Hey folks, after looking at different classes that deal with necromancy such as the Witch, Wizard specialized in it and the Bones mystery Oracle, i started to wonder if a more pure necromancer concept was possible.
Considerations at this point:
1) This Necromancer would be allowed access to all necromancy spells regardless of whether they are Arcane or Divine.
2) Is there a precedence in PF that makes #1 feasible?
3) Some of the abilities of the Bones Mystery seem applicable, but i don't want a copy/paste.
4) Conjuration would seem part and parcel regarding the Summon spells, replace with undead appropriate to the power of the Summon Monster sort of thing.
5) Might it be a better option to go the route of a Charisma based ability for the concept, similar to the Sorcerer?
6) Considering earlier access to Animate Dead and the Create Undead spells.
7) Give the Necromancer abilities that either increase saving throws to ability drain/energy drain effects or immunities.
8) Thinking of leaving the weapons/armor use stuff as a wizard would have.
9) Would an Aura be appropriate, something akin to the Aura of Life(Su) given to the Undead Scourge from the APG?
10) Does making his/her abilities more difficult to resist make sense for the concept or just rely on spell focus and greater spell focus?
That's all i got for now, but basically pure necromancer with a touch of conjuration is my original thought. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We did a free product that was a vodoo style bokor that is very necromancer-esque in it's theme. Link.

Interesting concept i'll give you that. Unfortunately, it's not quite what i envisioned for the concept. Lol, and that Soul Drain is fairly potent especially as an at will ability.

There's the Sacred Necromancer by Zombie Sky Press. This satisfies #1, #2, and sort of #3. One of the Callings in it gets access to the Bones mystery revelations. Journeyman of the Pale Path sounds like the calling you'd want, although I don't recall if they received the bones mystery revelations or not. This is a class based on the Oracle's chassis. Disclaimer: I wrote about half of that one.
The Death Mage by Super Genius Games. This one is also on d20pfsrd.com, and you now have all the information necessary to find it :)
The Death Knight also by Super Genius Games is a more martially focused guy. It contains some "summon undead" spells, and you can see the developer's thoughts on them in the discussion thread. After playtesting, he found "just summon monster, but undead." to be too good, so made a special version.
Kobold Quarterly has a "white necromancer", but it sounds like you're going for a black necromancer.

Hmm, i was thinking more along the lines of what would be a grey Jedi, more neutral in the concepts approach to necromancy. Channeling Negative Energy would be automatic considering the animate and create undead spells. As far as an npc who is an enemy of the character and/or party, definately Dark, from the bad guys perspective ;)
@Blackbloodtroll: Sanguine is the Bloodline? Which book is that bloodline in so i can reference?

The only pathfinder way to do this is what BBT suggested - Mystic Theurge. I agree with Oracle/Sorcerer but realize that Mystic Theurge tends to not be all that stellar of a PrC, but you should be able to make it work if you really want to.
Also to clarify a little more 'dotting' a thread allows you to more easilly find a thread in the future. You might not have anything specific to say at the time but the thread is of interest and you may want to reffer back to it later.

Ok, good to know going forward, thank you :)
As it stands now, with the books i have available, the route of Mystic Theurge seems to be one of the better avenues to take. On the side, i have at least written down a couple of things i could envision a pure necromancer having:
Deathwatch (Sp): At will, the Necromancer can use Deathwatch, as the spell. As a move action, he can concentrate on an individual within 60 feet to determine its status.
Dark Mending (Su): As a standard action, the necromancer can place his hands on the target undead to remove injuries. This ability can heal 1D6 points of damage +1 per two caster levels. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to 3 + INT or CHA modifier. As this is still very much a work in progress, i havn't zeroed in on which stat this concept will work off of yet.

Has nobody mentioned the Undead Lord Cleric? That seems 100% Necromancer to me. Raises undead army, channels negative energy, the whole shtick. It's hard to get more necromancer than this guy in pathfinder.

I would suggest converting Dread Necromancer from hereos of horror. There are multiple of those floating around if not up to the task yourself.
As how it files up to the questions.
1) Yes in a way, it has class ability advanced learning that allows it to learn any necromancy spell from wizard/sorcerer or cleric spell list. Limited amount though.
2) Not related to particular class. Otherwise, I am not awere of one but I would not be surprised if some 3rd party class would.
3) Well the class does have some abilities that support the theme, the major being journey towards becoming lich.
4)Actually in the same book they created summon undead spells.
5) Charisma based caster. Both have their strengths and weaknesses when talking about the theme.
6) My major gripe with the class even gets them at the same time as sorcerer.
7) Has them.
8) One martial weapon profience and can cast in light armor. So not really fit here.
9) Has fear aura. I assume you mean as a reverse, it would fit the theme for sure.
10) I am fan of the DC 10+1/2 class level+ability modifier. Spells naturally as usual.
So all in all not a perfect fit, but pretty darn close especially if you are willing to tweak it for your purposes. Also has the highest undead HD limit of any class. Only thing coming even relatively close is mystic theurge.
One conversion the best I have seen, only things to change is the fortification, since undead are no longer immune to critical hits.(I would suggest resist 5 cold and electricity) Also the spell list needs some work, especially if you do not want to convert spells.

A "True Necromancer"?
Necromancy: a method of divination through alleged communication with the dead.
You don't need much. Just some spell or ability that allows you to speak with the dead. Bam, dictionary definition of Necromancer.
