About Voren Kcalberif

Voren wears monk's robes decorated in Sarenite imagery. His skin is coal-black, and he is completely hairless. His nails are even blacker than his skin and are sharper than nails should be. He has two rows of three horns each atop his head (largest in front, smallest in back). The red irises of his eyes almost seem to smolder with hellish fire. Voren's head and face are usually concealed beneath a hood and a cloth covering his lower face, both part of his robes. His diamond-tipped tail is either wrapped around his waist like a belt, or twitching like a cat's tail. (note: When in Mendev, he also wears his two Mendevian Commendations.)

Voren spent the first 20 years of his life on the streets of Sothis as part of the tiny gang the Devil Rats (mostly composed of those considered less than people such as tieflings, half-orcs, the occasional goblin, etc.). However, when the more numerous and aggressive Dune Dogs moved into their territory, they attacked, killing most of the Devil Rats and capturing most of the survivors. In this battle, Voren was dealt a mortal stab wound and the Dune Dogs left him to bleed out in the alley. When a novice cleric of Sarenrae saw the tiefling at death's door, she immediately used the strongest healing magic she had to keep him alive. Having patched him up enough to move, the cleric quickly brought him to the nearest Sarenite temple, where Voren was nursed back to health. Khet, the young cleric, spent Voren's recovery teaching him about the Dawnflower after Voren expressed a desire to learn more about the power that had saved his life. Joining the newly built Monastery of the Blooming Dawn, Voren spent the next 48 years training to become strong enough to help others the way he had been helped. Voren then joined the Pathfinder Society when he decided that would be the best way to travel the world doing good.
