Hey I have learned to appreciate the greatness that is wizards! I just don't want to be or play one... I didn't read a lot of fantasy about wizards, I've read a little, but I was a big fan of Elric and the 'eternal champion' series in general.

I love Harry Dresden, he's like "The Rockford files" for nerds.
I read the first Harry Potter book with my youngest daughter, she was in Jr. High at the time... she read the rest of them... I did not...
I have added David Eddings to a list of authors I should read, I just need to either post less or work less at work to be able to do so...

Also: in a similar test, I was rather consistently a cleric, though I got a bit of monk and/or bard and/or ranger in me, at times; similarly, usually a half-elf.
That said, I'm totally a wizard sorcerer... or maybe even a bard, insomuch as such things translate into real life.

So, I'm back!
... with really carpy internet.
Because, like the fish, it flops uselessly back and forth gasping for breath.
That said, we are on Spring Break, which is great, but also means my free time is going to be substantially less - I should still be able to maintain updates, but it may be spotty this week, as a result.
That said, I look forward to updating the game today, but only when I have time. Sadly, right now, I'm just passing through.

... well, at least Inwarned you.

Anyway! Either later today or tomorrow I will post something in Gameplay, no matter how small, Lord be willing and allow it...

Ok, since were asking 'what if' type questions, I want a ruling from the GM's.
There is a weapon made by cold steel called a Grosse Messer Sword Based on German weapon, It is considered a one or two handed weapon. Not to be mistaken with the one handed Messer Sword Which is similar to other 'modern falchions' for sale. (none of which are two handed weapons)
Back to the Grosse Messer Sword, it is listed as able to be used one or two handed. Unfortunately the video only shows it two handed.
The question, Would you consider it a Falchion, that must be used two hands or a hand and a half hybrid that can be used two handed or one handed with exotic weapon feat?
If it's an exotic weapon would you make it d8 x 3 or d10 x 3?

Man, I'd love to watch videos and/or not be stuck on my phone because my home internet only works when I am either away from the daggum computer or unable to use it 'cause busy...
Due to this, to answer your question: I'unno.
(It's worth noting that I haven't really been doing all that much over the last few days, relatively speaking, so I'm a bit confused as to where my time has gone. Sleeping a lot for reasons I don't understand, maybe. I might be able to do this tonight...?)

DONE!
Now it's up to you to determine what you're up to.
Anyway, just to be clear:
- there is an extremely powerful "unnatural" creature down one rune-level, and two powerful "unnatural" creatures (well, four, if you include Usawoti and Inarus) on this level
- Usawoti has a vague understanding of how to travel from level to level: there are generally two entrance/exits from a given rune-level, one above and one below
- the mephits, birds, and similar are considered "animals" in this area
Hope that helps!

ok working on an in game response, I agree we need to head to Shuuvu, the question will be if we inspect the other 'unnatural creatures' before we leave.
I have not determined what spells Usawoti should memorize. My hit points are still real low, as yours appear to be. So we need cure wound spells, should I use one spell to restore one of the mephitis? Even if they are 'natural' to this place (like the feather-beaks) I would like to take them with us.
@ Mort; So what spells, and shall we heal up before we leave?
Do you want to investigate the other 'unnatural creatures' before we leave or just back track?
@ TL, Could Usawoti tell if the dragon they killed or the dead one they found were 'natural' to this place? I'm assuming the smoke monsters were.
Also TL, how much of the information that you shared with Usawoti would Inarus have 'learned' through the mental connection?
Headed to work, will be back on in a couple of hours and I will keep working on my in game post.

@ TL, Could Usawoti tell if the dragon they killed or the dead one they found were 'natural' to this place? I'm assuming the smoke monsters were.
Dragons: ... eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh... kinda? ... but not really. It's... complicated, is what I'm saying. They could swing either way; you're not sure which way they did so.
Elementals: yup, totally.
Also TL, how much of the information that you shared with Usawoti would Inarus have 'learned' through the mental connection?
Literally as much or as little as you like - with those crystal shards, there is no need for spoiler tags or wondering who knows what, unless a) you explicitly attempt to avoid revealing things (in which case you retain your privacy and we use spoiler tags and they only know what you want), or b) you want to RP things like a conversation (either telepathic or aloud - always a good idea to remove doubt/create an immersive game; generally, you otherwise get the gist at least of what the other knows, though you don't necessarily read their minds, unless you're both cool with that).

Hah!
He's have a "Music(o)lympics" (or something) where he plays a violin for his "team" ('red' - though that means little, really) - but there are all sorts of events, boat rides, tours (it's at a park), and hype and other things, too. OK, I'm figuring someone has learned how to draw power from the emotions of creatures, that's the whole premise of the magic system.
So they built this "perpetual motion" magic machine to draw power from, whether they still exist is irrelevant. So the things being created by it (the mephitis and feather beaks and so on) are being created to use the emotions to feed the machine.
Now whether the dragons came to be here by accident or were imprisoned here to feed the machine, or created for this purpose becomes irrelevant to our search.
The creator becomes irrelevant to our search.
The other "non-natural creatures" so not natural to this machine are either creatures that have been trapped here or the plant folk who are also looking for the 'key.'
The air elementals hadn't transported anyone for a long time so assumedly the creators are gone or their descendants are the two warring factions that we are working with.
The only thing that matters is getting Shuuvu and the key and keeping our promises to the mephitis, because we are men, or a nomad aasimar and a dragon-demon-Inarus, of our word.
Still looking at what spells I need to have memorized, sorry I didn't have this done earlier, unfortunately the game is a lot like life, outa sight outa mind...

Please stuff delay poison on yourself in case of more incidents. I'd also recommend a few communal resist energies, or resist energy for yourself. Divine favor(if you used your FCB to take it) is a good spell, other then that I'd probably go for spells that don't involve saves since your wis doesn't quite cut it for save or die/suck category.
I'm currently a little jaded with regard to evocation because of the sheer amount of damage I can turn out in a round if I'm like minded to. Heck, most of the time I don't even get to throw my buffs out.

I've taken Regenerate to cure the mephit. Will do that once I post.

I don't think you can raise dead.
Constructs, elementals, outsiders, and undead creatures can’t be raised. The spell cannot bring back a creature that has died of old age.
Yup, outsiders means dead for good. Good thing it doesn't apply to native outsiders...
| GM Tacticslion |
In case it's unclear, the (native) subtype of the outsider type changes whether or not a creature can be raised/reincarnated/etc.
If an outsider lacks the (native) subtype, their really hard (though not impossible) to bring back from death.
Thus, I think his point is that you have no one to raise from the dead with that spell.
Raise Dead works on neither mephits nor Inarus' demonic aspect (though it would work on his dragon aspect... not really a result that either of you'd really want, I'd wager, from what you know...). It'd work fine on Usawoti (because he is an outsider (native) creature type; also because he has the Scion of Humanity racial trait (seriously, Paizo, no-no, you can't name two things the same thing), but mostly because he's an outsider (native) creature type).
Reincarnate, works under the same restrictions, but is a lower-level effect, cheaper, random, and requires special rare unguents and oils from rare compressed plants to function. Oh, weird, there are so many extremely rare herbs and plants just kind of suddenly blooming nearby...
What Could This Be For: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9 x1,000 gp-worth of materials <= holy carp, what a weird and mysterious equation, what could it be foooorrrrrrrrr*
Resurrection doesn't work on non-native outsiders, either, but True Resurrection could... but it's not on anyone's spell lists...
Similarly, Breath of Life (or "Cure Deadly Wounds" as JJ likes to call it in his games) works on everyone, but it's actually on your list! ... you just have to be fast about it.
Regenerate functions on all the creatures as well.
With all that information, I wouldn't mind if you wanted to alter a spell or three.
... it's for the amount of value that has just grown around here. It requires a DC 20 craft (alchemy) check to convert the stuff, and requires an hour per 1k gold-value. It can be made untrained, and you get a +10 bonus to the check while in this area for unknown reasons. No more than this will grow there.

hhhmmm maybe we should fill our bags with the stuff that has grown!

GMTL were you keeping a record of Usawoti's HP? AT one point I thought he was dead, then we started doing 'army numbers' I'm going to go back and see if I can find the exact numbers...
| GM Tacticslion |
Usawoti was not dead - there shouldn't be a way to convert anything to anything that would have done that to him.
Either way, it's not too relevant: presuppose that whatever the ratio of his ending hp was as an army to his maximum army hp, that is the ratio of his actual hp to his full hp.
For example, if he had 7/10 army hp, he'd have 70/100 actual hp.
Those are two entirely-made-up numbers. I don't know them anymore, and would have to look them up myself. Apologies.

I think what happened was that he was at about half of his HP when we started fighting and switched to army, and he definitely lost more than half his army HP. So I wasn't sure where we were at.
Edit: He had several cure wounds spells, but was planning on hiding behind Inarus and using them on him. When we switched to army I was just unprepared.

That's why the first thing I did when they were retreating was to heal you. I don't do things without reasons you know. The part about native outsiders can be raised was more of a subtle reference to ROW ;)
You were at 49/91 hp, then 6/13 in army form. If I don't remember wrongly. At most you'd just be staggered.

well at least part of my memory was correct, I had the 49/91 and 6/13 and healed 11 pts. resting, so down 31 HP. I was going back to see if and when I had used the 'cure' spells that I had. But I totally forgot about you healing Usawoti when we were retreating, Thanks.
So I will go roll 31 heal points for Usawoti, and possibly some for the Mephits...

An outsider with the native subtype can be raised, reincarnated, or resurrected just as other living creatures can be.

You're asking a monk to gather stuff. Really?
Long time ago someone posed me with a question. You’re a level 20 wizard sent to stop the tarrasque.
I knew the tarrasque was generally unstoppable(since I was relatively new to D&D and so I didn’t know more of the crazy shenanigans that people do involving the Tarrasque).
I said – I wish(as per the spell) the tarrasque never existed.
I mean you could wish it dead, it’d just pop back to life…
Don’t think it was too a bad answer to give, honestly, based on the knowledge I had at that point of time.
Then he said, since the tarrasque never existed, you have never had the incentive to become a level 20 wizard, so now you’re a level 1 commoner with orcs pounding on your door.
Me: “If my life is the price to save the world, I die content.”
Of course, these days the fashionable thing to do with the tarrasque is to wish it into the sun so that the fire and cold damage from being in outerspace keeps it in a constant state of dying and regenerating. The tarrasque still needs to breathe, and has no way of transversing outerspace unlike some really freaky aberrations. But hey, I was new to this!

... meh? Your answer was extremely solid, and, frankly, I find such manipulations of wish to be less-than-awesome... not because you can't alter how wishes go, per se, but because I don't like messing with people all that much and, "Good job, you suck." is kind of lame.
In any event, the best answer is just to turn it into a zombie via limited wish -> animate dead. Instant fix. :)

I thought the answer was to find a small mountainous highly populated island and then continuously create other large monstrous creatures which you then place on the island drawing the Tarrasque out of the ocean to that island; driven by his desire to fight these other monstrous creatures. That way the Tarrasque would only go to one Island and stomp around there and the rest of the world would be safe...

Never used the candle of invocation. At least never got to the level that I'd have the cash to use on that stuff.
I've also never got to the level to use simulacrum before, the only stuff I think of doing at high level is create my own demiplane where time goes super slowly, then sit in there research on immortality. And make all my fancy items. Once I get the immortality thing settled, then I can walk out.
How do gates unmake things? Cthulhu isn't that bad once you get immune to mind affecting. I've thought about 2 ways - Lunar oracle capstone,
"Upon reaching 20th level, you become an avatar of the primal world—part humanoid, part beast. Once per day, you can transform into a lycanthrope of your choice for a number of hours equal to your Charisma modifier, gaining all the powers of a natural lycanthrope of that type, including the ability to change shape between human, animal, and hybrid form.
In addition, you become immune to mind-affecting and language-dependent effects, as well as effects that specifically target only humanoids." or
Occult oracle capstone, when you die and come back as a ghost. Cthulhu can't really hurt incorpreal creatures, unfortunately, his starspawn can use gate, which will harm you.
I've not actually crunched numbers yet to see if you can hit him or not, or stack a suffocate (is that considered as a death effect?) on him. Technically you could baleful polymorph him but I'm not sure what it'd take to get through SR and saves.

Candle's're extremely cheap: at 8.4k a pop (4.2 if you're making it yourself), you'd be able to afford that ~ level 6-8. You could hypothetically afford it 5th, or even 4th, but in most any normal campaign, that proooooobably ain't happening.

Nah, that isn't Cthulu. That's a fan's over-inflated buy-in of the hype-train interpretation of what Cthulu actually is: a moderately-CR'd super-sized kind of stupid (though proooooooooobably sentient?) super-predator who happens to drive people nuts via really, really big psychic aura.
It's closer than many RPG attempts, though, I'll give it that.
I've not actually crunched numbers yet to see if you can hit him or not, or stack a suffocate (is that considered as a death effect?) on him. Technically you could baleful polymorph him but I'm not sure what it'd take to get through SR and saves.
It's not really relevant.
Just hit him with a super-tanker. Toot-toot.
(I'm going to guess you're not super-familiar with the source material. Lovecraft, the author, is a very clever writer with a penchant for the weird and macabre, who used his rather excessive list of phobias and personal insecurities rather well to create immersive, terrifying fiction; unfortunately, he was also terribly racist and and a bunch of phobias and personal insecurities that made him kind of terrible. Cthulu was but one of the creatures he created, and wasn't all that important, even in his own universe. The one story he actually manages to wake up ends with - spoiler alert - him attempting (and failing) to swallow a steam engine boat at full power trying to escape him. I mean, technically, he succeeded... sort of. It popped his head, though, and kept going right on through. The gas eventually drove the dudes that went through it mad, but he never really showed up again, even though he's noted as having regenerated immediately - seems he went right back to sleep.)
