Magical Items on a budget; what items are essential to buy / craft

Advice

Good Morning Fellow Gamers,
My magus decided on Craft Wondrous Item for his 3rd level feat, and have subsequently made level 4. We've returned triumphant to Magnimar, and I would like to spend my money on magical items. (Either Purchased, or Crafted)

I have roughly 2,000gp in assorted treasure to purchase/craft magical items with.

What should I get?

* My CON is 10, so I am tempted to save for a belt
* My armor class is low, so I am tempted to buy an Amulet of Natural Armor
* My spells run out quickly, so I am tempted to buy a pearl of power.
* Boots of Striding and Springing, and all of the ___of elvenkind magical items are on the table, and I intend to have all of the ones listed in the CRB/Ultimate Equipment book at some time.

Thank you for your time and input!

Very Respectfully,

Pearl of Power level 1 are the best investment. They let you cast shield every fight letting you save arcane point for second level spells like mirror image, witch are better than a handfull of HP.

Aside for that, if you are heavy dex based mithral chain shirt is a good option.
Else +1 TS mantle is always a solid option.

I like the cut of your jib.

I think I'll ha looking into the pearl of power as how I will spend my day in Magnimar.

Then turn my money into stuff that I can use in the future for components (I want a cloak of displacement ASAP.)

Scarab Sages

If your GM uses the standard rules for adding spells to your spell book, Craft a Blessed Book. It will save you immense cash over the lifetime of your character.

It is totally on my shopping list!

If you've got a DM with a devious streak, a Bookplate of Recall can be a sound investment.

If he metagames, then knowing you have it will either keep your spellbook firmly in your possession, or leave him a hook for some interesting plot twists.

It's also a fun thing to have if you know you're about to be captured and disarmed.

Take a look here.

Handy Haversack bag and two pearls of power.

My mage player positively hoards those littls pearls of power...a truly useful item for the adventuring mage.

I'm thinking of two pearls of power, and a cloak of resistance +1.

Or a pearl of power and the handy haversack.

(Handy Haversacks are almost ubiquitous in the campaign... it's almost like an adventurer tax. :p)

Your ideas intrigue me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

How about a Headband of Vast Intelligence +2, with linguisitcs as the integrated skill?

I like mostly what others already said: pearls of power, handy haversack, cloak of resistance, headband of intelligence.

If you want a custom skill enchantment I suggest you go for something of spellcraft +5, it will help you craft better things faster.
