Yeah! Top of page!

I am in a Star Trek mindset.

But this is unhelpful as I need to prepare the GM IRON GODS.

Do you ever have this problem?

If you do, how do you twist your mind back onto the right setting?

I usually dont have that problem but when I do I read materials on the setting that my mind need to be on...

So anymore questions for me?

This season always brings a little depression for me (which lately is just another thing to add to the pile) due to loneliness...

I try to be happy for other people though...

Yeah...3 of them...

1) Quit Smoking...

2) Loose weight...

3) Find love....

Hopefully I get one of them...

I don't smoke, so all I can do there is Stare In Judgementalness, and I found love already, but I shall join you in Number 2! I am down to a svelte 350 lbs already, though (don't ask what it was before).

You see it is that 'Stare in Judgementalness' that makes not want to quit...heck I am going to smoke right now...

You found love? Share?

My mother was the same way, yeah. She smoked for years because people didn't want her too. I have waist length hair for much the same reason.

And yeah, I'm married.

Don't do eet! You can always use gnolls and pugwampis for any encounter, after all.

When you can have steak, why bother with anything else? >:)

But, getting Pugwampi hooked on tobacco products will take forever to cook them.

If you work out the surface area, the 18" is slightly larger.

Which bounty hunter in The Empire Strikes Back is wearing an old costume from a Doctor Who episode?

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

How much can a work be changed, and still be a variant for the work?

For example: in a Star Wars RPG, how much can the setting be changed before it is no longer Star Wars?

Lord Fyre wrote:

No idea I am not a big fan of Dr. Who...

That is a tough one...and I think setting dependent.

The less developed a setting is the more you can play with while remaining true to the original...however you have to be very careful when when you start developing established rule within the setting...

For instance the Force in Star Wars is a cornerstone in that setting...changing how it works would make the setting Not Star Wars faster than revealing that R2D2 was really a small tech alien and it's vehicle would.

So basically if you respect the cornerstones of the setting you can do alot.

Sometimes even the setting's creator(s) can get this wrong. :(

Very True.

I think he did what he did because everybody called Star Wars a sci-fantasy and Jedi space wizards. Also probably the whole Jedi religion thing might have freaked him out so he tried to root The Force more into sci-fi.
