Alchemicals - no. I am sure of that one. I think its the same for bombs. Not sure about alchemical extracts and mutagens. I've never played an alchemist. I do know that the bombs bypass SR and are not considered spells.

Brother Silas Benedictine |

No to normal alchemical items like thunderstones and sunrods and such.
When an alchemist creates an extract or bomb, he infuses the concoction with a tiny fraction of his own magical power—this enables the creation of powerful effects, but also binds the effects to the creator. When using Craft (alchemy) to create an alchemical item, an alchemist gains a competence bonus equal to his class level on the Craft (alchemy) check. In addition, an alchemist can use Craft (alchemy) to identify potions as if using detect magic. He must hold the potion for 1 round to make such a check.
An alchemist can create three special types of magical items—extracts, bombs, and mutagens are transformative elixirs that the alchemist drinks to enhance his physical abilities—both of these are detailed in their own sections below.
This is a section of the alchemist class, which seems to strongly suggest mutagens and extracts would indeed detect as magical. There's nothing that says anything about ID'ing them, but I would wager the strength of their aura would be like any other magical item, with an aura as strong as the CL of the alchemist who created it.

i was thinking of taking enhance potion discovery. Not a very powerfull discovery but an interesting one, besides since its a freebie taking something that was unplanned is fun. I dont see Doc learning something bomb related form Hoffie but potion, why not.
Enhance potion it is, eternal potion at lvl 16 here i come.

Zinny Holbern |

Zinny is not opening the door because there is no agreement right now on whether the party wants to try and fight, or negotiate, and it seems like the sort of thing she should know before she charges into the room with a club upraised.

Grizelda Blau |

I was just waiting for more of the party to weigh in on what they want to do so we could reach a consensus. Grizelda or Doc can speak to them through the door potentially if we want. Or we try to rush in and get them at weapon point and then we can try and negotiate. Or someone else has a plan? Grizelda just wants to be sure she is A) Not the first one through the door, and B)Going to get a shot at speaking with the kobolds.

Tomid |

Admittedly Tomid is a little impulsive. His normal propensity to talk is muted by his inability to speak the language and his conviction, regardless how right, that these kobolds are murdering monsters.

Tomid |

This boils down to Grizelda wanting to talk and Tomid not wanting to loose the chance to surprise the Kobolds. He is not convinced that talking is worth giving up the advantage of acting first. Still, since Grizelda acts before Tomid, he is willing to change his action to a move and ready - ready to shoot if the Kobolds act aggressively. This likely means he will loose his sneak attack and may miss since a 15 had a good chance of hitting a flat footed opponent but not one that has acted.

Grizelda Blau |

I honestly didn't see his move until I was about to post what I had worked up. No one was really biting when I wanted to talk strategy, so I expected we'd just go in and see what happens. I just look like a bit of a schmuck calling for a parley and then death-by-halfling immediately descends, lol!

Grizelda Blau |

Yeah, she agreed that Tomid's conclusion is likely, but remember miners can be killed in self-defence. So Grizelda says we don't have enough evidence to conclude they deserve to be Killed On Sight, plus knowledge is always her goal. ^_^
Trust me, Andy is familiar with my tendency to say "Oh goody, Kobolds! Let's have a chat!" XD

Zinny Holbern |

If it helps, I view the confusion as being IC, too. I mean, just because our characters are level 2, now, we're still relatively normal people-- we're not trained soldiers, and we don't have a clear chain of command-- we're a ragtag mix of bar-staff and librarians and apothecarians*, etc, so the idea that we might wind up opening the door with a huge misunderstanding of our mutual intentions is kind of fitting and hilarious to me.
* is that even a word

Hugo Smith |

Lol, that Gallagher footage is pretty accurate, although it seems you have linked to footage of Papa Smith as opposed to Hugo Smith :P

Doc Ginley |

I would like to start with an apology for my absence, you all work hard at creating this amazing game with wonderfull characters. You deserve praise for helping create such a beautiful gaming experience. It was unfair of me to be silent for so long. I have recently been given the opportunity to work for a great local company beyond my current professional qualifications, the expectations of my new employer are high and I aim to meet them. This opportunity is too great to squander. A lot of my personnal time has been funneled into bettering myself and learning the skills I now need in order to keep and prosper in this employ. I will do my best to finish this quest with you all but I believe I will have to retire from this group afterward, at least for a year. Thank you all for making this online experience so rewarding.

Hugo Smith |

Sorry to see you go, gonna be a great hook for a story if / when you return though :)
Atleast Doc has family to worry about, its not like it wouldnt make sense for him to stop taking chances like this

GM &rew |

Doc, your character has added a fantastic side to this story - and we'll miss you!! Congratulations on your new job - wish you all of the best!
For everyone else - I will be travelling out of the country next week, so my posts may be affected. My intention is to keep everything rolling =) I have most of the maps created and saved to my Google drive, but this is a work trip so we'll see how my time goes =)
After this adventure we're down two from our original group. Party of six is a good size. We now have a wizard, a cleric, a bard/rogue, 2 fighters, and Silas (sorry, bro - but you have to admit that you are in a class all your own!) I think we'll stay with the current group - you certainly seem to handle yourselves well enough. Thoughts?

Hugo Smith |

Agreed. Cant say im happy to see anyone go, but I must admit I was sceptical originally with an 8 man party.
Ive no idea where Silas intends to take his path levels wise, but with his choice of god, id personally suggest Ranger maybe, possibly an Archer? Heck it would even be cool when he gets spells, not alot, but just that bit because of his growing devotion. Not a real cleric, but still touched with a spark of divine power.
Im just speculating though, dont wanna intrude.

Brother Silas Benedictine |

Sadface, Doc. You shall be missed. Come back in a year!
And honestly, Hugo, I don't know either. Current plan is to keep trucking as Daggermark's greatest liar. The ranger thing didn't pan out well for him, but it is on a list of options.

Well, sorry to see you go! But congratulations on the opportunity, hope it works out!
I'm also good with keeping the group as is. My question is how do we work Doc out? Or should he be GM-run during key points in the current adventure?

Zinny Holbern |

As a heads-up, my laptop's power adapter seems to be missing. I'm hoping it will turn up in short order, but until then I'm on battery power with minimal computer time, so I may be slow to post for a while. I suppose this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back of forcing me to get my PC's screwy connection sorted out again....
Should you need an action from me, Zinny will just follow along with the others, listening to the Wiser Heads as for what should be done.

Tomid |

Hi all. I am back from the con. I played nine 5 hour slots of PFS and averaged maybe 5 hours of sleep a night for four nights. I'll be doing my best to catch up on everything and post tomorrow. Its good to be back home, and back with the game. :)

Hugo Smith |

The stick reference was sort of an inside joke from another campaign GM and I are in. ^_~
Lol, and an actual Kobold refernce, seems it was destined to be!

![]() |

I'm here! The last time I checked in it was a fight between everyone but me. Just hard to sit down and post. You may notice that all of the posts on my other accounts have been one or two sentences and a combat roll...
