My halfling paladin has a +1 lance, what enhancement is next?

Advice

Sovereign Court

My halfling paladin is getting toward 7th level and has almost enough gold to purchase an upgrade for his +1 lance. He's a mounted paladin, with ride-by, and spirited charge.

Or ... should I save the gold and get something else?

Lantern Lodge

Id say get Holy then ghost touch or vise versa if expect ghost encounters shortly.

Both of those do depend on what type of campaign you are in. But the are both close to universal. I'd go with ghost touch first, when it matters it matters a lot.

Even without ghost touch a spirited charging smiting paladin with a holy lance is going to one shot almost any incorporeal critter.

Enlarge Person?

Magic Fang x3/d?

I would put Greyflame or Thundering on it, both seem pretty fun.

This character is most certainly about fun, although I still like to be an effective party member. I've kind of modeled his personality after Wallace from "Wallace and Gromit" (I RP his bonded mount not unlike Gromit, as well, rolling its eyes a lot).

Sczarni

I'm guessing you took Divine Bond(mount), not (weapon)-- Merciful is a nice property for a Paladin who can't invoke it at will. Spell storing is nice too, though Paladins don't really utilize it as well as other classes.

I'd say just give it another +1. More damage and fewer misses is hard to argue with.

Scarab Sages

Going to a simple +2 nets you an extra 3 damage when you charge, and it can still be multiplied on a crit. Keen is a +1 bonus and doubles your critical threat range, so that's good. If you've got a theme to the monsters in your campaign, Bane is also potentially a very good enchant.

You improve your weapon. After +1 comes +2. That increase in enhancement bonus stacks up to get you past DRs when you aren't smiting, gives you bonuses to hit etc.

The only exceptions you might make are those that boost your damage impressively. Holy is nice, but not essentially.

I vote for Holy, unless you know who the major bad guys are in the campaign, in which case Bane.

The best one is to go to +2, unless you are a barbarian, then it is Furious
