be about it. BTW, thanks for jumping in early.

Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

Just a heads up on CD (and the RA Subscription):

CD Swords & Wizardry went to layout. We have backlog right now, and after that we're sending it off to print. The goal is to get the S&W stuff back from the printer for our Trip to NTRPGCon in early June.

the PF books will go to layout early/mid April. They will (fingers crossed) be available in July, probably not in time for PaizoCon, but Im trying....

Make sure you give us the option to 'hold' the shipment if that is possible and practical. I am more than happy to merge these two books into other orders/kickstarter shipments so as to save you and/or me shipping money. I can always wait a bit.

If the book is ready by NTRPGCon, would it be feasible for those of us going to pick it up there (assuming we let you know ahead of time)?

Dav- we should be able to work that out.

PS Assuming they are ready.

Shadow Lodge

Will there be a PDF of the compilation?

Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

Kthulhu-

Absolutely. Its been edited and updated enough, the originals will be the "draft" versions, sort of a pre-tease. As soon as we get layout done, we'll get the pdfs loaded adn you'll have them.

SG

Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

Started the proofing process with the S&W version, which (fingers crossed), will be available in print first week of June.

Pathfinder version will be a little bit after that (swamped).
