PFS at PAX Prime 2013

Are there any plans for PFS at PAX Prime?

I will be working Evenings and all Sunday for the RPGA, but want to get in some PFS during my free time, and not just the Con Delve/Demo (though I plan on finishing a PAXport too).

As far as I know - yes, there will be a PFS presence at PAX Prime this year. Although it may just be a refining of the one-offs from last year.

Going off of the call for volunteers on the local Seattle-area site (NWPFS.org), it looks like it'll just be the demos from last year, although I'll continue my usual chant of "I can run Bonekeep" and see if that turns up anything.

We have new demos to run this year, and Pathfinder Adventure Path Card Game demo's as well!

As always...we will be bringing the best of the best GM's in the region to make this event stand out as a great place to bring your gaming friends to have their first Pathfinder experience.

And for the diehards that complete all 6 events this year, we have another pretty awesome special boon that is only available at PAX Prime!

Come check it out, and bring a friend or two...this is how I got started ;p

I just recently finished my first PFS session and really would like to participate in the sessions at PAX this year - is there a specific schedule or anything I could look at to see when and where the games are taking place?

I, too, hold out hope that I could run a table of Bonekeep, but considering it's all going to be demos, I doubt we're gonna be doing anything but harassing people with goblins again this year.

Not that harassing people with goblins isn't an absolute blast, of course!

Hi Gibbon! I'll poke our illustrious VC and see if I can get the exact location for you. The games taking place will be quick little ~45-minute scenarios intended on giving people an idea of what Pathfinder's like without requiring a 5-hour commitment away from PAX. There are (I believe) 5 in total, and last year completing all 5 got you a rather nice PFS boon, so I'd still definitely check them out if you're in the area.

We have a very similar set up this year. Five new encounters plus the card game demo, all in the same basic time frame as last year. We have a platoon of GMs who will be standing by waiting for tables to fill (which, based on past experience, will not generally take very long) and starting as needed, no scheduled times. Just drop in and play!

Note that these are not PFS games, but Pathfinder demos. Players will be using 1st level pregens for the encounters.

Also... if last year is any example... the GMs are fairly laid back and will let you run a 'new' PFS characters... though mine was really simple...

I ran my 'Tank' (Sword and board Fighter; AC22) and he got dropped by the wall... but the monsters almost never hit him... He now has an almost paralyzing fear of walls and climbing...
