Don't do this, this much information may identify you to your item. Please don't disqualify yourself in this way.
I know it's exciting.
I know it's hard but do practice keeping schtum. You might end up working under Non Disclosures so by keeping quiet you show your professional ethic.
Say no more and wait with baited breath like the rest of us.

It's funny, that's actually exactly the thought I had the evening after I made this stupid post. I've been away from my computer all day, and I've spent every free moment fretting and hoping that I don't get disqualified because of a nervous outburst. x_x

Don't waste too much energy fretting - that won't do you any good. Your submission is in, and the dice are rolled. And all it takes is a few more short submissions to make it impossible to figure out which one was yours.
Remember that for most people, their first RPG Superstar is a learning experience. I submitted for three years straight before breaking into the Top 32, and each year, I poured over the message-boards to learn more about how I might improve my chances.
I would recommend that you start reading up on the vast amount of advice out there. Browse through the forums for the previous contest. Listen to the recording of the judges giving advice at PaizoCon. Join the practice thread that usually pops up around April.
And...start working on your archetype. Act as if you were guaranteed a spot in the Top 32. That way, If you do make it, you will be able to bounce back from the initial shock much faster.
Best of luck.

Gnoll Bard, I understand your pain. Its always 10 minutes after you submit that you find that concerning detail you wish you could have tweaked. Those of you that have yet to submit. I recommend making your item and setting it aside for 24 hours before you commit it. Read posts, check your spells you used, look for items like your idea to see if your too far outside the money, spell level or just plain outside the formatting box! Then return to your sumbission you plan to send and give it another review to make sure your 100% happy with it. Your the best you are... there is no editor, proofreaders and so forth helping you find your errors prior to it hitting the market shelf. So focus on your concept and give it a go as best you can. Good luck new folks to the comp and welcome back everyone else to the big show.
Good luck and may yours submissions be golden.

Honestly, I'm actually pretty happy with my item. I was sweating bullets while hitting the submission button, but since I've had some time to think about it I really do think I did my best. I don't expect to win, but I'm proud of what I put out there; now I'm just worried about disqualifying myself before anyone even gets to see it. >_<

I remember that feeling. I submitted the day I wrote it and waited in agony for weeks. My first glance at the finalist list told me that I hadn't made it, and I was so relieved just to have it over. But my second glance... It's natural to have doubts, but you seem to have way more confidence than I did in the quality of your work, so don't despair!
This year I'm gonna write something each day or so and just sit on them for a while before coming back. Then edit them, sit on them again, ask opinions, edit, sit, opinions, edit, sit, opinions, edit, sit... submit.

I told myself last year I would prepare for this year by doing just that. But most of the items I came up with were submitted for publication in various forms/places or junked. I have a couple ideas for this year, but nothing firm yet...

I would give them my top 3 items if I could. Maybe its that first year juice. I had to pull out a pro-con list in order to decide. In the end I went with the item I playtested and my players loved over the one with the fancier name and abilities. When it came down to it my selection was my answer to "which item would I be happy to add to a treasure pile."

This is my first year actually submitting, too, so I'm with the rest of you with the nerves. After talking myself out of even trying for years, I think the important thing is to just take that step. Worst case scenario, if it doesn't pan out, it'll be less nervewracking next time around, right?
In the mean time, I think I'm going to go back to staring at this item I keep coming back to and trying to convince myself it's "superstar quality."

You can't get selected if you don't submit! If you have read all the feedback, the Pro Tips, and treat this with the seriousness of a job interview you have as good a chance as any of the previous top 32. Trust your work, trust your idea, and go for it. Even if you don't make the top 32, you still created something and shared it. GOOD LUCK to all the FIRST TIMERS...the Superstar Contest needs you.
