The top books I would recommend beyong the CRB would definitely include the PFS Field Guide and UE as well as Adventurer's Armory for legal access to the Spring Loaded Wrist Sheath and a few other fun bits of gear that didnt carry over to UE. I would also add Seeker of Secrets for the resonant Ioun Stone option, Advanced Players Guide for legal access to Oracles (naturally) and Beastiary 1, believe it or not. In my experience, there are a surprising number of GMs who are still unaware that you can sneak attack constructs and undead (as well as other monster trait misconceptions) and having proof in your hands is better than getting into a debate over it.

I'm a big fan of the Inner Sea World Guide just so that I know where it is I will be playing.
Beyond that, Any of the hardback books will have options for you one way or another. As a player you may not need the Game Mastery Guide, but it does have rules that a GM should know.
For Oracles - Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Magic, Inner Sea Magic for spell options.
For Rangers - Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Combat for feats and Arch Types.
Pathfinder Society Field Guide, Seeker of Secrets, and Pathfinder Primer are also useful for knowledge and equipment options.
Ultimate Campaign has the largest collection of Traits for players that I have seen, and it has all of the traits from the APG in it as well.

Not so much for PFS play, but Distant Worlds and The Great Beyond are good references for the big picture to the Pathfinder universe.
Also, a lot of PFS adventures take place in Absalom so Guide to Absalom can be useful too.

Cheliax, Empire of Devils has a lot of really useful stuff in it, like, seriously I would recommend it for pretty much anybody. The ARG is pretty cool, and if you pick that up to play Aasimars or Tieflings, Blood of Angels and Blood of Fiends have really neat things in them for the two races, even if you don't play one of the variant Aasimar/Tieflings.

I'm going to give my suggestions in a tiered list. Tier 1 is books that will be useful to every character. Tier 2 is books that are handy for most characters. Tier 3 is made up of books for niche characters.
Tier 1:
Core Rulebook
Advanced Player's Guide
Ultimate Equipment
Adventurer's Armory
Inner Sea World Guide (Both flavor and crunch)
Tier 2:
Ultimate Combat or Ultimate Magic, based on which type of character you play most often.
Animal Archive for any animal-based class
Seekers of Secrets (Offers the Ioun Stones and variant Wayfinders)
Tier 3:
Advanced Race Guide
Blood of Angels/Fiends for those who play Aasimar or Tieflings. Also has some nice Curses for Oracles.
Taldor and Cheliax both have some nice traits, feats and spells
The Field Guide has some great info, plus vanities
People of the North has several great spells and feats, plus an Oracle mystery
Chronicles of the Righteous has wonderful info on the Empyreal Lords, a great prestige class for Oracles and some very nice spells

Halflings of Golarion is one of the finer splat books that I've read. It made me make a witch just to get access to the Evil Eye/Halfling Jinx bonuses, and made my barbarian dip into the Halfling Opportunist prestige class. Next I just want to make a slinger... just because the feat trees make slings much much cooler, not necessarily more effective.

Greetings, I just joined the paizo website after playing pathfinder in some home games. I am wondering after reading the Guide to PFSO Play (PFRPG) v5.0 download, it states that you need a copy of the resource containing the rules you want to use with you at the table.
Does that mean a physical copy? If I currently only have the .pdf files of some of the books, is it acceptable to print pages needed, or bring a device such as a tablet? Or do I need to purchase the hard copy books to be able to play in PFS?
Thank you.

To provide a slightly more complete response, a pdf of the relevant resource is acceptable as long as it is watermarked with your name or the name of someone from the same household. You may also print out just the relevant pages (for easier access to show if needed) again so long as they contain said watermark.
If you are bringing a tablet I would recommend bookmarking the pages relevant to your build, mainly so you aren't spending too much time looking something up to be able to show it to the GM.

Ok, I had the Core Rulebook. and lots* of peripheral bits.
On this pass I picked up Bestiary 1, Animal Archive, Blood of the Moon, PFS Field Guide**, and Ultimate Magic.
Looks like I already had the Faction Guide, APG, PFS Primer, and Cheliax, Empire of Devils at the least.
And I think I'll be shortlisting The rest of the Ultimates, Pathfinder Companion: Taldor, Echoes of Glory***, and maybe Pathfinder Companion: Elves of Golarion.
Is Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Magic any good for expanding an established Oracle?
I'd like to thank everyone who has participated and those who will participate.
M'Lady Sommer: Bookmarking is a very good idea, but I currently have the resources to print, and so I shall.
*I'd be very embarrassed to say how many items are in my downloads
**I got the Field Guide as Seeker says it has been superseded. Do I still want Seeker of Secrets?
*** I've been thinking about a char that is from Taldor, but dislikes their ideals and so is not of Taldor.

Very Well, I'll put Seekers of Secrets on the list. Likely ahead of the Pathfinder Companion: Taldor, Echoes of Glory flavor book.

I print out the pages for any of my characters and keep them all together in a presentation folio with individual plastic wallets. Many of them cross over duifferent characters. Then I keep the character sheet with Hero Lab profile materials in a separate folder to cut down on table clutter.
Two other recommendations for Arcane casters out there:
People of the North has the most excellent Snowball spell in it. Scales to 5d6 damage, no SR so it damages golems, save only to avoid being staggered, not against the damage and is level 1. Intensified Snowball is 10d6 damage at CL10 working just off a touch attack with a potential rider. Very worth while.
Cheliax Empire of Fiends is well worth it from level 7/8 as it has the quite amazing Emergency Force Sphere. Never leave home without it, esepcially if venturing into a 7-11 scenario, especially a season 4 one.

If you have a pet for the ranger the animal archive.
I recently Bought Animal Archives and i was really disappointed in the book. Granted there are few feats that would be a must have for mounted PCs.
EDIT: Can you provide a link to Cheliax Empire of Fiends? I cant seem to find it.

The magic items section was a real let down, but some of the tricks are really good, flank is almost a neccesity (and you need the book to have it), and the narrow frame feat is almost a must for large companions.
