Advice

I want to make an awakened tyrannosaurus BBEG, but I don't know if I should give him classes as a gunslinger or a ninja. Or maybe a monk, or black guard. Which works best mechanically for a tyrannosaurus, and which do you think is the most imposing?

Grand Lodge

Unarmed Fighter with Dragon Style, and Feral Combat Training.

Ninja. A ninja tyranossaurus would be TOO FREAKING AWESOME!

Can you imagine it using Vanishing Trick and the like?

"Suddenly, out of nowhere, huge jaws appear around you and close in a sudden snap."

"Here is 2d8 + 11 of damage. Plus another 6d6 of precision damage, because it bit you in all the right places. Oh! And you're poisoned."

Ninja T-Rex!!! AWESOME!!!

A T-Rex with guns would also be funny, but I like the ninja idea better.

T-Rex two weapon fighting with a pair of cannons would be crazyawesome/regularcrazy. Do it.

Grand Lodge

Well, of course Barbarian syncs the best.

An--if by black guard you meant antipaladin--T-rex would be pretty cool too. Raising skeletal dinosaurs (is that a thing you can do? I'm not too well-versed in paladins and their alignment-flipped alternates) and all those other goodies (smite, auras, other spells, channel energy) seems worth taking a look at.

well, that, or ninja.

This reminds me of a conclusion the forums reached back in 3.5 days. A catapult is a weapon. The rogue can be proficient with a catapult. Therefore, if your target is within 30 ft, you can sneak-attack with a catapult.

Grand Lodge

You can still sneak attack with a catapult.

Hmmm, I thought they added a line to siege weapons that says you can't add precision damage. Still, its sounds so fun:

*Rock falls from the sky crushing a goblin utterly*
Rogue: Bam! I hit him right in the everywhere.

Never watched "The Gamers"?
"You want to backstab him with a f**** ballista?"
"Yep!"
"With a freaking Siege Weapon... there has got to be a rule against this.... nope there's not"

But yeah Ninja T-Rex all the way!

Dark Archive

Barbarian would be my best guess, but why? I don't see the point of having an awakened tyrannosaurus as a BBEG in anything but a silly campaign.

But what can you do...
- Fiendish t-rex. For the players to hunt down.
- Awakened dire ape. Leading a band of:
- Awakened monkey ninjas. Imagine the look on your players faces when they see that awakened ninja monkey swarm.

T-Rex Cavalier (I guess order of the Dragon or Order of the Cockatrice.. watch for his Roar of Dazzling Display )... and just wait for the mount^^
"You are being hit by a lance the size of a redwood, then trampled into the ground by his colossal Blasphemosaurus mount ! "

That would have the BBEG mounted on something the size of Gozilla.. "you need three rounds to climb out of it's footprint....."
.
.
T-Rex Ninja sounds fine, though. I imagine him hanging on the ceiling, waiting...lurking... then dropping stealthily on his utterly suprised opponents ! Ka----Breaakkkkkkk

we were talking silly, right ?

Well, the choice is surely hard between Gunslinger and Ninja.

Grand Lodge

Awakened or not, the T-Rex does not have the ability to wield weapons.

How about an Urban Druid? That'll teach people suppress his at-will Alter Self...

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

How is this even a question? Ninja.

How would a T rex reload his guns with his teeny arms?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

T-Rex cavalier riding the tarasque

He also couldn't ride anything with his tiny arms.

If he dropped the reigns....oops!

Ninja T-Rex sounds pretty awesome though and his main weapon is obviously his mouth, with rows of teeth, each equalling the size of a Wolf.

Sneak attack on top of that is awesome!

Don't make him a grappling pro though...

...

Reigns are not most of what keep you in the saddle. that's the stirrups, cantle, clamping your leg muscles when necessary, balance, timing, even tie down straps.

Plus its got great big huge clawed feet to latch onto the tarrasque's hide!

Grand Lodge

I do like the idea of a T-Rex Antipaladin.

Sovereign Court

How about a bard? Think about the confusion on the party's faces when the T-Rex starts a bardic performance...

With Telekinesis.

Give him 9 levels of wizard just to let him reload his guns.

likely why BBEG Tyrannosaurus+ Ninja will win

Female brontosaurus Ninja

I await the BBEG rappeling down a rope, breathlessly... or dancing over rooftops !

You're all thinking way too small. You should make an awakened blue whale. It is the largest creature on Earth, ever! It should be colossal instead of gargantuan, I think.

And he'd be a wizard, ofcourse.

Edit: Yeah, that's it. Awakened giant blue whale with wizard levels.

I'd like to see a Blue Whale-Ninja pull off a Vanishing Trick...

Ahab : "omg Moby vanished... wtf ?" *backstabbed by Moby*

Personally, if we are going Deep Sea... Kraken+Ninja... multi-attack backstabbed by eight arms ! Hentai references will be... ahem.. off the board... I hit you with my tentacles in the [ ALL THE CENSORED IDEAS ] for precision damage.

Man, now I have to put my players against a Ninja T-Rex.

It doesn't matter if that CR would be like APL +8. I have to use it!

BEST. BOSS FIGHT. EVER.

Oh, and it must have max ranks in Acrobatics, Stealth and, of course, Sleight of Hand!

Off topic a bit: My friend and I added a bunch of templates to a whale and it ended up being sin from final fantasy X, so yeah hows that

On topic: Out of gunslinger and ninja I vote for Ninja just to give him as many bonuses to stealth as possible, hellcat stealth, and have him vanish from all but the most perceptive characters sight. Think of the look on their faces.

Sovereign Court

Talk about an elephant in the room.

I don't know, as much as the consensus seems to be a T-Rex ninja, but really I think a Tetori monk would just be plain evil.

How about a druid so he can have an tyrannosaurus animal companion and cast animal growth on both his companion and himself.

Slap the dire template on it too.

An awakened, dire(colossal), ninja(8th level for improved uncanny dodge) T-Rex. CR 19?

Edited to read better.

Dire isn't a template in PF. Giant would work, though.

Not as cool as a ninja T-Rex... But hey, it's supposedly CR 9. Even if it only has 15 HP.

Awakening the cat would give it 2 more HD.

Edit: it also doesn't gain more attacks from the half-dragon template.

HeroLab is to blame for any mistakes... all I did was stacka s many templates as I could... heh

Entropic troll... You know, that could be really annoying.
