As I read more and more PF characters, races, archtypes, feats, and skills, I see the gulf between 3.5 and PF getting wider and wider.
Has anyone tried to port stuff from 3.5 to Pathfinder? I was considering porting over the Book of Nine Swords stuff, but the amount needed to be changed seems daunting. Feats don't work the same, skills don't work the same, and there are so many abilities available to Pathfinder characters that I am beginning to think there really is no point.
I can see they are compatible, but it doesn't look like its a good idea, even though they are.

OK, so is the Dreamscarred Psionics the source of psychic power in PF? Or does PF have its own Psionic stuff?
Path of War sounds awesome, I will have to get a copy of that!! Thanks for the link!!
BUT, that doesn't really answer the main question. How hard is it to port stuff? I have just made a few characters in PF is all, and things seem to be different enough to make it difficult to port things.
For example, if I decided to port a Dragonfire Adept to PF, what would be changed? More importantly, what else would NEED to be changed? I can imagine with the various feat changes (Persistent Spell is very different in PF compared to the 3.5 version, for example) that there would be quite a bit that would have to be changed.
Does Gestalt work in PF? No, wrong question. Is Gestalt (or any Unearthed Arcana stuff) really pertinent to PF? I see they have added stuff from UA as optional rules (hero points, traits) and even made one sort of core (weapon groups for the fighter... kinda).
Has anyone had any luck with this, or is it a huge time consumer? I have the ability, but not the time!!

PF will establish Psionics as a third "variant" of magic, equal and next to arcane and divine magic; compare e.g. Rolemaster with its Channeling (divine in PF), Essence (arcane in PF), and Mentalism (psionics in PF) magic.
There's a (several?) post(s) by James Jacobs about it, somewhere around here...

I take levels in warblade most of the time. The group that I game with say yes to about 90% of 3.5 stuff. I ran the numbers on the power of a pathfinder fighter and a warblade one time, and they are about the same.
About the only thing you need to change when importing a class from 3.5 is the skill list which is not that hard. The thing I have found is that for the most part pathfinder class have more power and get fun things every level.
A lot of the feats can be used as is. Others just take a little work and they are good to go.
