I'd go with Shemeshka the Marauder, the king of the crosstrade. Want to find out more, why don't you give Todd Steward a poke.

OmegaZ |

For me its Andirifkhu, the Razor Princess, demon lord of illusions, traps, and knives. My reasoning is that her worshippers kidnap victims and stick them in a dungeon full of horrifying traps that kill, maim, poison, slice, pierce, crush, squeeze, choke, drown, boil, burn, freeze, and drive you insane. If the victim does manage to get out through it all alive, they are forced to do the whole thing over again and again, until they eventually succumb.
Needless to say they make a great excuse for a Saw-esque dungeon crawl that's creepy as hell.

which ones are they? I believe the oinodaemon is the first daemon but don't know menxyr off hand. Now why would you put them up there though?
Info on Menxyr (More in Lords of Chaos)
Oinodaemon's story is in Horesemen of Apocalypse.

Mine are mostly out of todd stewarts work from botd 3 as most of them are more terrifying the more you think about them and what the churches/followers would be like. Some examples are...
Arlachramas harbinger of dehumanization, disposal, euthanasia
Folca harbinger of abduction, strangers, sweets
Laivatiniel harbinger of anxiety, coddling, unhealthy parental love
Nalmungder harbinger of basements, closets, delusions of safety
Osolmyr harbinger of flagellation, repression, self denial
the creepiest part of all is that folca's favored weapon is a net, let that sink in...

I remember reading the oinodaemon in book 3 but outside of what he does prior to the forming of the 4 horseman(where he blasphemes at phrasma and basically tells her their philosophy is inevitable) I kind of felt like they left him kind of hanging in the present as little more then a mad prophet who they kind of feast on and mock.
As for menxyr I remember him now I thought he was a very cool concept and would make a great villain in the right campaign, the idea of this undead demon lord who pines for someone physically even after death could really put the fear of a god in a party if done right.

I don't know why I didn't notice this thread before now.
Barbatos - largely because of the general vibe that I get from him similar to that of the tentacled thing from MR James' classic horror story 'Count Magnus'.
The Razor Princess is up there as well, but Zura has to be my favorite demon lord. Former mortal azlanti queen with a thing for debauchery and cannibalism. Nice dose of Bathory there for her style of things that I appreciate.
And now for the self-indulgent ones:
Oinodaemon - I had way too much fun with this guy. The illustration in BotD 3 seals the deal for me.
Trelmarixian - Because he played the genocide game while still mortal, and he hears the voices of the souls that he's eaten who are slowly driving him mad - principally among them the former Horseman of Famine Lyutheria the Parasite Queen who he may or may not still love (devouring her being the only way he could express it).

Ok that is creepy but still doesn't beat Folca , good lord that's creepy and I don't even know where to begin with clerics to him. I really think todd had some of the best minor divinities to come out of the books of the damned, just wish he had had more space to cover them or had picked some of the more interesting ones from his list as the 3 we got more information on were kind of ehh save maybe pavnori the harbinger of nothing.

Totally agree on trelmarixian, he's probably my favorite horseman to come out of that book next to charon and one of the best two written in that book along with war (who reminds me a lot of khrone from 40k which is an amazing thing). I love how he really had a character to him and understandable motivations that allowed me as a GM to build plots off of him. I will say though he made me a bit sad as he felt like he had a lot of pestilence's repertoire mixed in and pestilence himself seemed meh which is a shame as he's my favorite of the horsemen.

Sounds like the movie The Cube.

Winners of the "oh god make it go away" / most disturbing evil outsider lords award goes to...
Zepar and Folca!!
These two are the fiendish cousins of The Rapeman and Pedobear, apparently. Then again, I'm pretty sure whenever some crazed cults for either show up in my campaigns (if they do), I'm pretty sure the adventurers will be quick to purge them. Same goes for the two runner-ups, Nocticula and Socothbenoth, who are huge cans of nasty like Zepar, but are far less subtly creepy in comparison. Then again, they are demon lords, so it's not a big surprise.

Exactly, now as far as I'm concerned though Floca clerics, where they do exist, are probably lone entities creating a level of terror almost unheard of as they go about their business. Now my next question is which of the horsemen does he serve? My guess is potentially charon as he seems to be the only one who fits closest to his "particular" type of destruction. Why do I see him as having a lot of vulnadaemons and lacridaemon?

Or the dungeon also serves as initiation ritual.
Praise be! Another brother/sister has joined our ranks.

The Nightripper, dude is just creepy for a bunch of different reasons.
I don't know the nightripper always caught me as cool rather then creepy. I love his story piece in the beginning of one of the chapters in lords of chaos. The way he's playing they have him as this serial killer who's transcended and I think is looking for some payback on the people who couldn't put him under (or at the very least their descendents).

Anyone seeking more information about Nightripper should pick up a copy of Inner Sea Bestiary once it comes out... just sayin...
Wait wait wait... are you saying what I think you are saying Mr. Jacobs? Cause if your saying stats and pics then you may have made my wait that much harder.

Inner Sea Bestiary actually has stats and arts for three powerful unique fiends... a nascent demon lord, an infernal duke, and a daemon harbinger.

Yeah now I'm hoping the harbinger is Cixyron though as he was probably my favorite one to come out of Horsemen and the one I'm most excited to get a look at. If not him then probably Arlachramas, Laivatiniel, Mneoc, or Stygidvod. If they are pulling from one of the ones that got a write up though I hope they use Pavnori as the others were not nearly as interesting which is saying something as that book had probably the best rogues gallery of "creature who you should fear having cults to" next to the elder gods themselves.
As for the Archdukes I would like to see Zepar as it would be interesting to see them pull it off, one of the whore queens, or the lost Arch devil...

I really hope that infernal duke is Lorthact. Dude's been in the setting for a while, and was pretty important behind the scenes of an AP. And what he was originally referred to is in the Epic Level Handbook...

Since each of those guys takes up 2 pages, and since the book's only 64 pages, yeah... only one of each.

This is confirmed as the case over in the Inner Sea Bestiary description.

lol yeah he's one of the harbingers that I really want to see get a writeup and potentially a module around as he's really got a great setup for some terrifying followers.
Also really want to see cixyron get some coverage as he's one of the only outsiders that talks about firearms and future technology which makes him all the more terrifying as time passes.

Anything to do with Korvosa or the Acadamae will talk a bit about Lorthact. In particular, the 64 page Guide to Korvosa or the module Academy of Secrets.

She's also 98% invented by me (with the actual name coming from Rob Kuntz)... and as a result, whatever I would have added to Malcanthet in Pathifnder is now basically adding on to Nocticula. If you prefer Malcanthet, it's pretty easy to use her in the game instead of Nocticula, with Nocticula's stuff added on to her.
In any event, it should be pretty obvious where she was keeping that iron flask.

James, I just want to thank you for the work youve done with Evil Outsiders. My group is currently running throu Divideds Ire and it definitely has a 1408 meets Hostel feel to it, especially after fleshing out all those empty cells. Also, Ben S., Malcanthet's write up was in Enemies of my Enemy, definitely Paizo-published.

Although pretty much all of what's been written about Malcanthet has been published by Paizo (with much of it written by me), she remains Wizards of the Coast's intellectual property. We can't touch her now.
