Monk Archetypes

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Is there an Archetype that a Monk can take that let's him Flurry with any weapon he/she is proficient with?

I don't know of one. You might ask your gm if he/she is interested, you could model a house rule after a trait or feat currently existing. I believe there is a feat that allows you to flurry with your dieties weapon, though a single weapon seems trait worthy.

Sohei i think.

6th level + sohei monk

What are you trying to accomplish?

Sohei can flurry with any weapon he has weapon training with, but can only get weapon training with a few weapon groups (notably not the best weapons).

There's also a feat that lets you do it, but its a little weird. Crusader's flurry Requires being a character who multiclassed to get the channel energy class feature. Zen Archer flurries with bows and Sohei gets a selection of flurry involving ranged weapons and polearms, but both of those are very different from the normal monk.

Good gods you give up a lot by taking that archetype! I'm not sure the loss is worth the gain....

Yes, you read an archetype and what they get is just perfect to round out the monk to actually be good at something...then you read what they lose, and the restrictions, and you just feel the unrelenting pain that is being a monk-lover.

Yes Indeed... looking over it's quite painful. /sigh

Oh well.
