Darren will not be able to do Tide of Twilight, either, but I can play another character. I have a few characters in the window, so just depends on if I need to play high or low.

Sorry for my delay, folks! Been busy with doctor's appointments and the trees have begun their springtime biological warfare so now we're all fighting the allergy battle and trying not to get sick. I'll try and get your final post out today and get going on the chronicles.

Alrighty, thanks for the 'head's up'.

You doing okay, boss? No rush, just curious. Anything we can do to help?

bluedove |

I've been better, guys. Sick, stressed out, exams and other school deadlines looming... and now I'm being scheduled for surgery. >_<
But on a happy note, I did finally report the sessions and get the chronicles finished and emailed out. I might have to stall out on starting Tide of Twilight until I've gotten some tests out of the way. Sorry about that, I'll reassess this weekend.

bluedove |

My curious side wanna ask what kind of surgery, though leaving it unspecified is cool too.
lol! I wasn't being intentionally vague, just figured it's not very interesting. My docs think I need to have my gallbladder removed, but the ultrasound results implied I already didn't have one, which shouldn't be true... but might mean that it is permanently contracted and non-functioning. I am sick of being sick and in pain, so I will probably be having it done pretty soon. So here's hoping they find it! >_<
In the meantime, they don't want to schedule the surgery until I've had an Upper GI Endoscopy to ensure they aren't overlooking something wrong with my stomach. So I get to wait and do that early next week. Yay. Now aren't you sorry you asked? =P

Shifty |

I got mine out, BEST THING EVER.
Do not delay, do not pass go, do not pray to some hippy god and take lemon infusions, just get that sucker pulled.
The pain of a borked gallbladder ranges up to indescribable, and yes the sickness that comes with it is rather shpw stopping.
At least mine had the courtesy to just pack it in rather than subject me to drawn out illness etc. The first two times it went wonky they didn't work out what was going on, but the third time was the charm and that sucker got pulled on the spot :)

![]() |

Aah, the oooold gallbladder. Yeah Ive had mine removed as well. I got an infection in it and the docs said it was best to just remove it rather than let it stick around to just get infected again. They did an ultrasound of it, and I had a gallstone about a third the size of the bladder!! They were pretty amazed how it had managed to grow to that size before I even started feeling pain. When I DID start feeling it though. oh boy. The day it started, when I finally had to go to the doctors office, I had to ride my bike downtown. Every little bump in the road shot up through the bike and hit me like a knife stab in the chest.
Im with Shifty, that suckers got to go.

bluedove |

That is the general consensus, it seems. My folks both had catastrophic gallbladder issues that led to emergency surgery in both cases. Mine has been more chronic than acute and has been bothering me for something like a year and a half. I'd have weird bouts of pain, nausea and other issues for two or three days at a time and then it would get better. If I wasn't symptomatic when I saw the doctor, they tended to think the problem was something else, write me a script that did me little to no good and then send me home. My consult with the surgeon is scheduled now, so hopefully it will be done soon.
Goblin games are fun! I got to play Chuffy not too long ago... =) Even got the big, super-secret reward at the end... XD

bluedove |

Ok folks, much as I would like to go ahead and begin the next scenario, it's going to have to wait at least another week, maybe two. Being sick so much has gotten me a little behind on my course work and I need to focus on that when I'm feeling able to work.
Sorry for the false start, I can deactivate the threads and send out emails or PMs when I'm ready to get started again. Happy gaming all!

Wei Ji the Learner |

Like Shifty said above. Get better and get RL squared.
Also, Wei got some play time over at a local gaming convention, so for Tides of Twilight he'll either be at a 'high' table, or be playing down for the party. Either way is cool for me. Had a blast over the weekend at one point 'playing down' during the Overflow Archives and it... was an interesting experience.

![]() |

Also, this allows us to come to terms with the new journal sheets!

bluedove |

Well, I had my surgery yesterday and everything went well. I'm alternately sore and/or mildly loopy on pain meds, but since the procedure was laparoscopic, it should heal quickly. Semester is over and I again have the time to run some tables. Thanks for being patient, everyone!
So Tide of Twilight is up next, who all is joining in?

![]() |

I'm in. But Darren is out of sub-tier, so I will need to play someone else. Let me know where there is need and what is needed. I have a couple in tier that could come and play.

![]() |

Wow! That's good to hear! I'm up for it!
I'd taken in some trips over at a local con, got a bit more buff along the way.
Have the following folks available:
Wei Ji Sl3/Cl2 (Irori)
Agraic Shieldarm Barb2 (Still on the fence about Unchaining him, though. Would let you know before play begins -- Just made 2 and haven't played.)
Also, if needed I have a few other concepts I've been fiddling with that could come in at 1?

GM &rew |

BD - glad to hear your procedure went well and that you are on the mend! I've played Tide of Twilight before - but my brother, who is new to PbP and Paizo but has been RPing as long as I have, is looking for a good group of people to game with. I've been looking for opportunities to link him up with all of the great folks I've met - and you're top of my list =) His name is G'Boar - I'll send him this discussion link so he can check in with you!

![]() |

BD,
I must admit that I haven't read all 16 pages of this messageboard, but I will say that anyone who is posting the day after surgery is tops in my books! I am GM &rew's brother and always looking for opportunities to expand my pbp experience. Like Drew said, I am new to pazio and play by post, but have been involved in the 'scene' since the beginning of D&D. I have two first level characters currently created, Quinn (a female half elven huntress), and G'Boar (a male human Ranger). G'Boar is currently in Masters of the Fallen Fortress with DMK, and oddly enough, the same day I got the message to check this thread I got a note for Quinn to join DMKs running of the Wounded Wisp! I can always gen up a new character if you are in need of a round-out, so I stand ready to serve!
Thanks for any opportunity!
***UPDATE***
I am available, the other players ended up dotting in for DMK!

DM Kludde |

Much as I'd love to join, I'm going to have to pass on this one - deck is a bit too full with holidays coming up, and I don't want to slow the table down.
Best of luck, and enjoy it!

Aw! Thanks. =) Yep, if I remember correctly, we played Tide of Twilight together with Jorag and Capricornus running on the first Online Gameday PbP event. Which will also mean Vincenzo Moretti is out for this one since it's not a scenario that can be replayed with another character. Sorry Casper! =/
So far we have:
Heofthehills
Odo the Bold
Wei Ji the Learner
G'Boar Hulighan
I'll wait til the Mother's Day weekend is over before we finalize tables for sure. Maybe rouse some more folks to play, see if we can fill out an upper(4-5) and lower(1-2) tier table. ^_^

![]() |

Im not sure I understand. Do you mean that its a series and you have to run all of it with the same character? Is Jorag too high level for it?

bluedove |

No, I'm saying you've already played Tide of Twilight with Jorag. And unlike First Steps or The Confirmation, Tide of Twilight cannot be run multiple times for credit with a new character. You could play to complete a table, but not for credit.
• You cannot receive more than 1 player Chronicle and 1
GM Chronicle for the same scenario, regardless of how
many times you GM or play the scenario. You are free to
replay a scenario in order to meet the minimum legal
table size (see Chapter 7), but once you have reached that
limit, you do not earn any additional rewards beyond
having a good time.

![]() |

All that in mind, can we get a level check on characters so that we can figure out our tier? (I have one 2 and one 5, for the record)

![]() |

Wei Ji is a L3 Slayer/L2 Cleric of Irori tengu(L5)
Agraic Shieldarm is a fresh L2 Barbarian Half-elf(have not played an adventure at L2 yet) (Still debating on unchaining)
And then I have two 'stand-bys'
Brigid Half-Human, Half-orc Skald 1
(Name pending) Tengu rogue (Unchained) 1
Or I can bring in something else as needed but it'd be at 1.

GM Hills |

So, I see:
Odo, lvl 4 Paladin
Marco, lvl 3 Sorcerer
Quinn, lvl 1 Hunter
Shifty, lvl 2 Paladin
Hills, lvl 2 Melee or lvl 5 Investigator
Wei Ji, lvl 5 or lvl 2 (melee either way)
If we all played high, that gives us a 3.33 APL, having us play up. There is no 4 player adjustment, which is likely fine, since it's a year 3 and thus there is a chance for bad things, but a reasonable chance we manage well.
IF we all play the low levels, then it is a 2.33 APL, putting us in lower tier.
I am fine with either option, but we should know what our options are. If we play up, I worry that our hunter may have a hard time enjoying himself, and potentially our lvl 2 pally, as well. The flip is true if we play down, that Odo would likely be bored.

![]() |

I've never played 'up' before, and I'm a very conservative player at heart. I've played 'down' for a couple of modules already because of that.
HOWEVER!
I'm getting a good vibe from this group, and I'm not worried about folks ever being bored in a group as long as they remain *involved*, and would be willing to play 'up', too. Don't want to make it feel like it's something mandatory, we're here to have fun and work together.
I'd give a one-quarter vote for Play Down and a three-quarter vote for Play Up.
Sorry I can't boil it down further than that?

Shifty |

Actually...
If you play down, the higher level guys simply dominate the hell out of everything and the game simply becomes a session of the lower level characters putting on the kettle for a cup of tea while the big guys roflstomp the adventure without a sweat.
Playing up keeps the big guys involved, and the lower level guys still get to play, but they have to stay sharp. Given one of us is a ranged type it makes that even easier as they aren't frontline where the tier split becomes critical.
Count me in for UP every single day of the week :)

Y'know, thinking about it, Quinn and Shifty could be a good 'fire team'... someone to fend off folks if they get too close to the ranged... depending on how Shiftadin is built, of course...

GM Hills |

Ok, then, I'll be finishing up the finalization of my lvl 5 investigator (he had GM credit and AP credit that took him from 2-5 as soon as I hit 2...it was an odd occurrence)
And as a point of note, Pan does give a +5 to hit with his aid, in melee. Which he can do twice a round...and he has infusions. So he will be there to help the little guys.
