Advanced Classes Synergy with Current Classes

Advanced Class Guide Playtest General Discussion

Scarab Sages

With the new Advanced Classes, ideas come to mind on how they would work out with multiclassing into the classes we have now. Some of these can help Paizo fix some of the imbalance or take look at some of the strengths of certain builds.

I can start out with a pair:

- Shaman 2 (Waves)/Sorcerer X (Rime-Blooded Wildblooded). Obtain the Crashing Waves Hex, Rime Spell Metamagic, as well as the Magical Lineage Trait set for the spell, Snowball. 3 Fort Saves to prevent Slow/Stagger/Prone, and a guarenteed Entanglement for 1 round.

- Investigator 3/Witch 2. Obtain the Amazing Inspiration Investigator Talent, as well as the Fortune and Cackle Hexes. Rerolling your Knowledge/Spellcraft checks, each with a +1d8, taking the better result. Advance a bit more in Investigator, and you can sort of reroll all your skill checks to make it stick.

nature shaman dip now makes WIS-centric classes very happy--their natures whispers give WIS to ac/cmd, replacing dex.

this means with a 1-level dip(?) inquisitors, druids, and monks become much more SAD, which is nice.

monks would also legally get wis to AC twice (once from the dex replacement, and once as part of the monk AC bonus ability). which isnt OP, by the way, since paladins can reasonably get cha to AC THREE times (oracle dip for sidestep secret/natures whispers (dex replacement), smite (deflection), and osyluth's guile (dodge)) and cha to saves twice (divine grace and the bestow grace spell)
