Swift Action - AOO?

Just a quick question for the masses.

Does a swift action that is NOT a quickened spell cause a AOO against you if the specific action says nothing on the matter.

I have always played that a swift action does not cause an AOO but for the life of me i cannot find the exact rule?

Quicken Spell using a Swift Action obviously prevents a AOO. (it says so in the description) but i can find no information on other swift actions.

Anyone able to find the line of text i am looking for or did i get it wrong?

Thanks

Only spells that are swift actions don't provoke by RAW. Nothing else to my knowledge gets that benefit.

what kind of swift action would provoke and AoO? nothing comes to my mind

The question came up with my Ninja. My DM wanted to have the swift action vanish cause an attack of opportunity. I found that due to it being a Su ability it still didn't attracted a AoO but i could swear i saw the same rule for swifts in general.

Seems kind of weird that they only made spells that use a swift as AoO free.

I don't know. I am assuming he has a ability that allows a normal provoking action to be done as a swift action. As an example I think there is a rogue talent that allows people to stand up from prone as a swift or free action.

I thought SU abilities never provoked...

They don't.

Innocent question from the sidelines:
Does a spell that is cast as an immediate action provoke?

No.

Thanks! Thought as much, but didn't find it anywhere.

Sorry for necro, but:

Activating a spring-loaded wrist sheath does provoke an AoO, correct?

Spring-loaded wrist sheath wrote:
This item works like a standard wrist sheath, but releasing an item from it is an swift action. Preparing the sheath for this use requires cranking the sheath’s tiny gears and springs into place (a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity).
Wrist Sheath wrote:
This is a sheath designed to be strapped to your forearm and hidden under a long sleeve. The sheath can hold one forearm-length item such as a dagger, dart, or wand, or up to five arrows or crossbow bolts. Alternatively, you may store up to 1 pound of ammunition in a wrist sheath. As a move action, you can bend your wrist to cause some or all of these items to drop into your hand (provoking attacks of opportunity as normal). You have a +2 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks made to oppose the Perception check of someone observing or frisking you regarding items in the sheath. You can only wear one wrist sheath per arm.

Does a swift action ranged attack provoke?
Have a scenario wgere a creature has this ability. It is a supernatural one at that. Being supernatural i would say it does not. Is there a rule more specific?
Thoughts?

If it is a ranged attack then it provokes for being a ranged attack unless it has a specific exception.

Yes, but since it is a Supernatural it wouldn't double provoke. It doesn't provoke for activating, but does for the ranged attack part.
