Huzzah!!! Happy New Year all.

Goblin Squad Member

Well the new year is upon us! What exciting things are you looking forward to this year?

Goblin Squad Member

mainly, more of the same. Last year was a blast in Pax, looking forward to this year being the same :)

For those who haven't found it yet, the Talking Head open RP thread has started. It's a fun way to help flesh out your characters

I call the rafters...

What a surprise, Areks is running to the tavern. Although it has been a nice way to kind of flush out my character. I just wish more would join us!

Goblin Squad Member

Hey hey now, no need to get snippy. Just because I call the rafters fair and square doesn't we can't still be friends... even if you aren't in the rafters and I am =)

Goblin Squad Member

I'm in there already brother, scribbling away! And maybe a little alcohol is involved...

Goblin Squad Member

It's a tavern... there had BETTER be alcohol involved!!

Goblin Squad Member

Areks wrote:

Couldn't agree with you more!!

They just had to go and toss in some more add-ons, didn't they?

Hey everyone. Have an ale on me!

Randovar wrote:

Welcome Randovar and thanks for stopping by!

For those that don't know, Randovar is one of our veteran members from the Star Wars Galaxies days. He jumped into the kickstarter process during our latest hard push to get more funding thrown into the mix.

Rand is a builder at heart, and wants nothing more than for our sandbox guilds to flourish like Dark City once did. We are richer for having him.

A huge thanks to others that have stepped up to the plate as well:

Lewdz
Kailara
Beilian
Darganon
Korint
Khas
Nicoli
Aidies
Szioul

Many of you are leaders for our Lord of the Rings, Eve, and various other divisons. To know that you are happily engaged in your own games yet willing to put your dollar on the line for Aeternum's dream to see this game come out faster is breathtaking.

It really shows that with our long recruitment process, slow incoming recruits, and roster we are still able to maintain a third place standing in the leaderboards. It is truly an honor to be a member of a community first organization.

Cheers

Dak

Goblin Squad Member

Rand!! Welcome to the party brother!!

Goblin Squad Member

Hello all, glad to be able to help out. Hope to have some fun here too.

Goblin Squad Member

I <3 you all!!

Goblin Squad Member

Wow Dak! Thanks for the kind words! The sandbox element is really what got me into joining up. I was unsure about joining in on another game crowdfund but from the excitement you guys have brought out in me by your stories and comments on the game I had to jump in. Now just to make some decisions on a charater and backstory...

Goblin Squad Member

*slides Randovar and Darganon each an ale*

Don't worry Rand, first ones on the house. Hell, let's make it a round for all!

*goes back to filling mugs*

Goblin Squad Member

And a big early thank you to Jaybrand as well!

Jay is one of our officers for Pax Agnitio / The Secret World that has decided to donate to see this kickstarter succeed!

Goblin Squad Member

A Thank you to Trip as well. Trip recently stepped down as guild leader and founder of our Secret World division. He just stopped by our advertisement thread to let us know he will be donating towards the kickstarter as well :)

Goblin Squad Member

Wow, all these people jumping in to help out the KS, really is a heart warmer! We really can't thank you guys enough!

Goblin Squad Member

The outpouring of support is amazing... I can't believe we actually had a recruit who played Pathfinder that DIDN'T know about the kickstarter and is now even MORE pumped to be part of Pax!

Just goes to show that there are still those who play Pathfinder out there that do not even know about PfO or the Kickstarter! Let's keep spreading the word folks!

Goblin Squad Member

Now if we can just get to second place on the voting. Do you all think those numbers count the fact that we have several CFGs in the mix?

Also, Korin has been trying to get down to the talking head for some time now....it's just such a looong journey...and he's soo laazy...

We shall see about that! ;)

I'm just joking around :)

I really expected y'all to be bigger than us, and still kind of expect you to pass us up as more of your people come over to PFO.

We certainly wish you continued success.

When you have been around for over a decade, you have been hyped about a lot of games. Because of that sometimes our core can be jaded and somewhat apprehensive. We also contribute to other sandbox kickstarters like Greedmonger and Repopulation. That said over the last week or so we have made a large push to sell why Pathfinder Online is worth the investment :)

Our recruitment is recognizably slower, but we also have a stricter recruitment process. You are correct that the steam will pick up. In the end though fresh recruitment determines success more than veteran members moving from one division to the other. Its honestly the only way to stay viable.

Don't let people think you are kidding Nihimon! The competition of us gunning for your second place spot (and I am certainly trying :P) should aid the overall kickstarter process.

I still love you Nihimon. It makes me sad you never return my calls, wandering in here like a vagrant stranger. I keep forgiving you, but it breaks my heart, it does.

One point that cannot be refuted is that seven(+) guilds recruiting is more effective than one. Combine that with a two week fielding period and you are really cooking with grease. Launch will be a very interesting event to be a part of in Pax. I can't wait. It will make for interesting discussions on "quality vs. quantity" and the "Guilds within a Guild" concept model that is becoming more and more popular... after the dust settles of course.

Why, you've never had Mushcakes with Warstein syrup?!

Hello all....I am pledged at the Pioneer level and have spent the last couple hours reading about the chartered companies.

Several were attractive, but the key difference between Pax and TSV was the community aspect which encompasses other games i have played, such as EVE, Rift, SWTOR and LOTRO. Despite no current mmorpg addiction, I see this as a good opportunity to maybe reacquaint myself with one of these games and actually have some people to play it with.

I have registered at the Pax forums and am awaiting an email to complete said registration.

I have voted for Pax in the Land Rush Leaderboard.

Valthalion

(note...i love the LOTRO name Pax Thalion. I bet we were thinking similarly when we chose our names. However mine was minted in 1978 for a DnD white box adventure. Yes, i am old, but only in body. The mind? it tries to stay young.)

Great application Jeff, Bjorn is processing it as we speak.

Thanks for voting for us in the leaderboards, and even more so for applying to our gaming community. I greatly look forward to the next two weeks of your recruitment period :)

Speaking of Thalion, our LOTRO division has seen quite a bit of activity lately. Our numbers are growing, and events are hosting multiple times a week. If you like that type of game, it is a great division.

and the trials begin....

I chose Pax Aeternum for several reasons. First, i wanted to be part of a larger community so read the forums of the 4 largest chartered companies trying to assess their gaming style and expectations. TEO was a little to segregated, especially splitting the harvesting / from the crafting. TSV seemed pretty similar to Pax but lacked the historical stability / longevity. As I read the forums I got that "gut" feeling this was the best choice, especially since there is going to be a long time before PFO is up and running which i will likely fill with one or more other games.

I hope that the family aspect of Pax becomes something special to me and it grows to be an integral part of my life, a source of fellowship and comradery.

Goblin Squad Member

Welcome Valthalion :)

As a new member to Pax myself, I have to say that the feeling of a cohesive community runs very strong in Pax. It seems groups are often trying to sell themselves as being 'like a family' in many different contexts (I'm sure we've all heard a boss at work do this at some time or another). But with Pax it really is accurate. Everyone is so incredibly kind and welcoming. Truly a tremendous collection of awesome people :)

Looking forward to getting to know you over the next couple weeks.

Goblin Squad Member

Agreed!

Welcome, Valthalion. As the kinship leader of Pax Thalion, I have to say... love the name. ;)

Goblin Squad Member

Welcome Valthalion, glad to see you on our forums. I really liked your app, and am looking forward to the next two weeks. That said, Lyon and the Thalion crew are a great bunch, and I'm sure they'd love to say high if you choose to bounce around back in lotro. I believe their kinship's on the Landroval server.

Just don't let Lyon's aversion to pants scare you away.

Goblin Squad Member

I let the computer spend the night downloading LOTRO and by morning it was done. I figured the odds of my character being on Landroval was pretty small and i really couldnt remember what server i was on when i played years ago.

So i got on Landroval and surprise there was VALTHALIN (someone had stolen me name...so left out the O), a level 31 dwarven ...something...i had to hop right back off so forgot to even check the class. i didnt notice a lot of interface changes so i expect i will have a bit of a learning curve again.

Valthalin is currently cooling his heels in the Prancing Pony in Bree.

You might want to get with Lyon, Squeak, or Ansar on our forums. Thalion has events going on all the time, and several leveling groups.

To the esteemed Dakark and other respected members of Pax Aeternum, greetings from the Keepers of the Circle. Our organization, though not so large as yours at present, is like-minded in desiring to establish a presence for Good in the River Kingdoms. As such, the Keepers of the Circle see great benefit in maintaining official relations with your kingdom and related charter companies. For Dakark, or any duly appointed representative, please feel free to visit with us. We are eager to discuss our mutual goals of community-building and peacekeeping. The Circle has much to offer in the way of trade goods, information, and shared enforcement of common rule.

Honored Warden Erian,

You honor us with your visit. The Keepers of the Circle is an organization that we have watched grow with great respect and joy. It was not many days ago we were neighbors on the leader boards, and I think Golarion would do well to note your rise with the respect it deserves.

Aeternum would be more than happy to host talks with the Keepers, either on your own forums or at Paxgaming.com. I can say that if you join our forums, we can assign you an ambassadorial rank. That said we are open to discussing more either (or preferably both!) of our forums.

Ezekiel Krow is our Ambassador and an excellent point of contact. I am sure he will be by this thread, and in contact with you soon. Until then do not for a moment be shy in communication to any of our leaders, or indeed any Pax Gaming member. In turn I will make sure to introduce myself on your thread as well.

Best of wishes, and keep pushing on those leaderboards! Healthy competition does nothing but help the success of this Kickstarter!

-High Thane Dak Thunderkeg.

Excellent! I am retiring for the evening, but will acquaint myself with your forums tomorrow at my earliest convenience. I am working now to establish protocols for hosting envoys of other organizations in our own forums in like manner, and we will readily recognize any Ambassador you shall appoint.
