"I am sorry to hear about your loses. It is never easy to lose companions. May they rest in peace." Marros looks around for a few seconds and then turns back. "I am new to the Pathfinder Society and was wondering if you could help me get the lay of the land in this wonderful city of Absalom?"

A man in Sarenite monk's robes that conceal his face shrugs apologetically.

"To be honest, I don't really spend much time outside of Society holdings when not on a mission."

He shifts his gaze to his hands, causing a flash of red to be briefly visible beneath his hood. He holds up a hand covered in tough, coal-black skin with fingernails that look like claws of obsidian.

"I don't like to cause a scene, which happens unfortunately often when I am in public. I am sorry I am not of more assistance to you."

He finishes this last statement with a bow.

Silver Crusade

Marros looks to the hooded figure and says "No worries my friend! I'm sure I can find someone to help! There are many people in this city, so I am not worried about finding help!"

Marros gets up from his seat. He looks around the room, then back at the hooded figure and asks, "Do you happen to know where I can purchase a room for the night?"

Silver Crusade

"I've lived in Absalom my whole life, so I know my way around, but I know that navigating such a large city can be difficult for someone new. These days, I spend most of my time, when I'm not away on Society missions, tending to the sick at the temple of Sarenrae, or visiting the orphans at Auntie Baltwin's Home."

"If you're a new recruit, I'm surprised Venture-Captain Valsin isn't making you stay in barracks at the Grand Lodge. That's where most newbies in training reside. I can point you to some inns that can put you up, though I don't have any personal recommendations. As I said, I've lived here my whole life, so I've never had to stay at any of the local inns."

Silver Crusade

"I am going to meet with Venture-Captain Valsin tomorrow and just need a place to stay for one night," Marros says with a smile and a nod. "I am very excited to start my training and don't think I will be able to sleep much, nut having a place to stay and try would be nice. Just point to any one of the inns and that will make due!"

Silver Crusade

A tengu with white head-feathers, a black ring of feathers around her neck, and the remainder a humble brown clad in mountain pattern armor and looking distinctly uncomfortable in it pipes up while radiating 'good'.

"Well, using the barracks means more money a body can spend on good works for people, stretch those donations that much further. Also a huge help if you're starting out so you can save money for your gear, as well."

Silver Crusade

A giant bat Stretches out and yawwwwwwwwwns, doubling his body length as he hangs from the ceiling

I usually just sleep like this in the park. Probably not an option for you though.

Silver Crusade

Marros looks to the bat and laughs a little. "It definitely isn't an option for me, my friend. It will be an inn for me tonight." He turns his attention to the tengu and says, "And you, my friend, make a good point. Saving some coin could be very nice, as I don't have much of it. As I said, it will be one night so it shouldn't make a huge dent in my pack, unless this is a very nice inn. Then I'll be hurting for some coin!" Marros lets out a loud laugh and sports a huge smile.

Silver Crusade

A younger woman with light brunette hair speaks up. "Um, hello. It is also a good idea to seek healing with the Society as well. You can often ask the healers nicely and most likely will heal you. So that could also be a good way to stay healthy." She shifts her feet slightly while speaking. "Could also see about day jobs. I tend to do fortune telling to help pay for every day things." She begins to seem more confident. "And if you do well, you start earning more money."

Silver Crusade

Marros looks to the young woman and smiles. "I could probably use my skills in constructing homes to good use when I'm not out adventuring. I built many homes for my growing village when I was growing up. Marros looks down to the floor, a glum look goes across his face.

"I wonder if they are doing okay," he whispers to himself. He looks back up and shakes his head slightly. He smiles again. Sorry about that! Just a little homesick is all!"

Silver Crusade

"Ah..." She sighs after hearing him say homesick. "Many of us are kinda in the same situation. We either left due to a calling, a need to do something, or just simply could not stay." She looks sadden somewhat, but then it clears soon after. "For me, it was due to becoming an oracle I guess. When stressed, I can only speak the language of the good outsiders. And recently I started to speak in a weird language I do not know of... But because of that, I am now here." She takes a deep breath before continuing, but then she realizes she forgot something. "Oh! I am sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Carol Silverstar, Oracle and healer of the Society." She bows slightly. "It is nice to meet you."

Silver Crusade

"The Technic League's robots killed my father, when he tried to defend my mother from them. They're dastardly, uncaring things. So cold."

Silver Crusade

Marros bows his head. "Nice to meet you Carol Silverstar. I am Marros Shipsail, devout follower of Pharasma. I come from the northern lands of Irrisen."

I know the feeling. I haven't had the guts to go home and tell my parents how I'm doing after I was kicked out of hermea" he preens a bit. "I think they'd be proud though. I've helped heal a lot of people, and stopped from very bad things from hurting more. Pretty sure mom would turn me in if i showed up though...."

Silver Crusade

"It is nice to meet you Marros. Pharasma is a nice god to follow, but the Society has shown me many teachings of different gods. I follow the Empyreal Lord Dalenydra, Blessed Attendant. She seems to suit me quite well due to my compassion for our allies." Noticing the woman, Carol understands her situation. Carol turns and lets out a loud whistle, and a large dog comes up to her. "We do what we must, to make sure people get by. Miss, would you like to pet Thomas? He's a dog that I received as a gift from my last mission. He is very friendly."

Silver Crusade

"What an adorable companion you have." Marros says with a huge smile. "I love dogs!"

Silver Crusade

A small statured half-orc wanders into the room, his skin covered in golden scales, His face has some sharp Draconian features with his head being topped off with two small horns and a third, slitted eye in the middle of his forehead.

'Greetings fellow crusaders, while I never had a chance to socialize in my early days, I was informed that a large number of crusaders were gathered here, so what better time to finally get to know some of my fellow bringers of Justice.'

Knowledge Local DC 15:
The 'man' standing in front of you is Rook Woundborne, a high ranking pathfinder agent who is currently resting to prepare for a flurry of back to back missions to gain seeker status.
He is well known for his almost uncanny sense of perception, being able to spot even invisable creatures with the naked eye.

Knowledge Local DC 20:
While rather affable outside of missions, Rook is rather reckless in the field and utterly unforgiving of wrongdoers, tearing them to pieces without hesitation. This has gotten him in trouble in his early days, but his destructive behavior has improved by leaps and bounds.

Silver Crusade

An average sized half-orc wandered into the room. His flowy robe ordained with various symbols of hammers. In his hands is some sort of book with a sword appearing on the front cover, albeit the book itself seems a bit weathered and worn.

Knowledge Religion DC 10:
His robes have the symbols of Torag, but the book itself appears to have the symbol of Gorum

His ocean eyes scanned the room that he entered into. He shrugs for a bit before finding a place to sit down. As he walks, any smaller items around him start shaking, but not to the rhythm of his footsteps. "Hello, I'm Aarius, I hear this group is good for kicking ass of monsters and helping the helpless, so I joined in on the cause." He has a big toothy grin on his face. "Just point me in the direction of any of 'em and they won't know what hit 'em. And if I happen to be helping someone helpless, well that's just an added bonus."

((I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes with that Knowledge (Religion) check. I just thought it might have to fit, if I have to take it off I will.))

Silver Crusade

Squatting down, Carol pets her pet dog on the head. "Yes, he's very nice." Noticing Thomas the Dog looking at the new comers, she stands once again and sees Thomas going over to them to sniff. Carol giggles slightly as Thomas went over to them with no hesitation. "Oh, I'm sorry. Thomas is friendly with people of the Society." Carol walks over to them as well. "My name is Carol Silverstar, and this is Thomas, my companion while not on missions. It is nice to meet both of you."

Silver Crusade

'The pleasure is mine Carol and to you as well Aarius, My name is Rook Woundborne.'

Rook pats Thomas on the head.

'And this little guy is the first hound that isn't trying to horribly kill me.'

Knowledge arcane DC 15:
Rook's arms are absurdly long for a creature of his size, suggesting that draconic is not the only blood that flows through Rook's veins.

Silver Crusade

Looking bored at his table, Yuan Shi sighs and pulls out a strange scroll. He then gets up, wanders over to the fireplace and sets a tea kettle up. After brewing a cup of tea, he ambles back to his chair and returnts to reading. He drinks the tea, appearing almost dissatisfied.

Looking longingly out the door Yuan Shi, self proclaimed Master Samurai can be heard to mutter, "out there is the perfect cup of sake somewhere... yet I have the feeling there are few chances for the society to send me to the right place to find it." With this he goes back to reading and absently scrates the head feathers on his friends Masakaze, a jet black griffon,

Silver Crusade

"Likewise, Carol and Rook."
Aarius leans back into a more relaxed position. The other half orc seems strange appearing, but who was Aarius to judge? He was a half-orc himself and probably looked strange to humans.
"So how do you two kick ass? I'm an oracle that can create weapons if I need them. You never know when you need one in an emergency."

Silver Crusade

'I always had an anger issue, it just took me a goal and some exceptional pathfinder to push that anger in the right direction.'

'As for how'

Rook reaches for the scabbard on his back, revealing a greatsword adorned with carved bones, idols and runes.

'Let's just say that, when they get his with this, they don't get back up''

As Rook flares his teeth in a toothy grin, a small whisp of flame escapes the corner of his mouth.

Silver Crusade

"I like your style" Aarius says, returning the grin that Rook gave.

Silver Crusade

"Kick Ass?" Carol has a confused look on her face for a few seconds before continuing. "Er... If you mean in combat, which I think that is what you mean, I don't "kick the ass". I tend to heal and mend and such. And why would I want to kick a donkey?"

Silver Crusade

Yoshimi tromps back in and drops her spellbook and sword down on to a table with a loud thump. Her clothing is showing many more scorch-marks than it had been previously, along with a multitude of tiny holes and cuts.

"I just got back from kicking some more robot ass, this time back to Numeria. Just reminds me of why I left. Did you know some of them shoot fireworks that explode harder than many fireballs? I found that out."

She waves to Yuan-Shi. "Oh, hey! How has your adventuring been?"

Silver Crusade

With her Master being momentary confused, Thomas wanders over to the woman that just arrived. He sniffs the edges of her clothing and sits down next to her, letting out a loud bark right after. Carol blinks in surprise wondering why Thomas barked. "Oh, welcome back Miss. Er... Do you require healing?"

Silver Crusade

A sharp bugling rings through hall, preceding the entrance of an Elk with a stunningly beautiful human woman riding it bareback.

"Hircine, shush!" The woman scolds, shooting a disapproving look at her animal companion. The Elk looks largely unperturbed, and the woman smiles gently as she pats its head. She then quickly dismounts the Cervine creature and shifts her appearance, becoming a similarly beautiful Kitsune.

"Hail my crusading comrades, it is nice to meet you all!" She proclaims, making a grandiose gesture. "My name is Nyphi, and my cantankerous friend here is Hircine."

Silver Crusade

"Adventuring? I wish. Been doing paperwork for Drendle Drang." He gently sips his tea. "You might enjoy this." He points at a scroll he has been reading, covered in colorful artwork that depicts people fighting in various poses. Notes scrawl down the side in Minkaian.

Minkaian, or DC 10 Linguistics:
The notes are religious commentary from the Minkaian godess of swordplay, and are also a primer on various fencing styles for Katana users.

Silver Crusade

A man wearing a pristine white parade uniform pops into existence. He quickly scans the room, checks his timepiece and frowns.

Lignuistics DC 25:
In Versites: ...definitely running late. (a language rarely heard on this planet)

under his arm is a Tome. Its spine reads Pathfinders Chronicle Vol. 8, but the eight is written sideways.

Never would have expected so many people. His accent is ripe with Varisian and something unplaceable.

He then does a double-take followed by an expression of concern.

@Nyphi: By the Many! Should you really be riding that quadraped indoors? That's a great way to get one's forehead embossed by a rafter.

Silver Crusade

"Hmmm? No, I fear you are mistaken, he is still young, and thus his stature, as well as my diminutive height, rarely means I have to worry about hitting my head on a doorframe. At least until he gets bigger, but by that point I should be able to make myself smaller, so..." Nyphi replies, mildly perplexed herself of the strange man's sudden appearance. "Though one could bear some concern of your arrival friend, pop suddenly out of nowhere is somewhat startling to say the least."

Grand Lodge

The keen eared in the room hear it coming two rooms away: Thump, womp, thump, thud.

Everyone else hears it coming from a room away: Thump, womp, thump, thud.

Finally, after much anticipation, it enters the room. A stout dwarf struggling to navigate these narrow human halls with heavy armor, a tower shield, and a glaive.

Stopping to take in the fox-woman on an elk, the white parade uniform, the man studying art.

Hmmf. Sorry, I must be in the wrong room. They told me if I came here I could fight demons...

Silver Crusade

"We do often fight demons. We also fight for truth, justice, and... Forgive me. I cannot remember the Taldane term for the last part."

Silver Crusade

"What's the wonderful phrase? Ah, yes, "Don't judge a book by its cover." Just because we aren't all heavily armored warriors wielding large weapons doesn't mean we don't have the good intent to defend the weak, seek justice for the helpless, and purify the world of evil. It just means we each have our own way of going about it." Nyphi retorts, fluffing out her fur in disgrace. "Me, I prefer to allow Hricine to take to the front lines as I aid him with spells. Sure, I'm no druid, who likely have a better time going about the job, but sure as heck do I do my duty when it comes down to it."

Yes I do realize the irony that Nyphi is my only non-holy-warrior in the Silver Crusade, and at that two of the others are Paladins...so...

Silver Crusade

@Nyphi:
Standing at attention, My apologies.
The gentlemen salutes Nyphi.
Æthership Captain Tem∏ænaut Fugit, at your service.
Temπ moves to a parade rest position.
This is my first time attending a Silver Crusade social gathering. It seems like we always go directly into PF deployment mode, with little time to really learn whom we are accompanying.
Temπ tilts his head slightly, like a dog might do.
Pardon me if my question seems rude for that is not my intent, but are you indigenous to Golarion?

Silver Crusade

Nyphi returns to her conversation, still somewhat fluffed out and showing some contempt for the Dwarf.

"Pardon? Indgineous to Golarion? By that you mean, am I naturally from...Golarion? Uh, yes I would presume I am, though my kind may have come from the first world, like Gnomes, but I don't know much about that myself..." Nyphi clearly looks flabbergasted at the inquiry. "And...Æthership Captain? Um...nice to meet you Mr Fugit. I can certainly agree with your assertion that often we Pathfinders have little time to meet each other properly when deployed. But I suppose that's what downtime is for."

Silver Crusade

Carol is slightly taken aback due to all the new people arriving. A fox and her Elk. Wow, that is something I haven't seen before. Is she a druid? Thomas the dog wanders over to them, but then is stopped by a "Pop" of a man appearing in front of him. Carol is surprised by the strange looking man. Whoa, where did he come from!? He said aethership captain? Is that a new type of sailboat that he commands? Carol doesn't really notice the dwarf enter the room before walking over to the two people that arrived already. "Th-Thomas, here boy."

Thomas the dog sniffs at the man in white and then tilts its head, looking at him. And Carol walks over next to her pet and greets the man in white, and the Fox with Elk. "Um, hello there, my name is Carol, it is nice to meet both of you. Um... What is a Aethership that you are a captain of?" She directs the question to Captain Fugit.

Silver Crusade

Temπ smiles at Nyphi.
The first world is something that I ashamedely know very little, but really need to learn more about. My patron is a first-wordler. She is responsible for plucking me from my birth planet, as it were, and for depositing me here.

Temπ bows respectfully to Carol.
It is a privilege to make your acquaintance, Carol. As for Ætherships, they are lighter-than-air vessels capable of interplanetary travel, of which, a select few can even travel to interstellar destinations.
My birthplace is Skydock of Verces. And Verces is the fifth planet which circles our mutual Burning Mother. It's rich with interplanetary trade and the ætherships used for such missions.
Temπ stows his time piece in his jacket pocket and then removes his cap.
I often wonder if I should drop the captain from my name since my craft is no longer. Please ladies, you may simply refer to me as 'Tempy' spelled T E M Pi.
Veracities life is a topic about which I am often called upon to lecture.

Silver Crusade

After Carol hears the description of Aetherships, she wonders if they are anything she read about. "Are Aetherships similar to airships or alchemical dragons? Both of them could be considered lighter than air, right?" Carol leans over to pat Thomas on the head. "....... Erm, What is a Sky Dock? Is it a regular dock, but in the air?" Carol asks questionably.

Silver Crusade

Temπ scratches the back of his head
Well, I suspect alchemical dragons aren't lighter-than-air craft. I've not actually seen one, though.
The simple rule is if it loses propulsion and quickly falls out of the sky, then it definitely isn't lighter than air.

An airship, however, might be considered the precursor to ætherships. The difference would be that ætherships are also equipped with cabins pressurized with breathable air for transit through areas devoid of atmospheres, and they also don't have ceilings of operation.

And Skydock is a large station that orbits Verces. Think of it like a city-sized sea port, except high above the atmosphere... where the ships float away from the planet.

Temπ cautiously extends his open palm for Thomas to inspect.
I recently was offered a dog, but know little about breeding. What is yours?

Silver Crusade

Oh... Your people sound much more advance than us on Golarion. Er.." She is slightly caught off guard by the question. "Thomas? He's really a breed that is used for riding dogs. They are rather large, nearly as big as a normal person! That is why they are used by smaller folk, like Gnomes and Halflings. But mine knows how to track. Was trained by a group of guides in the River Kingdoms. Oh! That place might be of interest to you. The town nearby had a strange clock that I had to go investigate." She is rather animated in explaining her mission. "And with it all said and done, on the way out, those very same guides gifted me one of their tracking dogs. Which was very nice of them." At the end of her story, Thomas the Tracking dog lets out a loud bark.

Silver Crusade

Yes, I have connections there as well. Maybe even more so.
Temπ sticks out his tongue. On it, in full-color is a tattoo of a broken hourglass.

knowledge(religion):30:
Shyka's holy symbol

It seemed as good a place as any to setup a shrine to The Many.
I can't afford to stay there all too often, so I now own a timeshare in the tower.

When Thomas sounds off, Temπ withdraws his hand, not sure if a bark translates as 'friend' or 'food'.

So, Carol, and Nyphi, why have you chosen Silver Crusade over the other factions?

Silver Crusade

Carol blinks a couple times when she looks at the tattoo. "What an interesting tattoo of an hour glass. Must have hurt when you got it." She tilts her head slightly trying to understand what he meant by shrine to the many. Does he mean like a memorial? Wow, he is a very nice person! "Oh, you have been to the tower as well. Hm, I don't think I recall any major conflict there. Just rather quiet."

When Tempi asks why she joined the Silver Crusade instead of others, she becomes a bit confused. Why I joined? Er.. Natural fit I guess. "It just fits I guess. My abilities heal people, healing wounds, and mending other abilities for now.

Only recently have I been able to use a spell I just learned, called Burst of Radiance. It blinds the targets of the area, and if they are evil, it damages them with a holy power. It is a nice long range spell too.

But other than that, I nurse people back to health, either with care, or my spells."

Silver Crusade

No, no pain. I lost the sense of pressure pain in my tongue from the crash. Actually the scar on my tongue already looked like it does now. I just had it professionally colored in. Don't have to go digging for a holy symbol. Who needs a tail when a tongue is much more straight forward.

Sense Motive:10:
Temπ is speaking tongue-in-cheek.

Burst of Radiance does seem to be a staple among us. Its in my daily prayers as well.

May I ask what domains you have in your purview? Or what deity you serve?

Silver Crusade

I follow the Empyreal Lord of Battlefield Healing, The Blessed Attendant, Dalenydra. Though she was not the one that gave me my abilities. I am an oracle, cursed with my "gifts". My curse takes the form of speaking in tongues when stressed. That is why I focused on healing, easier to heal someone than to just tell them to stop." Carol looks down at her feet for a few seconds before looking back up at Tempi. "I am able to channel like a good cleric, and my cure spells seem to not draw attention from enemies when I am healing people. Though, it is challenging to tell someone to hold still when trying to heal them in combat when you don't understand each other."

Silver Crusade

AAAhhhh haaa haaa haa haaa....
Temπ covers his mouth with his hand and stops laughing as abruptly as he started.
My apologies. I don't want you to think that I was belittling your plight.
I, too am not a cleric. I, too, am a god-vessel to my patron, I definitely didn't choose him, she chose me. And if it makes you feel any better about your speaking in tongues, my crew follows me everywhere I go, trapped in non-existance.
Temπ takes the book from under his arm, opens it, nods as if somebody was standing beside him, then drops the book. The book closes and then dances through the air, plows in into Nyphi and finally drops to the ground.
Oh! Sorry, Nyphi. I'm never quite sure what my navigator will do with my belongings.

As for me, I'm attempting to unlock the mysteries of both time and space, the latter through a heaven-sent spirit guide.

If only internally, I hope you join me in laughing at life's little shortcomings.

Silver Crusade

Carol raises a eyebrow towards Tempi when he starts laughing. ... Is he laughing... Oh, he stopped. She listens quietly while Tempi explains himself. Oh. He is an oracle as well? Hm... I don't think I heard of that curse though. Sounds similar to being haunted or something.

Carol watches as Tempi drop his book, it closes and floats around before being flying towards Nyphi and then dropping to the ground. "You should be careful of such things. Though I can understand that "curse". It seems similar to being haunted or something..." She ponders for a bit before her eyes widening and looking towards Tempi in surprise. "Wait... You mean that your whole crew... Is here, now? As... Er... That sounds like something from Numeria or something."

Silver Crusade

Nyphi jumps back slightly with a fair amount of grace, narrowly avoiding the impact of the book.

"Ok...that was kinda odd. I'm certain you hadn't cast a spell there, but..." Nyphi shrugs dismissively before replying, "What caused me to join up with the Silver Crusade? Eh, I grew up in the Sanos forest, though I'm not quite certain where I was born. There I saw some rather frightening atrocities at the hands of a Puckwudgie. To the say the least, I felt a, perhaps somewhat altruistic, need to eliminate the likes of that in the future, that I may defend those I care about from those who seek to harm them and defile the dead. I may not have as strong of feelings against the likes of Devils and Demons, but my convistion to our cause is no less."

Silver Crusade

Haunted, yes, you could call it that... I'm the only one aware of their presence, but, if you wish, I could bring forth a figment of what I occasionally see.

Nymphi, what is the source of your power?

Silver Crusade

"Source? Well, I'm a Sorcerer, so my power comes from my heritage. In my specific case my heritage is largely Sylvan in origin, so I have closer ties to nature and creatures. Actually, I suppose I'd be described as an arcane druid..." Nyphi replies, snapping her fingers absentmindedly, causing a light spell to appear and disappear from Fugit's book.
