Warpriest base attack

Advanced Class Guide Playtest General Discussion

Just curious since the base attack is 0 (or one with the favored weapon) could you get a feat that requires the base attack +1 or no? Sorry if it was answered already.

Dark Archive

As written no because your BAB only goes up while you're attacking.

But I would allow it personally.

I would assume no. The only point of comparison we have is the Monk, which explicitly states it does not count for feat prerequisites.

Thanks I didn't think so but I wanted to make sure

The monk class has a clear indication of the limitations to the choices for the feats not just as combat feats but at specific levels that would indicate and associate with HD rather than BAB.

The Warpriest doesn't suffer these restraints as it gains open access to choose from anything listed as a combat feat. This to me indicates that it is written as intended and cannot qualify for combat feats he does not have the prerequisite BAB for. Even in saying this most of the bonus feats are gained at levels with appropriate BAB for combat feats at +4, +6, +9, +11 etc.

It would be really nice to see the Warpriest levels to stack at either 1 to 1 or 1/2 Warpiest level for the purposes of qualify for Fighter feats such as Weapon Spec etc as BAB is not associated with those feats.

Do bear in mind ekibus that because you treat the BAB as full when attacking with your Focus and Deity weapons this does mean Power Attack functions as if you where a full BAB character so take away some +'s.

A related question: Can the warpriest draw a weapon while moving at first level? Does it matter if he's attacking with it after moving? Charging?

I would also like it if the Warpriest could qualify for combat feats using level for BAB only with Sacred Weapons. If deprived of a sacred weapon, those feats go away, which seems fair in my book.

If not, perhaps a list like Monk bonus feats wherein they can take feats they normally don't have the prerequisites for at varying level intervals.

Bonus on Attacks with Sacred Weapons add to CMB too?

Lantern Lodge

Some CMBs use your weapon attacks, and for those yes. Otherwise, if it's not listed specifically, I'd wager that's a no right now.
