Brilliant RP recruitment post.
What is a scholar?

It's roleplaying.

My build is in my alias, but my focus is on the RP.

Ok, I didn't look far enough. My bad.

Curious on something, and I imagine it's going to be a no. There's an archetype for the rogue specific to kobolds. I was wondering on the possibility of running it as a human? If that's not cool I'd like to scrap my Arcane Trickster idea and will apply with a Trapper.

Friends got back to me on the map thing. Unless everyone in the group has a roll20 account I'm not going to be able to handle the mapping.

Racial archetypes remain racial archetypes. I think it adds uniqueness to the races.

This is Vorshek again. I may take this wizard, change the race to sylph, and up her point buy if there is a quick time limit in recruiting. If not, I would rather go with the halfling rogue. I am in between two archetypes. Both are in the apg. I want to take the dual path mythic feat and take champion and trickster. I have a mythic build in mind that will really fit the backstory I thought up.

He's a halfling who grew up as part of a wandering gypsy tribe, and was trained in the ways of the sword there. However, always being at a severe disadvantage because of his size, he learned to fight dirty to make it an even combat. He still has the attitude and mentality of a warrior, though, and refers to his roguish skills as his "halfling techniques". He's proud of his heritage, and I'm thinking about taking the varisian tattoo feat, to reflect his life in the caravan.

Once he became an adult, he decided to make his own way in life, and left the gypsy caravan, taking a job working with Sandru, as a caravan guard. They got along extremely well, as they loved to drink and talk about tales of adventure and epic battles.

It was one of those talks, in fact, that inspired him to quit his job and take up the mantle of an adventurer, taking odd jobs around the city and asking Shalelu for information on where to look to find "adventurer hangouts".

He's currently staying in the Rusty Dragon Inn, waiting for a new job to pop up while he spends the last of his coin from working with Sandru.

I will come up with the alias and crunch sometime tomorrow or Sunday.

I like the Halfling.

Sovereign Court

I'm thinking dwarven fighter. Crusty, grumpy and all round dwarvish style. Will post once I'm back from work.

Maybe dwarven cleric but leaning towards a dwarven foehammer.

Me too, much more than the wizard, honestly. Halfling it is, then!

Ok.

I plan on putting a list of the applicants up tomorrow sometime.

Vorshek here, with the alias. I'll fill in the crunch and whatnot tomorrow or Sunday. But for now, here's a picture and a name! Emran Slyblade, rogue extraordinaire, at your service!

Background is in the charector link, double checking the point buy now, will redo the equipment slightly as well.

I believe everything should be updated properly.
A sample

sample:

He was just finishing up things at the stable. The festival was soon and the little bit of added coin would indeed be worth the sweat and grime of mucking the stables after brushing the horses. Again Calin was glad that ol' Daviren Hosk had good memories of his father. Between the man's stories (told with and between tales of goblin genocide)and his mother's journal it was all he knew of the man.
He left the stables finally, a light sweat coating his skin as he took off his shirt before he head torwards the small home he shared with a few fellows who worked the mill. It was a warm enough night out but the cool air certainly felt good as he made his way home. perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 when he barely noticed that dark haired beauty that worked down at the Pixie's Kitten and he blushed. Had she not been standing in the light near the entrance of the building he wouldnt have noticed her.He had indeed seen her before and been smitten at once, at the market. He had even gone so far as to work up the courage to inquire her name. Riessa, was as pretty as her name.

"Calm down Calin, she's a working girl, to please a lass like her you need coin, and plenty of it. He thought to himself as he fumbled with his key to the door. He glanced over and froze when he realized she was indeed watching him. Crimson flushed along his fair skin and he darted indoors breathing hard.

Working the mill's during the day and Mucking stalls at night had left him tired but he had promised his coworkers from the mill that he was going to meet them that night for one of the guy's birthday. It was just a matter of changing out of the dirty clothing now. He looked at the gear he barely wore now, except of course when the town militia was called in stacked up in the corner.

Hero's... ladies like hero's in the stories. He thought to himself. Maybe tomorrow evening he would ask ol' Daviren a little more about goblin hunting. Perhaps he could make a bigger name for himself, earn coins from such efforts and then he could...He shook those thoughts away, Plenty of time to dream of being a hero and getting the maidens to swoon tomorrow. He was late as it is.

A small sampling If you would like i could also post up an example or two of combat actions i have taken in that past so you can get some idea of that as well. I have seen some great entries so far. Good luck to all. As a side note, Calin would probably 'prestige' class into Paladin at some point or another barring roleplay reasons not to. I like to have an idea in my head but not get so pigeon holed on it that other options that may be better are dismissed.

What do you mean prestige? Multiclass?

Shalafi2412 wrote:

Yes if you allow such things. I put the ' ' since most paladins seem to start at first charector level. If no apropriate faith inspiring event happens, it wont really change all that much. Just the idea I have in my head for the fellow. It can be modified of course

Liberty's Edge

Here is my (sixteenbiticon) submission for this campaign. Taz is an elven alchemist (mindchemist) focusing on bombs that I created for another campaign which has since ground to a screeching halt.

I will alter his background slightly to fit the RotRL theme. He wears a mask and gloves to hide the severe scars he incurred from a brew gone bad, and he speaks with a lisp, which I enjoy RPing very much.

Story:
Istiel Jadanas has come far from her home in Kyonin. Sent with a mission to Mierani as a guard for the sage Qorinae, she journeyed to Varisia. Coming safely through Bloodsworn Vale, the party travelled downriver to Korvosa and took ship there for Riddleport.

On entering the Varisian Gulf, their ship was set upon by pirates, and after a long chase, they narrowly escaped - or so they thought. The receding tide put them on the rocks off the Fogscar Mountains, and the survivors were ambushed by goblins as they dragged themselves onto the beach.

Istiel and a few others managed to drive the creatures off, but the sage was lost in the confusion. The other survivors were sailors who had little interest in helping her find him. They were resolved to salvage what they could from the wreckage to build a boat and sail on to Riddleport. At last, she extracted a promise from them that if they saw the sage before they departed, they would tell him she survived and was headed south, to the nearest settlement she could find.

After a long trek along the coast, Istiel finds herself arriving in the little town of Sandpoint, a little after midday.

Background updated. I look forward to the opportunity of playing in your campaign.

Sovereign Court

Lokien Forge
A researcher who has come to Sandpoint for research. background to be updated later. This is a dwarvish researcher who can certainly hold his own in battle.

Had abit of fun planning this one out.

Is the knife master archetype ok! It's on the srd here

I have about 10 papers or so to finish grading. Once I do that I plan on posting the entries up by type, unless someone else would like to do that, just so we know where we stand in terms of submissions.

Is it ok if I take the campaign trait from Jade Regent that ties me to Sandru instead of one of the standard RotR traits?

Campaign Trait-Caravan Guard: You recently hired on to Sandru’s caravan to serve as a guard, but the job, while it paid well, gave you little chance to scratch the adventuring itch, since the caravan never really ventured into dangerous territory. You understand why Sandru avoided the more dangerous routes, of course, but that didn’t help assuage your urge to seek adventure.
You’ve just told Sandru that you’re quitting the job in order to try your hand at adventuring—he seemed to understand, and even gave you some good tips on how best to survive potential challenges.

Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Survival checks, and Survival becomes a class skill for you.

May I present Nar'a , shoanti witch.

What about starting wealth?

Hello Shalafi,

I have been trying to play in a Rise of the Runelords game for a looong time, so would like to throw Helgarr into the mix, and apply with her.

She has been created, and her background (still a work in progress, but I've tried to be coherent so far with what a Shoanti youngling would be doing in this region of Varisia) thought of to play in a Rise of the Runelords game, so I hope she complies with what you expect in a character application.

Any questions or thoughts, let me know ;)

Prego ;)

Okay, so I don't need the mythic books to play this campaign or do you want us to have them? A little back and forth I read in the thread didn't make it entirely clear to me.

It might be good to have. I would like to incorporate in time.

@ Helgar, tu parle italiano?

If necessary, you can read up the Mythic rules in the official or inofficial PRD.

What roles are you short on submissions for?

By Class
Melee
Purrin - Barbarian
Zrax'ir Greenscale- Ranger
Calin Moonbreeze - Figther
Davor Elan - Fighter (archer)
Velmora-Fighter
Istiel Jadanas: Fighter
Helgar: Barbarian
Lokein Forge- Fighter

Divine
Kasht Phaer - Oracle

Arcane
Megekki - Witch
Taz- Alchemist
Na'ra - Witch

Skill
Emran Slyblade- Rogue

Did I miss anyone?

I am really liking the quality of submissions.

Would you be okay with an admixture wizard? I ask because I know how powerful they can be, even with me not optimizing them that much, and if not I have a far less overpowered druid build kicking around.

Without knowing who you're referring to, that's good to hear :)

A question: assuming I'd be part of the game and we'd eventually progress to 4th level, would you allow Zrax'ir a reptile beast for a companion? I am not intimately familiar with Varisia's fauna, so I don't know if there are any dinosaurs or lizards available, but I'd love to see him riding one of those creatures instead of a pony :)

150 gp

Submit the mage if you would like. Or the druid.

Dumb pony. I wouldn't mind a raptor. Maybe you could go Mammoth Rider, lol.

I was looking at getting the pdf of the module and went to look at it. This is the price:

Add PDF: $41.99

Pathfinder Adventure Path: Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition (PFRPG)

No way!

Does anyone have access to the pdf or a way to scan the maps? I have the hardcover.

I only have the old version of RotRL as PDF, not sure how helpful those maps are. Probably not at all.

I really want to come up with a character, but I don't have the materials for when it goes mythic or the RotRL book
