Party Composition?

Advice

Shadow Lodge

Hey all,
I'm trying to pick a character for a new campaign I'm joining, but I'm struggling to pick an appropriate class, because they seem to have all of their bases covered.
We have a cleric who can provide heals and buffs, a summoner who will handle control and arcane magic and will likely be the party face because of his charisma (as well as his ediloin who will be a melee fighter) and a fighter/tank sort of person.
I can't really find a hole to fill in the party, seeing as traps really won't be an issue for us (because of the campaign) and everything else seems to be looking good. I was wondering if you all had some suggestions that could help guide me in the right direction.

Looks like you need a ranged attacker...

Inquisitor, Ranged Paladin, or ranger would all be great, IMHO.

Ranged rogue or ninja (alternate for rogue) or any class that can range for that matter. Make an archer fighter lol. But a summoner spell list in the arcane? really haven't looked at it but aren't they more towards sharing with his edilion?

You appear to be short of some skilled characters as well as ranged attacks. So I would think that Ranger and Inquisitor as suggested by Gerald or possible Bard. Particually as this could fill in some holes in the Summoners spell list.

Which ever looks like the most fun to you. Currently playing a paladin and an inquisitor and having a blast with both.

Since you don't have any debuff, Witch is a solid choice. It looks like you could also use a Bard, a Wizard, or maybe a Gunslinger.

As much as I love a well-balanced party, party composition isn't everything. In this circumstance, you have a wonderful opportunity to play just about any character you've ever wanted to try.

Take this list of classes (I've already removed Cleric, Fighter, and Summoner) and delete the ones you don't want to play:
Alchemist
Barbarian
Bard
Cavalier
Druid
Gunslinger
Inquisitor
Magus
Monk
Ninja
Oracle
Paladin
Ranger
Rogue
Sorcerer
Witch
Wizard

Agreed.

Sounds like Blueluck has it right, you've got a lot of flexibility with what you can choose. Which probably makes choosing even harder. I'm leaning in the direction of a ranged attacking bard personally, since all those knowledges can come in handy, too. And maybe prestige class into dragon disciple at some point, though there's a lot of ways you can go with a bard.

I will second the Bard archer. It is a great combo. More buffs/debuffs/skills and a ranged guy. Covers all you bases. With Inspire courage, haste and others your party will love you in combat and with all the skills you will be great out of combat. Then you just enjoy plinking guys off getting all the great bonuses for yourself too.
