Hello everyone! I'm making myself a Mad Dog Barbarian with a Roc Animal Companion for Society. I'm trying to come up with a back story for him. Thing is I'm not sure what region he will be from since I don't know where Rocs can be found in Golarion. If someone knows this little bit of trivia I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance those who respond.
Their ecology section says "warm mountains" and it mentions elephants as their prey by name. So that puts them in Qadria, and all of Garund (Sargava especially looks like roc territory).

Thanks Glutton. Don't have a character who whose faction is Quadiran before. Though how well he'll do on the faction missions will be interesting since he has no Diplomacy. Plenty of Intimidate, but no Diplomacy. Then again I know a guy with a monk who seems to get by with no Diplomacy and a negative Charisma Mod as a Quidiran.

Rocs (or Rukhs) in RW myth are native to the Indian Ocean, as they come from the Sindbad legends. And Golarion has a close equivalent in the form of the Obari Ocean. They may have been inspired by the giant birds (now extinct) of Madagascar. This suggests Jalmeray, Nex, and Katapesh to me, as well as possibly some off-the-map islands near Garund, as well as Vudra.
If you're doing Society play, Qadira does work, but Osirion might also...
One of the Kngmaker adventures has a roc nesting on top one of the mountains near Restov, south of Brevoy. There are mammoths around for it to hunt.
