Return to Epiphany - A Pathfinder Campaign

Play-by-Post Discussion

Hello one and all and welcome back to Epiphany!

However there is now one major change, instead of being it's own world, Epiphany has now appeared as a mysterious set of Isles of the West Coast of the Inner Sea Region (Approx where Azlant was). The Isles have just been discovered in areas that were thought to be open ocean.

Also just as mysterious, a cult has sprung up in various cities across Golarion pledging the divine love of a single god, who should be worshiped above all others, known only as The Protector.

And that is just a preview...

So here's what I need from you guys. Here is your space to make characters, and I want you to do it as a group making sure all the roles are covered and making use of teamwork feats if you like.

No rush on characters, not planning to start for about a week or more as I need to set down some ideas on paper.

Crunchy bits:
Pathfinder Society Rules
20 Point buy
Max HP at level 1, Average every level after
150 gold for equipment
Classes: Stick to Pathfinder allowed classes
Races: Same as above with one exception, Goblin is allowed as well

Additions: Each of you gets a wayfinder for free

Any Questions?

Yes, where do I find the list of aproved races/classes. I have never done any society play.

Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer 1

I am bring back Soris the tattooed sorcerer.

I have never played PF society so need a link to rules and such. From what I heard they are more limiting then normal pathfinder. That may or may not be a deal breaker with me. Just letting you know.

I am interested in A Human Gunslinger, the Mysterious Stranger archetype. I'll post a character sheet in a bit!

@TheRonin - This is a closed group, sorry for the confusion.

@SuperUberGeek, Soris Inkcaller - The only part of society that I am instituting is the creation rules, everything else is open, even skills and feats that are restricted. Suli are not approved as a race, but if that's a deal breaker, then we can make the one exception, but want to keep it as close to the creation rules as possible.

Society Rules:

Races: Core only, plus goblin, Tiefling and Aasimar
Classes: All, no archetypes dealing with undead, so undead lord, and necromancer wizard are out.

There are exceptions though, so please mention them

Oh my mistake, Never mind, have fun!

I am actually thinking about a gunslinger, probably pistolaro archetype. I am very flexible though.

@ Teirce Can you enable the gameplay thread just so I can dot it.

Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer 1

Just a few things I want cleared up about character creation sense I just downloaded the free PF society pdf.

Feat wise you cant take any crafting and leadership, depending on play and the setting I may have wanted to pick up a crafting feat and/or leadership. So this is open right?

Factions, will they have an effect on anything if so will it be good, bad, or something special?

I think thats all. I will start reworking my guy a little in a bit.

HP 29/29, AC 17, Fort +6, Dex +5, Will +1, Bombs 6/6, Mutagen 1/1

"There's already one bloomin' gunslinger in this game, dammit"

I could be convinced to play something else though.

Or, if you want to play a dwarf we could be friends or relatives.

Last I heard, we were not sure if you were in. And if I go gunslinger, I am thinking goblin.

Male

Well I'm in. I'll take healer. Open to suggestions, but I'm thinking a Cleric of some sort.

HP 29/29, AC 17, Fort +6, Dex +5, Will +1, Bombs 6/6, Mutagen 1/1

Well, Teirce sent me the invite. I assumed that meant I was in. Shrug.

I think I'll just wait until I see what other people decide on before I decide if I want to stick with Boomer or not.

Everyone who was sent an invite was certainly invited, Joy still needs to check in, but she's on the road, my other invite will not be joining us, but we will stick to five.

@SuperUberGeek - didn't want to enable the gameplay thread until we were ready to start, but I think just to dot it for now I will enable it. But not now, tomorrow morning for sure. I will post when its up.

@Soris - Craft feats are in for sure, as you will need them to be able to make anything that you don't bring with you. Epiphany will have no metropolis' to get anything. Found items have ever are a different story. Leadership however is a different matter. Leadership is out because of the nature of the feat, however there is one major exception, if you are playing a cavalier, then you can take leadership for a flying mount.

Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer 1

Truth be told I wanted to get leadership to have a crafting mage cohort and maybe some followers. Sorcerer's are not good crafters unless its a certain build which I would not likely go if its a out in the middle of nowhere type adventure. We need a ranger or druid for sure if its that kind of adventure. I may change my sorcerer over to wizard, need to think a bit.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

I'm pretty sure a "crafting Mage cohort" is exactly the reason Leadership is out for this game. ;)

Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer 1

A PC crafter is worst by far then a cohort if you look at it that way, sense PC's are all around higher then cohorts. Anyway cohorts are controlled by the DM so it does not act like two PCs, the DM can say that you have not treated them well enough and they leave or even betray you.

However there is another way for getting a crafter. This campaign will be similar to Shattered Star and Kingmaker, so at some point you guys will be able to start an outpost and you can ship in crafters and such at that point.

Also, a note for character creation. Please pick a faction from the list of Society Factions. It's on the paizo website under Society. Get to know the background of your faction because as you do things in the campaign that sticks to the ideas of your faction, you will get prestige points that you can in turn use for buying stuff once your Outpost is set up.

Also, 2 traits are allowed, but here's the catch. One trait can be whatever you like, the second has to be a trait from your faction, again, the traits are listed in the Society list of rules.

This idea might be a bit premature as a few of you have a few issues with the concept.

However, we can keep it going as is for now, as I will be out for a bit. I am currently switching ISP's, so my posting will become staggered and less frequent. Hopefully no issues arise and I will be back to posting before you know it!

Male Human (Keleshite) Cleric 1

Fallen_Mage here. Meet Cassym, a Keleshite Cleric of Nethys. I have his crunch now I need his story. What I have in my head so far is that he was the child of a family of Treasure Hunters who joined the church of Nethys to quench his thirst for knowledge of magical objects. He had an Elven mentor and is a member of the Osirion Faction.

So now I just need to work with you guys to determine how he met one or more of you and why we are starting to adventure together?

I'm going to have to hold off on this campaign as my internet usage is going to take a significant decline.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Female

I finally got my own internet back. So I'll be here and waiting until you get yours sorted out. Good luck.
