Cursed item! And up against a semi-cool SIAC.
I want an item, not a story.
I keep encountering one item that I absolutely hate. Mechanically, it's not a bad item -- it's just kind of mildly gross and thematically unsavory. No PC would want this item. However, I always have to vote for it because it's always paired up against a lame SIAC or something that curses you.

"This item has the same effect as a mid-level spell but it also makes the user's head fall off."
Completely omitted how to make it.

We're going to beat FAWTL, aren't we?
Another torc! This is madness! Who are you people? Did you bug my apartment? Help.

Just saw an item that did the same thing as my item from three years ago. It was more well-written than mine and had simpler mechanics so I voted for it.

Also, in addition to these admittedly meager abilities the item provides, if you wear it too long you will explode/melt into goo/go insane and kill everyone around you.

An item inspired by retro porn...

Swiss Army Knife or utterly ridiculous concept? Decisions, decisions...
No item slot. But you can put it in this slot for this effect.

No requirements, no formatting, just a description. Still better than the other one. How'd you do that?

Oh, you played through that PFS scenario too.

EDIT: ninja'd by mamaursula by 38 seconds ... <shakes fist>
"Slot none" and "Slot --" are fine. There was a discussion about this last year. The convention goes back and forth between books.
Ah, learn something new everyday ... Thanks Garrick. :)
I've read this item three times now, and I still have no idea what it does.

Unless...it's a dire badger ball.
I saw that one Perish Song, I thought it had potential but then I realized it had no format information, just the main text (I don't read the format part first, so it took me a second).
In other news, next year I am making an item used for keeping one's sense of humor while engaged in tedious, highly repetitive and frustrating tasks. I will call it Alcohol and it will not be a potion. So :-P

Ok a torc that activates when you die... Bingo!
Creepy item vs. useless item.

I swear I saw this item last year ... it was in the middling group then, still there this year.
I've noticed that retraining is a popular theme.
What's a For save? Are decimals as commas a European thing?
and I vote a different crap torc up again because the item it's up against basically charges the wearer with a card that lets the GM randomly screw them on a roll.

Badgers are boss. In a sandbox game about three years ago, we called ourselves "Company of the Badger" because we found a wand full of badger summons at 2nd level, and we ended up with badger banners on our pirate castle at the game's end. Badger all the way.

Items repeat. And I didn't see mine yet.
Yowza, all I did was go to bed for 8 hours.
After catching up on 500 posts, I am convinced my item is doomed.
99% sure one comment is about mine, and reasonably sure a few others are, too.
Am now wishing I'd gone with my first instinct on a simple mechanic and maybe done a different visual. Argh.
Beats being boring?

I have to confess I'm starting to like some of the creepy/gross items now. I blame Cosmo.
"Functions similar to [spell]"
Requires completely unrelated spell to make it instead.

Ah, the infamous item of more work for the GM.

Ok if you reference GM in your description your item is breaking immersion.
I blame Cosmo as well, especially for that yuck voodoo item I just had to read.
Another dimensional anchor item. Demonic influence.
OK, that one is a definite SuperStar Top 32. Good job!
