There seems to be more 'First Steps', 'Crypt of the Everflame' etc Tier 1-2 games being played (and being offered) for PFS than the higher level games. I'd like to see if I can change that a little.
This is not an immediate offer of a game but rather an attempt to understand 'the market' out there before I commit time and resources in prep.
I recently threw up The Dalsine Affair as an offering but could only get lower tiered players applying. Not sure if that was the adventure itself or if there isn't the appetite for pbp games at beyond starter level.
How much interest is there in joining Mid Level (3-4 & 6-7) PFS games?
What are some of the criteria that would hold you back from committing to such a game (inc. locking your character down for 5-8 weeks)?
What are some of the criteria that would encourage you to play (running only 4+ star modules etc)?

Personally, as a PbP player (kinda heavy poster too) I hadn't really connected the dots on PfS and PbP, however in the last couple of weeks the idea has certain become appealing.
The idea is now something I will pursue, however I suppose the problem I have with it is pretty much what you have touched on already.
I'd hate to have my character 'locked down' for a period only to have players or the GM go MIA and have had the lock down for nothing.
Not such a biggie with a lowbie, but could be a big deal if it was my main.

I've been through the scenario that Shifty speaks of. But I have enough PCs that it isn't a big deal, even for a mid level PC. I would totally be in for that.
Alot of the interest in PFS PBP is intro stuff unfortunately. Scenarios can be short as 2 weeks in PBP if people are good about posting, or as long as 6 months if people go on hiatus. The only criteria for me is stuff I haven't played.

Ratings don't say everything. I've seen the same module get 2 and 4 star ratings.
I would'nt want to play non-AP's because I can play them in "real life".

Already on it - running Dalsine Affair atm. Thinking of running Feast of Ravenmoor and/or Murders Mark next - that should bring up a few level 3's by the time that and the current run of First Steps players are through.
I also need to build a reputation as a PbP GM for speed and reliability. If players know they will have their characters a) move relatively quickly and b) actually get the chronicle at the end of it, more ppl will be willing to put their mid tiers on the line.

I got Andrej to level 4 as well :)
If you are interested I *think* I've got the bandwidth to run another PbP... the question is what. I don't want to do 'First Steps' - I've played it twice (once via PbP and once at table) and am playing it for the 3rd time now as a PbP.
If you've a suggestion on a low tier game you want to play let me know and I'll think on it. I may also run 'We be Goblins'. The benefit is that it ties up nothing on the player side. Good for 500gp, 1xp and 1pp and you can play an INSANE pyromaniacal creature.
Just wondering about a 5th character slot for that...

I would be interested. I would be up to play just about anything really, unless it is one that I have already played. In that character Range I do have a Scout Rogue that is a level 6. My other character in that range I would not want to lock up for so long. My other char is a level 2 and a soon to be 10.
But anyhow I would be interested certainly, as long as I had not played the mod before.

You are correct...there are so many Tier 1-2 games going that my PFS roster is a mile wide and an inch deep. I would have joined your Dalsine Affair game...a few things stopped me:
1. I'm currently running it on another PbP forum and felt it would be fairly difficult to seperate player knowledge from character knowledge in this particular scenario, and
2. Both of my higher level characters are currently spoken for in other PbP games.
The majority of my PFS PbP games finish in 3 to 5 weeks...which is perfectly reasonable IMHO. However I'm in a couple of games that are taking way too long to finish. (One started in July and is barely 20% finished; the other we've spent 5 weeks on the first encounter.) That is also contributing to my slowed character progression.
Regardless I typically consider throwing my name in for all of the PFS games with open recruitment and look forward to your future offerings.

Well - gimme a few weeks to tie down my Dalsine Affair game and make sure I find any bugs, issues etc
That said?
Scarlet sun may only take 4-6 weeks to play out and will work for some of the ppl. I may offer that.
I was going to offer up Feast of Ravenmoor - it will allow for those ppl who have done first steps + a few but modules take longer to play out and I want to belt out a few PbP using Scenarios to establish that a) I can do it right, b) that the players are happy and c) understand the 'tempo' or running (not playing) PbP games.
I also reached out to the local Venture Captain on the idea of running Skype games using Roll20 once a month.

As someone just finishing-up running a tier 3-4 PbP, I certainly support the running of more 'higher tier' PFS scenarios via the PbP format ;-)
@Helaman: There are a two semi-official additional pregens for 'We Be Goblins' - they can be found here; with these, it is possible to 'bulk-out' to a table of six, without doubling-up on any of the original pregens :-)

I'll join the crowd. A year ago, I stopped trying to play amid- to high-tier character through play-by-posts, after the third one in a row (a high sub-tier running of "Rebel's Ransom") went suddenly silent and dead.
LOL. They were just frustrated at how hard that scenario is, what do you do in that situation Mortika?
I want to play in more PbP games to see the varity and the tips. Mortika, I would love to play in your games to learn how you deal with things.
I have a couple of characters. A 5th level Cleric that might be up for some board play. In a couple of weeks I'll have my Paladin free from the EoEW series. He will be 9.2 at that point. I would be up for playing a super high teir with him. Other then that I have 4 characters running around at the 1-2 slot.
