Is it possible to entangle oneself?

Rules Questions

Sczarni

If I cast Entangle(transmutation) in a near or distant area, successfully entangle my foe or foes, and walk into the area myself, do I then have to make a save from my own creation both upon entering and ending my turn?

Yes, but you could simply spend a standard action to dismiss the spell. Otherwise, freedom of movement is your friend.

I'm glad someone else is up as late as I am!

So I could get/create a Ring of Freedom of Movement beforehand and be golden?

Yep I've use this or similar tricks with both my Mystic Theurge (who'd use Black Tentacles, Solid Fog and/or Acid Fog in combo with FoM often while in Gaseous Form) and my Cleric Archer who'd take advantage of Entangle to create a zone around himself as protection.

The only time I've ever entangled myself is when I fumbled while attempting to cast a net. But I see you mean the spell Entangle and not the entangled condition.

It's easy to do. Just juggle some tanglefoot bags and you'll achieve it once you fail your Perform by 5 or more...

Grand Lodge

Absolutely. Unless it's specified specifically in the spell description, you're not immune to your own cast spells.

There's a feat for moving through magically entangling overgrowth I think

Mystic Stride.

and there's a ring in UE: ring of sacred mistletoe

Quote:

This tiny ring of living mistletoe coils about the wearer's finger of its own accord. The wearer gains a +2 competence bonus on Handle Animal, Knowledge (nature), and wild empathy checks, and a wearer with the woodland stride ability can move effortlessly, without harm or impediment, even through magically created or manipulated plants. This does not allow the wearer to move through solid objects or creatures.

Furthermore, the wearer can use shillelagh once per day.
