Currently in PFS, the only class allowed to wield firearms is the Gunslinger class. In the Advanced Class Guide Playtest, there is at least one class that has firearms mentioned in it. Is this a statement for those playing Pathfinder in general- or for the playtest, have the rules been amended to allow these classes to check for firearm balance as well?
I would love to have a Dev or PFS Rules God enlighten us with their wisdom on this one.
Thanks

Incorrect. Anyone with Gunsmithing and sufficient Fame can buy a gun.

If it hasn't been changed in Additional Resources or in the Guide to Organized Play, it hasn't been changed. Why would you think otherwise?

As per the PFS additional resources, for the Advanced Combat Guide-
) at the listed reduced price, but does not grant a discount on the purchase of any firearm. Resold items gained through this feat are worth half the actual cost paid, not half the regular market value for the item. No PC can purchase a gun without this feat, even if they possess the Amateur Gunslinger or Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearm) feats.
Also- the next area for "Equipment" states
So, seeing as Gunslingers are the only class allowed to have the Gunsmithing Feat... to this point... and seeing as I have yet to encounter a Chronicle sheet with a firearm listed on it.. I was wanting to know if there was a change coming in regards to allowing the Advanced Classes being playtested to be allowed the use of firearms.
Thank you.

Dylos,
The rogue talent that is copy/pasted is from Ultimate Combat in Chapter 5. Per the additional resources statement for Ultimate Combat
So, seeing as the use of firearms is still only legal for GUNSLINGERS in Pathfinder Society Organized Play...
Can we please find out from a playtest DEV or PFS Venture Capt/Lt., or other official rules type person from Paizo if they are going to allow this for the Slayer playtest class in PFS?

The rogue talent that is copy/pasted is from Ultimate Combat in Chapter 5.
This isn't correct, all of the new rogue talents from that book are in Chapter 1, in the Rogue section.
Rogue: The black market connections rogue talent and the driver archetype are not legal for Pathfinder Society Organized Play.
There is no exception for the gun-themed rogue talents, so they're legal.
Gunsmithing is in the Feats section.
Feats: The following feats are not allowed in Pathfinder Society Organized Play: Expert Driver, Field Repair, Master Combat Performer, Master Siege Engineer, Performance Weapon Master, Performing Combatant, Secret Stash Deed, Siege Commander, Siege Engineer, Siege Gunner, Skilled Driver,, and all performance feats.
The following two feats function differently in Pathfinder Society Organized Play than they do in regular games:
Gunsmithing does not grant the ability to craft firearms, ammunition, or black powder. Rather, it allows the purchase of bullets, pellets, black powder, and alchemical cartridges (with 1 rank in Craft [alchemy]) at the listed reduced price, but does not grant a discount on the purchase of any firearm. Resold items gained through this feat are worth half the actual cost paid, not half the regular market value for the item. No PC can purchase a gun without this feat, even if they possess the Amateur Gunslinger or Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearm) feats.
Nothing here says that this feat is restricted to gunslingers, so it's open to anyone.
Finally, if you look in the Advanced Class Guide section of Additional Resources, there are no restrictions or clarifications on the Slayer class itself. Everything there is legal.
Go forth! Have fun! Shoot things!
Also, as a side note, Venture Captains and Lieutenants aren't really "Official Rules People." Many of them have a great grasp of the rules and are a great rules resource, but not all of them can be expected to know all the minutiae and corner cases.
