A gunslinger barbarian archetype?

Advice

a buddy just messaged me and asked if i could get with him build this thing. the thing is other than amateur gunslinger feat at first level i dont know to take this thing. please help, this could be potentially awesome if it works

Honestly, I don't see really see how to make this work. The only thing I ca think about is looking at the urban barbarian and taking enough levels in gunslinger to get dex to damage.

the problem of course is trying to apply rage and guns, i was leaning towards a grit spent "cold rage" to boost damage but i am still trying to think of balanced mecanics

You could give him the ability to do melee attacks with pistols without penalty for improvised weapons.

And an ability that works like TWF but has to be a melee attack and a shot. Similar to the magus spell combat but with gun and blade instead of spell and blade.

Blunderbuss/Axe musket, strength power attack build. Maybe mysterious stranger and that rage power yell thing, take lots of intimidate.

Also dipping Musketeer Cavalier, trophy hunter, or spellslinger (you can burn your spells for a gun buffs for 1 min) for free gunsmithing and a free gun, well, except for the trophy hunter.

Have you seen the Trench Fighter Archetype? Dex to guns at lvl 3.

you can also take urban barbarian which can make a controlled rage to add +4 to one physical instead of the normal rage.

Necro'd... but now this exists at least: Savage Technologist

You can easily make a thematic 'barbarian' gunslinger, but the problem comes with that barbarian is a devastating melee class who can tank a lot of damage.

On a side note a racial archetype for Ratfolk called the Gulch Gunner could be sort of the thing you are looking for. It makes a melee focused gunslinger who actively tries to provoke Attacks of Op. in order to regain his grits instead of crits. Nothing about the class screams 'only rats can do this' for example they will fire their gun at some one and then burn them with the hot muzzle. (The class for ref. can be found in the Advanced Race Guide and can be found with a quick google search of "Pathfinder+Ratfolk+Gunslinger"

This reminds me of Barbarianna, from Kung Fury.

This zombie thread may rejoice and return to the grave now, since Savage Technologist exists.
