Is a Phalanx Soldier Fighter + Skirnir Magus Multiclass Build Viable?

Advice

I'd like to try playing a shielded spear fighter/magus who can deliver spells through his spear, and it seems like Phalanx Soldier's "Phalanx Fighting" plus the Skirnir's "Shielded Spell Combat" would allow me to do that (albeit at somewhere around 11th level.)

Is this a viable build, and if so, is there a way to do this before 8th level?
Would it be better to start off as a Phalanx Soldier, or a Skirnir Magus at level 1? I'm assuming that the best race for this would be human due to the extra feat and versatility (which is fine as that is what I have in mind anyway).

Thank you in advance for any advice or helpful builds!

yea, we were looking at this earlier in another thread. seems like it might be cool expect the skirnir waits so long to get shielded spell combat.

You can still deliver spells through your spear before 11th level tho. because technically all you need is spellstrike for that.

Shielded spell combat works a little different tho too, it's not "spell combat with a shield" so it kinda messes up the purpose of the build.

I do not know how optimized can be this idea but take a look at some build form the ravingdork emporium

Obrist Lang by Ravingdork.

25 PBS. Excellent Character.

Ninja'd do to my lack of speed...

a build is one thing, how well does it actually work is another. Losing the ac from the shield to spell combat is pretty lame, kinda steals the reason to be a shield magus, and if he's not using his shield due to spell combat, can he wield his spear one handed? Because that relies on him using his shield....

The whole thing in practice mashes up like gravy in your fruit salad.

Skirnir loses normal Spell Combat and instead gain Shielded Spell combat.

And can still gain a Bucklers benefits.

Does Obrist have one too many bonus feats?

1. Human
2&3. Fighter 3
4. Magus 8

Do a Dwarven longhammer or longaxe count as polearms for the phalanx soldier?

yea but you cant bash with a buckler, and a phalanx soldier with a buckler?

That's like a barbarian in a bikini...

9 Feats:

Human: 1
Fighter: 2
Levels: 6

Not sure about Dwarven weapons.

As long as it's a female barbarian in a bikini, I don't see what the problem is.

BUT THOG WANT FEEL PRETTY TOO

Would a ring of force shield make this more viable?

well, you can wield it like a shield. not sure though.

A Buckler could be thematic... It would allow them to switch between 1 & 2 Handed Wielding.

Also you can still use spell combat and wield your spear 1-Handed.

Though I think Straight Skirnir and use a Shortspear.

That said Spell Combat doesn't need to be used for this theme to work.
