Mythic Lunge Question

It confuses me how Mythic Lunge's "...gain a +2 bonus of attacks of opportunity you make while Lunge is in effect." but lunge states "You can increase the reach of your melee attacks by 5 feet until the end of your turn." main words being till the end of your turn, so how is this suppose to work?

Well, if you trip someone while you have the Greater Trip feat, they provoke an attack of opportunity from you.

It could also happen if you trigger a readied action on your turn, and that action provokes.

There are probably other feats or class abilities that allow you to create attacks of opportunity on your turn.

It is probably a fairly weak bonus for mythic characters, but there are definitely ways that it could happen.
