Pulling mobs to you.

Advice

Sovereign Court

Note: If you are one of my players, don't read ahead or I will give your character permanent intestinal distress!

So I am in need of some advice on how to create an item to pull mobs to my location. Like Mortal Combats "GET OVER HERE!", or a WoW Death Knights pull. I was looking at a 15-30 foot or so pull. Either a hook, or tied off net.

Is there an item already out there that fills this requirement? Or how might an item like this work? I would like to be able to launch this AND pull to location in the same round. I don't want to be unfair to my players by making it too strong, so it may have to be a 2 round action.

Antagonize feat or using a reach trip weapon (whip has 15 feet reach) to do the drag or reposition manuever. Verdant bloodline sorcerer can extend a vine/whip from their own body to do this but their cmb modifiers will probably be terrible unless it was a dip.

I'm sure there are plenty of spell options but I'll leave those to someone else.

Harpoon + greater grapple can do this, though only on a crit. Standard to attack (crit and grapple), then move (grapple) to pull the person to you.

Grand Lodge

Harpoon + Hamatula Strike.

Eldrich Heritage: Verdant Bloodline to get the vine on a High CMB attacker.

I am more so looking for a weapon, like would a whip or lasso work? What do I have to do to pull a player 15 feet? Ranged grapple attack then a grapple to pull?

Don't know lassos but for a whip you'll need the whip mastery line to be able to grapple them or the feat Serpent lash to reposition them.

You can Drag or Reposition with any Trip weapon straight out of the box.

I don't see the rules for dragging or repositioning in the CRB. Are the hiding elsewhere or are they immune to Ctrl F?

They are in the APG, new combat maneuvers.

I've always wanted to try combining a tanglefoot bag with a rope to make "the universal grappling hook". Not sure if it would be rules-legal though.

Force Hook Charge is a level 3 spell that a Magus would typically take. I could envision an alternate version or maybe higher level version that could pull them to you.

Telekinesis as written allows performing a number of specific maneuvers. However, as it was designed before drag and reposition maneuvers were added to the game I would allow to perform those maneuvers with that spell in my games.

How about not calling them mobs? This is not an MMO

Yeah I was letting it slide but it does rankle my sensibilities. Just a tiny bit.

Aasimar clerics/paladins have access to a feat in the Advanced Race Guide that allows them to push or pull creatures using the channeling ability.

My personal favorite is tweaking a teleport or step spell. Gives them a chance to resist and also has the great affect of splitting the party :D

G%* d$@n MMO lingo! I thought you meant actual mobs.
Why does everyone assume that by playing Pathfinder, you also play MMOs, and know all the lingo.

I play crap loads of Pokemon, but never use the Pokemon lingo when discussing Pathfinder, because I am well aware they are not the same thing.
