I know I saw a feat or trait or...???

Advice

maybe class feature - to reduce the armor check penalty of armor and/or shields. (I am looking for shields mainly, but right now I can't find the one I remember seeing for armor either).

So... probably something super basic I am overlooking and I will feel stupid when someone points it out, but how can I reduce the ACP of a shield (or suit of armor), aside from mithral, of course...

Silver Crusade

Armor Expert is a trait that does what you're saying, lowering the ACP of armor by one.

Masterwork shields also reduce the ACP of shields by one, and Darkwood lowers the ACP by another two without having to mithril.

Armor Expert lets you reduce armor's ACP by 1. Don't know if there's specifically something for shields.

EDIT: Ninjas ... *grumble grumble grumble*

Thanks! I knew I had seen that!

Scarab Sages

Sargavan Guard (Regional Trait) from the Inner Sea Primer does the same thing. This helps if you want to use the Combat Trait for something else.

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sargavan Guard and Armor Expert can both be taken, for a net 2 in reduction.

Later, you can add the Comfort enchantment to reduce the penalty by 1 as well.

ACP, one of the many things that lets me wonder "I wonder if I should have rolled a monk"

:P

But yes,

Armour expert, Masterwork (shield and armour). Also look at mithril or darkwood depending on what its made of.
