Best Rogue Gear Grocery List

Advice

Well, I am not going to the grocery for rogue gear, but if I could what would they sell? I am in a campaign right now and the party has a bit of gold(over $10k). We just hit level 6 and I have a rogue. Bottom line, I would love some advice.
Also, links to previous threads are sweet.
I have read ROGUE EIDOLON'S GUIDE so much I think I printed out the Google Doc. My rogue is TWF with Short Swords(one Keen the other +1) . He has a Mithral Breastplate for armor. In our group we don't have a crafter so what I am looking to buy is strictly store price.
I am thinking right now:

Ring of Protection +2
Amulet of Natural Armor +2
Belt of Physical Might
Cloak of Elvenkind
Vest of Escape

Sczarni

Handy haversack.
(if bow user): Efficient Quiver
A "buttload" of cure light wounds scrolls (they are cheaper than potions)

+2 weapon if possible... that is like 8k... Or a +1 weapon with ghost touch or keen (if no feat).

Armor(or ring, amulet, etc) with Shadow on it helps a rogue as well... if stealthy at all (take a level of Shadowdancer and start hiding in other people's shadows).

What about BRACERS OF ARMOR? I have a Mithral Breastplate though. Will they work together?

I am a TWF, Short Swords.

Boots of Speed?

What does Ghost Touch do for a weapon?

Makes it so you can hit and do full damage to incorporeal monsters. Only noting this because we are running the Falcon's Hollow/Kobold King and it seems like Allips are everywhere in the series (esp. even as random encounters). And if you are going to be fighting in shadows... you might want something that can hit a shadow too...

Ghost touch allows you to hit incorporeal things

Edit: Ninja'd with a better response :(

Just to be clear, is 10k the gold amount for the entire party? Or your own cut?

I have $12,222 k that my rogue won on a bet. It is all mine.

Nice!

There are a couple of ways you could go. 6000 gold could (if your GM allows it), allow you to make your second shortsword +2 (meaning you could have a +1 keen, +1 ghost touch or otherwise. It's your call. IMO keen is kind of wasted on a rogue, though, as they cant multiply their sneak attack damage). You could also fork out to get your armor enchanted. It's only 1000gp to make a breastplate +1, and coupled with another AC boosting item should give you a nice boost for a low price.

Some would recommend you grab a +1 ring and a +1 amulet, and spread your bonuses thinner for the lower cost. I'd say grab one of these at +2 now, and hope you score the other as loot in the future.

I'd definately recommend grabbing the best cloak of resistance you can afford. They're staple for a reason. They save lives. They'll sae you numerous times throughout your career and they're dirt cheap. That'd be the only item you missed, I'd say.

Aside from TWF what's your play style?

Do you put UMD to use, are you the face for your group, are you a stealthy TWF, are some of your stats detrimental, etc...?

Just because if we know your focus, we can better pinpoint where you should spend most of your gold :)

Right now we are a 'smash and grab' group running the Council of Thieves. We have a tank paladin who can take a wallop but doesn't really deal that much damage. We have an insane ranger who is super overpowered. We have a healing cleric and have a sorcerer who just came in.

My rogues stats are:
STR 16
DEX 20
CON 15
INT 8
WIS 14
CHA 15

I have a MITHRAL BREASTPLATE, +1 Short Sword and a Keen Short Sword. I also have dodge. My rogue normally picks the locks and sneaks, but mostly the ranger scouts. I primarily use my sneak attack for flanking with the paladin. I flank a great deal and deal the most melee damage.

Also, I don't think I have ever put UMD to use.

If you don't want to flank as much, you can get a mistmail which will give obscuring mist effect, (our other ways to get smoke or obscuring must) and wear a goz mask (inner sea guide). Now you see through the smoke while enemies can't.

Silver Crusade

Just a few suggestions
Boots of Striding and Spring(+10ft of movement to help get to flanking. Thanks I'll be rigth there.)
Eyes of the Eagle(I have a good perception. Now I can't fail good luck geting any thing by me.)
Circlet of Persuasion(How to win friends and influance people. Note this is a head/helmet slot, and can be worn with a head band stat bosting item.)

I recommend a wand of CLW (cost 750 gp) rather than scrolls. The wand is cheaper per charge (15 gp vs 25 gp), doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity, and has a lower UMD DC (20 vs 21).

No. Both items give an armour bonus to AC. They do not stack.

If you're going to buy scrolls, why not just get a wand? It's 50 castings stored in a little stick for 750GP. I wouldn't dream of quantifying "buttload," but 50 is a lot.

That works. Even easier to use too (20 vs 21). Seems like they can get a "buttload" of wands instead.

I personally LOVE the part about "A wand may be used while grappling or while swallowed whole." Just down it before the adventure for 50d8+50 extra HP. LOL (OK, I am joking... I know it means if YOU get swallowed whole, not the rod. Have to love English and power gamers though, right?)

Scarab Sages

Mostly just to break away from the standard stuff, I'd suggest a Rope of Climbing.
It's 3000gp, wicked expensive for a conditional item, but I have seen it literally save an entire party more than once.
It depends on the campaign you're in of course, but it is a powerful magic item that makes most terrain issues irrelevant.
Just a thought.

Cloak of resistance +1 1,000 gp
Pearl of power, 1st-level spell 1,000 gp
Hat disguise 1,800 gp
Chime of opening 3,000 gp
Vest of escape 5,200 gp
Gloves of swimming and climbing 6,250 gp

Wand of Cure lght wounds 750 gp
Wond of obusreing mist 750 gp
Wand of shield 750 gp
Wand reduce person 750 gp
Wand of knock 4500 gp

Scroll of remove fear 25
Scroll of suppes charm and compltion 150
Scroll of Glitter Dust

Potion of fly
Potion See invisiablty

There's a lot of cheaper stuff that could be useful as well.

MW thieves tools, everburning torch, holy water, antitoxin, etc.
How are you set for that kind of thing?

You're in a city, IIRC. You could go to town with disguises, a hat of disguise, etc.

Don't forget spellcasting services. There are times when heading to the nearest church and getting a divination cast is worth it.

I have MW thieves tools. None of the other stuff. Are the bonuses to divination pretty much for perception checks/gather information?

If you're going to get a hat if disguise, you might as well get the greater version. The spell now is alter self, granting you either a +2 str or dex size bonus for being medium or small humanoid (what you change into), a well as some senses.

Nothing like picking a lock in a thieves guild, as a rogue small race, and then, when they expect a squishy rogue to come through, out bursts a medium sized 7' tall sasquatch, who can now see in the dark up to 60', to murder all the opposing thieves.

I am curious, now that you know, what do you recommend?

The divination is the divination spell. Other possibilities include locate object, scrying, legend lore, and contact other plane. If you have a mystery, help is available.

For combat/exploration, any spell that lasts 1hr/level is a good choice.
